Ok here is some relief... I know how to trigger their spawn. I have got 3 hearts now from 7 or so ghasts. Here's what you do... Bind at Gfay zoneline. 1) run on the right wall of zone (facing away from gfay zone) 2) It must be night for this to work 3) track all roaming unded an kill them over an over (helps if you shout for people to kill any roaming they see) 4) Every now and then gate to gfay zone line and go on the right wall facing away from zone line, checking track every couple of seconds for the rhancorous ghasts. There it is. Good luck

I have been after these little buggers for some time now, and I've come to the conclusion they like to spawn a lot more often when the ghoulboss or the necromancer larivk tvole is up, if you trigger the spawn of the necro or ghoulboss at the oblisk then zone to clear agro from him. the ghasts will spawn immediately after you slay 1, but the necro or boss HAS to still be up at the oblisk. It's gotten me 7 hearts in less than 1 hour, good luck. but i'd post a guard at the oblisk to keep stray people from running uup and killing the ghoulboss or necro, cause that's what keeps happening to me

I've been working on these ghasts for a couple days now. I've killed 10 and looted 2 Hearts. They do spawn during the day but they are definately more prevalent at night. Watch out for the Brownies...died three times alreadyhunting these things.
Also, if you don;t have Tracking, find someone who does. It's my observation that the Ghasts spawn in the vicinity of the Undead Obelisk, but their actual locations seem pretty random.

coned yellow to me at 8, killed him with 40 mana, just used ward undead bout 6-7 time and hit him for 18 a few time and down he went, didn't drop his heart though

I'm a 16 High Elf cleric of Tunare and there is nothing I hate more than this particular quest. I attempted it when I found out about it from doing the bone chips quest w/ my other char and attempted this bit with my main one. I have two hearts now and have killed almost a dozen of these things. Not only that, I have lost several levels repeatedly from those d*** brownie scouts and once the corrupted and tainted brownies. I have given up entirely on ever completing this quest until I can get Shared Wolf Form from a guildmember or buy one from someone. If anyone's on saryrn, drop me a line and we can try to kill these things together. Free heals, buffs, binds, cures, etc. to anyone who mentions this post. Excludes monetary units.
