Many may know but high shaman used (still might) drop a "odd cold iron necklace" (or something like that)....This was used in a quest in erudin where you turn it in and get exp. i was like oh wow typical quest but upon looking at my bags i found the necklace again, wow, so i turned it in again, AGAIN exp (thinks) hmm keep turning it in and maybe exp will be worth it...damn i was right went from 1 - 30 in one day pretty nice exploit, too bad they removed it :( well i got a bunch of alts 30+ from it. so im happy... and VI removed the quest person in the erudin cleric guild.. P.S. (exp was trucking at 53 on my wizard also)
Yeah, you really shouldn't play around on the king's throne if you're not the king. I was stealthily sneaking behind the king with my 27 monk to sit in his throne when I accidentally slipped off the side of it, and became wedged in the space between a torch (I think it's a torch) and the throne itself. As we speak, I am camped there. I tried to wriggle out in every possible way, and after no progress I figured I'd come out of sneak and try to make a break for it. Both the king and the high shaman to his right immediatly aggroed (being blue cons to me). I managed to fiegn death, sneak, sit, and camp. But I know the second I log on, I will be getting pummeled by the shaman, the king and his pet. I just can't wait.
So the moral of the story, kiddies, stay off the damned throne if it ain't yours...
ok i have a 32war and i spent many hours camping the king for cold iron. i picked up a full suit and the crown which only dropped once in the many of timei have killed the king.i have no problems killing the king and shammy at the same time and nothing ese in he room agrros me.ive stomped muglwump many of times too and he drops some caster items and a sk helm but they are all nodrops.the prince on the other hand rarely drops anyting good but i have manged to get 2 forlorn shields and a forlorn bracer off of him.the cook in this zone alo drops +3int food(bbq euridite)and the hunt master drops the forlorn bow wich i have only seen drop once in all of time spent here.its not the best bow but with a range of 125 it make a great pulling weapon for a war.oh ya ad a for the batmster guy or what ever his nam is dont een waste your time he drops a 2ac head item wich is also no drop LOL !!!!
I'd been clearing the Warrens with my 30 troll SK for Paineel faction when I come up on this sucker - he conned blue to me but everything else had been a cake walk, so I figured what the heck.
Hit him with a darkness so he wouldn't jet on me and then started laying into him - boom - he HTs me. Startled me a bit at first, but I just started lifetapping him non-stop and kept hacking. As I'm doing this, his shammy buddy is chain nuking me and his pet is swinging away too.
Got a bit worried, but SKs never run, we just take as many of the SOBs with us as possible, so I HT him back - he had two bubs left and went down and stayed down, so that means that he doesn't have any more than 750 hitpoints or so.
The shammy wasn't much of an issue after the king went down - ripped him a new one with little to no effort and took out the pet last with one or two good swipes. One or two other kobolds descided to try and jump in to save thier king, but they all ran after being swatted once each.
I've killed him three or four times now but no crown.
I came here once at 28 to take this guy out with a cleric friend of mine. Of course I pulled with tash and got the HT (, took me to half (chanters have the lowest hp in the game). But we took him down and got the Bokken off the shaman and the crown off the king. On the secound try I tried a new approach that I use now even at 33 here. The king is bigger than everything else in the zone, right, so just charm him. I think druids can do it and chanters sure can. Now at 33 the only thing that adds when I charm him is his pet. I charm, and pull to the corner, he HTs the pet and kills him, I invis to break charm and take him down. Then I take down the Shaman. Teh king is blue and the shaman is the new light blue. Even at 33 my buffed hp is 647, so I have to use this method or his HT takes me close to half right away. Even with my 110 rune II I will stick to charming. If you're a druid or chanter, now you know. And for those who can atone or mem blur, use it on a pet without a master and you get instant death. TTFN
Hi there people...i have killed this guy a number of times and he just wont drop any cold iron armor for me (so if anyone on the xev server has got any please send me a tell my name is Rtcole i am a dark elf shadowknight in my 19 season thankyou for helping me )
Rtcole 19 shadowknight of innoruk guild. <Dragons of Xev>
He will ALWAYS spawn with his buddy shaman(named) Drops good loot. Easy at 25. Just watch out for harm touches and ur good, not like it causes much anyway.
I have been to the Warrens off and on throughout my life of grand adventure. First at lvl 15, then again at 20 i left LoIo to come here, then again at 27 i left SK so i could go to Stonebrunt. I found that at 27 the only problem with trying to kill the King is that he has that High Shaman that likes to heal him and DoT you. Then again I am a Monk and I used the tactic of attacking him, absorbing the HT, then feigning and using a combination of Mend and sitting in the corner to get to full health. Then at full health with a Mend, I run in and kill the High Shaman, Feign and repeat the above process to get to full health with a mend. I usually wait at least 10 min between killing the Shamman and attacking the King to ensure a broken spawn. Then I murder the king. Sometimes i have to feign out and bind wounds to half but usually if I do the king runs after i hit him only a few times.
Then I check for the Warlord, Lorekeeper, Cave Bat Lord, and Huntmaster and kill them if they are up. On my way out of the Warrens I check the Prince and slaughter the Foodmaster (I have a canibalistic Erudite Mage who loves a good barbeque). After that it is off to the rages to drop off whatever loot i get at the bank. This gives me just enough time to run back to the throne room and clear out those nasty greater kobold shaman's that like to heal and SoW anything i am killing (how annoying) before the High Shaman pops and i kill him (he's a pushover if he's alone). Then it is just rinse and repeat on the procedure. I made 28 in about 2 days along with about 150PP and a full set of the visible pieces of Cold Iron for my SK (not bad for killing LOW blues).

DO NOT BREEZE THE MONK!!! It won't help him, it'll only $@#& him off!

Posted:Sep 17 2001 at 7:20 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I killed this guy and got a Cobalt BP ....Believe it!! he fought well though...it took me like 5 minutes to solo him at lvl 25. Another profitable day of hunting. BTW I'll sell that BP to anyone interested for a cool 100k. I'll give you a deal because of my easy fight.
The cold iron is actually the same as bronze armor. The only difference is that the cold iron has stats on it. regardless I think it's worth having. The only problem is that it wieghs more than bronze. Just something I found out. For me it means a lot cause my weak human is always on the edge of wieght. But yeah it does look WAY cooler!!!
their spawn time is like 1 hour . it's hell too camp cuz nostly he drops bronze weapons or booze . He isn't really hard , only if you run he casts . The cold iron is just fine plate witht eh magic resist on em which can be nice for low lvls
I went after this guy twice with my lvl 22 Troll ShadowKnight.
The first time, he and the High Shaman were both up, and I had a lvl 21 rogue with me. We cleared most of the higher level stuff from the room (including the Lorekeeper from the adjacent room), then I pulled the Shaman. After a being hit by a 241 harm touch and three 81 nukes from the shaman (plus a few other hits from the king and hit pet), I was flat on my back. My rogue friend was saved by a guardian angel that was watching over us...
The second time, I was in there alone and only the King was up. A lvl 34 warrior took the harm touch and killed the pet, then he let me have the king. I took him out with a couple bubbles of health left. I looted the corpse, and what did I get? A measly 5pp.
Can anyone tell me a strategy to get INTO this zone? I am a 30 iksar monk who wants in on the crown of the forlorn... Email me at XarulizRE@yahoo.com if you have an idea on how to sneak past the paineel guards... thanks for listening...
