2 bows dropped for me on Bristlebane server yesterday 11/27/2018.

Took me 6 kills to before they dropped.

Respawn timer has been 72 - 84 hours or 12 hours after server reset.

Zone is still frequently camped, as every time I had logged in the zone was more or less cleared. Luckily I was able to give the 2nd bow to another ranger in general chat.

Dagarn has been camped continuoulsy on the Rathe for some time now, He has been killed a good 12 spawns in a row. Not one single bow drop in all those kills. Beginning to think the bow has been nerfed.

We just had two drop on 4/21/2018 on Phinigel. So it can happen! We had a hard time giving them away in general chat sadly.
timer changed?
# Nov 02 2012 at 10:17 PM Rating: Good
Since the Sept. 2012 patch, his timer has been way off. Not sure yet what's going on but last two pops were not on any kind of schedule that he used to have.

his spawn time is NOT 80 hours. i've been camping this guy for 2 weeks now (since the last patch). here are my times :-

38 hours from servers coming up
76 hours
81 hours
74 hours 45 minutes

looks like its 72 hours + up to 12 hours. i've heard it's +/- 12 hours but hasnt been less than 72 for me. obviously i'm unlucky though because i'm 0 for 4 on the bow now.

hope this helps.

add - 79 hours last spawn and it dropped, at last i can get out of tov!!

I've camped this guy a few times now in the hope of getting the bow for my ranger and today it finally paid off.

Observations -

Dagarn's initial spawn time from server reboot was ~15hrs. I have been told from various sources/reading up that ToV spawn times following a server reboot are up to 24hrs. All of the mobs inside ToV spawn randomly during this period, in no particular order from what I saw.

After killing Dagarn, he spawned again after 76.5hrs.

Definitely looks to be 3 day spawn with a variance of +12hrs.

Well I soloed this whole zone just me and cleric merc. 81 Ranger buffed to 25k hp's and 3200AC and 800aa's. Defensive AA's maxed out. AAryonar took me longer to kill this this guy. I'm upset I didnt get the bow but someone said the zone respawns like every 3-5 days so I will try again later this week. The hardest part about this whole zone is that they have ALOT of hp's and it took me about a hour and a half to clear all the way to him and fighting 3 small named at the same time while they teleport away to get healed really sucked but I think overall that lvl 80 anyone with decent armor and weapons could get it no problem. Good luck

Best bow in the game for headshot killing 17 delay thats insanely low next closest is a 22 delay in Old Sebilis Wind Saber, and then various 23-25 delay newer expansion bows.
not hard

I was in NToV today just for old time's sake killing a couple drakes when out he pops from his nook. I'm a level 81 mage with about 1100AA and 2.0, and my merc was up. We made short work of the drakes and then started to work on the dragon. Stupid merc kept standing there taking hits. Instead of backing off, she kept running into the wall. Well, she healed a couple times then died. By then the dragon was about 40%, I was 50% mana, and there were 2 new drakes joining in. The 81 air pet is a beast and I healed a couple times and we took down the dragon, then the drakes, me ending at about 15% mana. He dropped a nice Belt of the Destroyer which went to my chanter twink I had parked there. A very fun encounter.

Was in ToV, checking and saw him up, but Fabled Aaryonar was in the way and not much way past him. Between the time it took me to gate to lobby, and port some friends over to help with Fabled Aary, someone popped in, bypassed Aary, and killed Dagarn, I used DA and ran through and his corpse was still there. No luck once again.

I hve been checking 2 or 3 times a day to see if Dagarn is about. Either someone on Cazic has him timed perfectly, or I am just always too late to the party. I am going to get this bow one way or the other,,,

Spawns at:

pos 215, neg 1370.

If the North wind has 'pockets' with named dragons in them, he's actually in more of a 'nook' than a full pocket. From Aaryonar at the T entrance to the North wing, there is a full pocket on your right, the next little nook is where Dagarn the Destroyer spawns.

So I spent a day grinding CoV faction on my Mage so I could walk to the North Wing with impunity, and I'm getting ready to kill this guy repeatedly with a couple friends until he's dropped the bow a couple times, and dropped a few pairs of pants and boots. Some of the things I would like to know are:

What is the respawn time on him?

What's the respawn time on the KoS "trash" in NToV?

What's his /loc (or, even better, how do I get to his room with the least fuss)?

I think that MY resists are up to the task, but what about HIS resists? If his fire resist is pretty hardcore, that's going to cut down my DPS drastically.

I'm seeing that he's tough to hit with magic-based slows, so I assume hitting him with a resistable debuff like Malosinise is going to be rough. Should I just have the Shaman use her highest unresistable debuff and save my mana?

I saw the post saying they duo'd him with a 70 RNG and 70 SHM with Anguish gear saying that, once he's slowed, he's cake. Think a 72/72 Mage/Shaman that are mostly bazaar geared could take him as a pair, or would we need a third (such as a tank)?

Is he alone, or will I need to kill everything around him as well?

Does Call of the Hero work in the zone?

How about the Fellowship Campfire clicky?

And finally, are there any other mobs in NToV I should murder for fun and profit? I plan on parking my 63 Monk, 55 Ranger, and is it's worth the effort my 46 Cleric, 38 Warrior, 32 SK, 28 Beastlord, and I might even drag my Necro bazaar vendor. ^_^

Posting answers as i discover them:

3-5 days, so I'm told.
Quote:
What's the respawn time on the KoS "trash" in NToV?

Roughly speaking it looks like the mobs can be grouped as:
1. Itty-bitty drakelings - respawns roughly 7 minutes.
2. Medium-sized non-named - respawns roughly 15 minutes.
3. Medium-sized FAKE named - respawns roughly 15 minutes.
4. Medium-sized real named - respawns UNKNOWN.
Be warned though that there's a couple of wanderer drakes around the hub of the northern wing that seem to respawn very fast (5-10 minutes).

Quote:

Most mobs see invis. Therefore either raise faction first, or else kill your way due north, winding occasionally through a mini room/corridor or two. When you get to a room of itty-bitty drakelings invis, huge right and go past them. All the mobs past this point appear to be kos regardless of your faction. From here you either have to e extremely stealthy or kill your way, starting with Aaryonar.

Magic resist seems to be his worst.

Very, very hard to get malosinise or magic-based slows to land at all. Try using disease-based slow, and yes save your mana after that.

On a level 66's water pet (with The Sweeper for pet focus), the highest he hit was 700. He has 290khp, rampages, and we sustained an average of 900 DPS over the course of 5:30. I don't know how you two fair (or what lvl/equip you use now, or even if you both still play!) but use those figures to judge for yourself.

Quote:

The best way is to kill Aaryonar, then slowly clear your way counter-clockwise until you reach a wide area to your right (SE corner of the hub) with a mob and 2 medium-sized names. Kill that area and set up camp there. Then pull singles until you are able to get Dagarn the Destroyer by himself to make life easier.

Does Call of the Hero work in the zone?

Yes.

Quote:
How about the Fellowship Campfire clicky?

Yes, you can place a campfire and you can successfully port to it in ToV.

I'd say that the best twink gear is at the northern wing. There's a summon food item on the west wing that's useful to many classes too. The armor quests for this zone are almost all completely redundant now, except for some classes who get a useful clicky.

I make it about 65 minutes, as is the case for some of the other mobs along the big circle.

Well, I finally built up my drive to take him out, and brought a few friends along. We could have very easily handled it with fewer toons, likely right down to the Mage/Shammy duo I mentioned originally, although higher level now.

80 Ranger tank buffed to 24khp was overkill. With a Lassitude (defensive slow proc) from the shammy, he probably could have solo'd him.

Also had 77 Mage (me), 78 Shammy, 72 Mage. Totally gratuitous. He was retardedly easy with this group, even with the fact that none of us realized that all the dragons are belly casters until two days later.

He did not drop the bow, but we picked up several neat twink items for baby toons this trip through, including the the belt, boots, and two shoulders from Dagarn, Bard dagger off of Lord Koi`Doken, and a few other less noteworthy pieces. Going back for round two tonight.

***********

Round two did not go well. Feeling cocky, I tried to solo a couple dragons near where I parked my Mage and got myself killed. Then, I logged in my cleric to rez my fellow Mage so he could CotH people instead of me. And got my group wiped by trying to drag my Mage's body.

Considering my faction is now hosed, it will be a while before I get an opportunity to walk in here unmolested again.

***********

Round three went as pporly as round two. Dragging a mob with me through the clear area, I found that the wyverns will agro through the walls. All of them.

***********

Round four went smoothly. Logged my monk, trained all the mobs out of the way of the other mage who ran to a safe point and summoned my mage and the rest of the party. Still no bow after three kills.
