Warrior

On progression servers has Mitigation of the Mighty III buff and Presence of the Mighty III aura around him.

You say, 'Hail, Klandicar'

Klandicar says, 'Oi, what is this? A Wood Elf, if my tired old eyes are not mistaken. Knew it would happen. Sooner rather than later. No stopping the flood now, eh?'

You say, 'What flood?'

Klandicar says, 'The flood of beings to Velious. Starts with a trickle, like all floods. Sweeps the old away in the end, leaving a new landscape. Blessing and shame that I will not be around to see it all unfold.'

You say, 'Why will you not be around?'

Klandicar says, 'I will be leaving this world soon enough, I think. Too tired to continue this existence, too jaded to believe tomorrow would be any different than today. Seeing you here is the most exciting thing that has happened to me in aeons, and even that isn't enough to make me want to continue. Yes, it is the Necropolis for me, and the swift embrace of fire, and then my dust shall fly free as I once did.'

You say, 'You were free?'

Klandicar says, 'Dragons have never been truly free. The Claws, the Ring, the One Who Sleeps, our very nature, all conspire to keep us enslaved. We cannot grow beyond what we are now, so doomed we all are. Masters of this world we are not. Your very presence here screams this to any who have ears to hear. The Age of Scale is long past.'

You say, 'Why is the Age of Scale long past?'

Klandicar says, 'It proves how weak and static our race has become. Here you stand, in the most sacred of places, fearing nothing, daring to converse with me. If I were to consume you now, a dozen would appear to replace you. As mighty as Dragonkind is, we can never hope to match the power you wield. Dragons have limits set upon themselves, while you and your kind refuse to accept any limits. We cannot compete with that. If only we could throw off these shackles we bind ourselves with.'

You say, 'How can you throw off the shackles?'

Klandicar says, 'I do not see this happening. Too proud, too sure of ourselves, as a race we could never concede that we have anything to learn from the likes of you. We need a revelation. Something to open our eye, a poke in the rump. The Iksar almost woke us up, they had us united and striving for something for a brief while, but the Iksar Empire was in many ways as doomed as we are, too inflexible. What does not bend will break. The same could be said of the Kromzek.'

You say, 'Who are the Kromzek?'

Klandicar says, 'The Kromzek are also clinging to the old ways, they have changed no more than we have over the generations. We kill some, they kill some, nothing really changes. Now the Coldain, they are a group to admire, the first trickles of that flood I spoke of.'

You say, 'What about the Coldain?'

Klandicar says, 'I admire the Coldain They are strong because they adapt. They fought the Kromzek to a standstill, then pushed them back. They have not really crossed Dragons yet, but I feel that if they had a feud with us, they would present quite a challenge. And lo! There is a whole WORLD of peoples such as yourself, hardy and flexible as the Coldain, and here you stand at our doorstep, knocking.'

Uh.... click on the "Key to Sleeper's Tomb" link. They're both first brood dragons, so yes, they're brothers.

Well, while I don't know if Zlandicar and Klandicar are brothers or not, "First Brood" doesn't imply that they're brothers in the sense that they're born of the same parents. "First Brood" in this sense, is implied to be the first generation of dragons, or the first set of hatchlings.

That's why the Dars are also First Brood dragons, and not related to Klan/Zlan.

Slowable?
# Oct 24 2003 at 2:10 AM Rating: Decent
Tried him a few times today, NEVER landed slow. With full debuffs (Bard, Ench, and me (sham) including malos) I bounced 25 slows (both disease and magic, alternating) and never landed one.

While you might get lucky, I would be suprised if it was worth the loss of healing to dedicate a shaman to the off chance of a slow sticking.

I often do Kland with 3 or 4 people. Two shamans. The way we slow him is we get in a debuff(Malos), then we each try to slow him twice, then zone into Dragon Necropolis. We continue to do this until we get him slowed, then we try to get in a sinia for the wizard we bring along, reslow him(seems easier once the first one lands), and preceed to kill him.

He is slowable but it's not easy. Had to tash him then malos and malosinia. I also cast disease debuff. I tried both cloud of Grummus and Turgur's. Landed Turgur's after couple casts. Not much else stuck.

We took him down with one group (paladin, ranger, monk, druid, shaman, chanter... all 65... I am not ubah but they were.) It was quite a battle. Dropped sleeves, boots, mage and chanter spells as well as talisman for ST key. My faction took a dive from ally to warmly too.

Oh, forgot to mention, all said debuffers were 65 - as mention of Malos would indicate.

my guild has been farming alot of FB dragons lately, kland is kinda too easy now, we can do him with 20 people and not have 1 person die, of course we were all 60, depends on your guild, if your guild can do laps around Halls of testing you might have a chance on this guy
#REDACTED, Posted: May 16 2003 at 10:54 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) About how many people do you think it would take to take this guy down. From lvl 50-65. And i dont want to take any chances, so i want to have enough to take him down with few or no deaths.

Our guild and another just dropped him on Rallos. I personally got feared 4 times with 178 mr. You have to keep a insta click item up so when he starts dispelling you wont lose all of your buffs.
He dropped everything tonight.

Looking at the BPs he drops and while all the stats and stuff are kind of nice, the AC is really lousy - I'm going to be raiding this guy in a few mins and as a 53 SK with a Darkscale BP, I'm not drooling.

umm you dont kill this guy for the BP he drops, that BP should be sold by the guild to help fund more raids, the main reason why you kill him is to get into ST

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has a good list of instant click items that stack with most buffs that can be used to counter-act the effects of the AE one slot dispell? Or any other methods would be nice or do you mainly just give a few crappy fake buffs ahead of time?

Bracer of the Hidden procs best junk buff ever .... instant see invis. You can run around all day clicking away. It's instant hehe. Drops very rarely off Sarnak Legionairres in castle in Lake of Ill Omen. I got very lucky and got one my first kill hehe .... any ways hope this helps

Gnome tinkered telescope works well. Instant click zoom. as long as you don't mind a close up view of what you are fighting this and other clickable items like this work. Also if you have a mage, lev rings and EB stones also work though EB stones are easier as it won't take up your Armor slot
question
# Jan 23 2003 at 11:15 PM Rating: Decent
ok, i know this guy is a pud and all, but i was curious about what he says, about taking his heart to the fires in DN, does that mean take his talisman to that little lava pit where the lava elemental is at way into DN? just curious as to what it meant by that.

# Oct 21 2002 at 9:53 AM Rating: Good
He's cake if slowed, little tough if he's not. Need good dps even if he is slowed, or he'll just kill you slowly with his regen capabilities. My guild usually kills him with around 25-30.

Did it with 17 people...I was kinda surprised we pulled it off, but might have been able to do it with less if the right classes would have been there (ie.more wiz's, rogues).

Great post. Info is perfect.

I would add. The AE effect is also a single slot dispell, if you have a instaclick item you can keep ALL your buffs. Keep the casters back a bit until the first AE goes off then just kill like any other dragon. His fear lasts longer than Zlandicar's.

28 people, avg level 62 owned him.

What we done
# Jul 23 2002 at 2:38 AM Rating: Decent
We took him down yesterday the first time. So ill post what we did maybe it helps.
First of we was all ally to CoV and we took our raid force (if you have the DN Gate in your Back) to teh left wall of the canyon facing the right wall.
Then myself runned to the right wall as far from him away as i could to tash. My grouped magician then started to cast CotH and send me a "GO". After that i castet Tash and was coth'ed. Then our Bard kited him and landed occlusion on him and kiteted him. Our Shami landed Malo on him while he was kited and returned to camp.
The Bard then kiting him around because occlusion only holds 15 sec and it was neccesery that occlusion is fresh wen our bard kittet him into the camp.
After that was done, we all engaged and our shami, the bard and 2 Enchanter chain "slowed" him. The Shami landed slow after a couple of times..

Hes a Cake once slowed.
Took him down.. it was great.
# Jul 08 2002 at 3:07 PM Rating: Decent
Took him down the other day on the Seventh Hammer server. Our first attempt with 25 ppl was unsuccessful (was pretty close, but lag issues, an ineffective strategy with so few people, and slow never landing made it disastrous). Second attempt went extremely well we only had 3-4 more people (28 I believe) but went out with a better strategy, surrounded him invisibly, and even though slow didn't land until he was 70% dead there were minimal deaths if any. He dropped the talisman, a bp, and a couple of spells. Was the first dragon I'd help kill since Vox (other than that ghetto sea dragon in CS which happened to be up on the way to Klandicar :), and was great fun.

I come here trying to get an idea of how to kill this guy and all i see are a bunch of lame theorys on his level. Get with the program and post a little info on how best to kill this guy. Our guild got him to 40% life before the adds overwhelmed us we had about 32 people for this. The major problems we faced during this fight where ( 1 adds, and 2 AOE ) first fight we tried using the rock he stands near to block AOE that didnt work , ADDS continued to overwhelm our tanks picking us of one at a time before we could take this guy down. what is the BEST way to get this guys piggy bank?
RE: Strategy . level means nothing
# Jul 27 2002 at 2:53 PM Rating: Excellent
just a thought. After you clear the wandering mobs nearby the DB portal then station 2 non kos druids or rangers on the outter edges of the camp site.. they can harmonize any wanderers nearby.. especialy since harmony is 12min duration now.
RE: Strategy . level means nothing
# Jul 11 2002 at 2:43 PM Rating: Excellent
As far as adds go here is what we do. Have a druid stationed on top of the ridge one on each side. Kill off ALL wanderers inside the canyon that might path close by. Druids up on the ridge kite adds away once you engage kland. Keeping the adds out of the way can make or break your attempt at killing him.

That may constitute a full exp group but its hardly a full group in the sense of an encounter like this boy here. A shaman or chanter is very needed for this fight and some serious DPS, which you simply can't get via 3 melees.

I went from ally (not max ally) to warmly by killing sont, and went from high warmly to still warmly by killing kland. Was 2 days in a row, i did kill vindi in between but did not get back into ally.

#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 10 2002 at 8:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This guy is in Western Wasyes guarding the entrance to Dragon Necropolis (when he is up). He drops a talisman of some kind that is used in the Sleeper's Tomb key quest. In order to enter the tomb you have to have a key. Considering that he is a level 70 dragon i doubt you will be able to get there just for a "picture taking" trip. Also, he is sought after by all the higher end guilds on every server so it would probably be very hard for you to even get close to getting a key. Finally, Sleeper's tomb (and Western wastes) are on the continent of Velious. Sleeper's is in eastern wastes. Sleeper's tomb has only 60 + mobs so unless you are 60 and have a great guild, i would not go there. You probably could get the pictures of the sleeper as long as nobody killed the last warder (he triggers the unleashing of the Sleeper) but that would be extremely hard to do unless a guild cleared it. So, all in all, I dont think you will ever get to take this "picture taking trip" except in your dreams. Sorry man.

AoE IS resistable, max dmg is 400, debuffs one buff, that part is unresistable. Debuffs go in order of buffs so break out the crap buffs.
Slowable.
AoE fear is mild. Bring MR gear. Other resists are helpful but optional.
Cant report drops as we only got him to Half of the K in Klandicar =(
