In Kael Drakkel, the King's Madness: Part of the event "The Madness of King Tormax" (see this quest entry for the group version and this quest entry for the raid version).
Lord Yelinak was one of the Top-end encounters when velious was released... and raids back then were only designed for about 30 people.
A single balanced EP gear'd group should be able to take him no problem, as long as group resists are in good ranges.

Well, guild people decide to do a pick up raif for it so I joined. Kinda bad guy attack fast with 200-500s. Cleric hide close to water with levitate, ranger shoot their arrow from doorway. Finally killed it with 17 peeps. Was a fun fight ^^. And gratz me on my ST key ^o^
Veeshan wouldn't be "The Leader", since she hasn't been seen since the creation of the Dragon race thousands of years ago.
Yelinak is Lord of the Dragons on Velious. (The King, if you will) Vulak is the Arch Priest of Veeshan, on Velious. (The Pope, if you will) Phara-Dar is the leader of the Dragons on Kunark, who are in direct OPPOSITION of the Velious Dragons.
I too am also looking for help in finding yelinak. I've made it to the point where you must select between the red and green gems, but can't go farther than that. The red takes me to kael, and the green loops me back.
forget those portal stones. Wrong Room. click the pulsing orb. (think the one in the back). Doesn't work to well, I had to click about 10 times real fast to get ported.
Did the same for me last night... clicked on it, expecting to go back down to the first floor...
Nope!... :P
Ended up in Kael at the Eastern Wastes zoneline. I was freaking out when it first said 'Entering Kael...' I was quite worried that it would put me someplace crazy like the throne room or the Arena... :p

The pulsing orb mentioned rotates a full turn and then comes to a VERY brief stop. It is at the stop that I have the most success clikcing into the next area. It is a timing thing - just keep at it - you will get there.
could anyone give me the loc where yelinak spawns plz. i have been carrying around king tormaxs' head for 2 weeks and cannot seem to find the old geezer. i want my boots!!
hmmm you make that seem complicated.... all we had about 23 people.... we did the CoTH killed the drakes.... there was no wandering Crusader (we mighta been lucky) we sent in MT with defensive, then he calkled assist and we kept CH rot on him till yeli was dead heh, then we got some O.K. loot and made another person happy with there ST key, the end !
I recently fought Yelinak the other day. Here is how the fight went. You need to get a mage to CoH just away from his room, in a place where there are no drakes that you can aggro. Once the raid force is all CoHed and buffed, start having a monk split the drakes. These drakes flurry and rampage but are fully slowable. You need to do this ASAP, because there is a wandering Crusader Dragon with an AE slow/dot that will eat you alive if you aren't ready for it. Once you clear the drakes from outside Yelin's room, you can move up to the gate where the drakes were. Start pulling the drakes from inside his room. Once all the drakes are dead, make sure all buffs are done and good. You NEED to have a levatiation buff on, because the floor in Yelin's room is all ice and slippery. Have the MT rush Yelin's room first, so Yelin's AE goes off. Yelin's AE is a mana drain and 300 DD, ice based. Easy to resist, and he casts it about every two minutes. Once Yelin's first AE goes off, have the clerics run to the LEFT ramp in his room. The left ramp meaning the left from the room entrance, facing Yelinak. Start the CH rotation at about 3-4 secs, and make sure the MT is defensive. Yelin only hits 125-400 and sometimes 500-600. But he does this FAST. Yelin is NOT slowable, but he is cripplable.Once defensive drops on the MT be ready to switch to a new MT and have him go defensive. Since the AE will be eating the clerics mana, they will be losing about one CH a round, so it is imperative you have an MT switch with defensive. Have a back up healer, like a shaman or druid all the way down the ramp out of AE range to heal regular melees when they get low health. HOWEVER, you CANNOT heal the MT from the bottom of the ramp. It is out of range, so your clerics will most likely be eating the mana drain and DD. This isn't really that bad. Yelinak has a little more, if not that same HPs as Vindi. I estimate about 100-150k. The fight lasted about 7 minutes, and at the time we only had 28 people. But with the forces that usually go after him, say 35+ it will be a lot quicker. Once Yelin is dead, distribute the loot and have a nice day. Hope this post helped alot of people.
My guild took this beast out today. Put casters/healers with DMF in the water and it went like clockwork very few deaths and we were undermanned at the time.
Why not undermanned? Zerg means way more than necessary so I'm not sure you're making sense. That's not undermanned.
My guild uses strategies, skill, and sometimes pure luck to take out mobs like RC and certain dragons all the time. Undermanned. In other words we use less people than other guilds or what is "recommended". For example. RC went down with no cleric (they got agro and died on the first CH), and we had way fewer people than anyone was willing to try him with a year ago to begin with. We thought it was over after a couple more deaths and no cleric so we gave the order to zone. Half the raid left, the other half realized we were winning anyway and called them back. We still won.
Yes, mobs can be killed without the stereotypical groups or raids. You don't "have" to have everything to the letter like everyone seems to think. It's more fun when you're not cloning someone elses raid.
I have Tormax's head and want to know my faction standing with Yelinak to turn it in. If I am allied with the Wuoshi Dragon what faction would I have with Yelinak? Or what is best way to test faction with him. I am allied with everything in Skyshrin on level one.
I believe his spawn time is 7 days, same as Dain and Tormax, and he will pop upto 24 hours after server comes up. He is also a complete wussy seeing as he casts his AE every 2 mins and if u got someone calling his AE then casters can hide when AE is about to land and come back after it has hit. We dropped him a few weeks ago, dropped his head, talisman, 2 rings and 2 robes. on karana he is on a rotation so we only get to kill him once every few months.
I am not even going to think about going through all these posts on whatever haha. So can someone please tell me the king of the dragons spawn time? I would really like to know like when he spawns some peeps on my server said it was like 1 week, every Friday. But heck I dont know. Any help would be great thanks guys !! Oh and also could I know if that stuff about him ACTUALLY turning into a skelly was true? I mean jeeze LOL.
Zantetsukane Odinsfury 55th Level Teir'Dal Revenant Rune of War Veeshan Server!
Whats with all these guilds talking about sending 25 of each class and killing yelinak in 30 seconds, or dying with 79 people?
He is just your average dragon, doesnt hit too hard and his hps are low compared to NToV, bosses of Kael, and basically all bosses in Luclin...with all the aaxp and new equip from Luclin, a guild with a balanced group of 24 should be able to do him easy...Ive been on raids with much less than that. Just set the tanks in after MT has aggro, get the healers to start working, and get your casters to attack from across the room.
Im jw whos harder, speaking from xp pls, the new post patch sontalak(unslowable) or lord yelinak. My guild regurally kills sontalak with around 60 people, we have not broekn ntov yet. We have mostly epics and mostly lvl 60s( most people have near completition of full hot armor also)

i think maybe one caster got mana drained the whole time and the fight was fairly easy. i believe he was nerfed. i know him being rooted now helps tremendously.
