After recent patch, killing a storm giant escort now gives better coldain faction hit also. Its a good news that you get both cov and coldain faction from them.
Unlike most giants these are stunnable for some reason (at least my air pet could stun them anyway).
Easily single pulled with low aggro spells that have good range. Nothing else in the immediate area, no wanderes that would care.
Pop time is 6 minutes give or take 30 seconds. So pull a ways away from the camp in case a fight is gonna take anything over a couple minutes.

I killed a bunch (grouped, of course) of these while working my way to the named thier 'escorting', They do HT for 551, i think the guy that posted that they recast it aggroed the whole camp (3 escorts - 3 hts) They do have quite a high hp count but once they burn thier HT their not so bad (cast fear, dots, etc. all sk stuff but most are pretty weak spells and easy to resist or don't do a whole lotta damage)
I joined a pickup group and we killed the nameds a few times (toxonimist Djorinal (something like that) and lorekeeper someone else a few times), they haven't dropped squat, went back with guild group on way to SS and we killed them a few times too, still nothing but pretty decent xp and faction. no loot to speak of, guessing thier quest mobs, and they're both wizzy's i think (nuke for about what the escorts HT for, both level 49)
btw this camp respawns like a *******, kill an escort, he'll repop in short amout of time, guess the named are always supposed to have thier escorts.

The Lorekeeper part of the Porlos's Fury quest, its a level 60 wizard spell, does 2000 unresistable damage to certain types of Velious dragons. Quest is listed through several zones including Western Wastes.
And with 4 people I went from dubious to indifferent to CoV in this camp in about 2 hours. The fast spawn rate and the fact that they are Storm giant models(unlike the Frost giants in GD) means you get both more CoV raises and bigger raises for them since the CoV hate Storm giants more than frost ones.

He also followd then up with two more castings for another 600 or so when I pulled him. AT that point I decided time to get out.

I pulled one with Harmony and got hit by a spell for 551. It said "You writhe in the grip of agony. You have taken 551 points of damage." I don't know if this was a harm touch or a DD spell. I just ran and decided I better do a little research on these guys before I try them again.
