My group was very disappointed. As well was I. He may drop something and he may not I have only killed him once and i wont try again because he doubles for 255+ if you decide to kill him do it with caution!

we fought the sob for an hour+ with 35 people. The guy has atleast 400k hps and hits for 350 +bash.

Red to a 60 stupid, and he would NEVER not have any loot. There would never be a mob like this with no loot at all, just think about it, why would they do that?

About a year and a half ago we dropped Cazic Thule and he had no loot. We petitioned and the GM said there is nothing he could do about it and that loot tables are random. Yeah it sucked...but it can and does happen, albeit on the very rare occassion.

It's also possible that the original poster killed Frostreaver when Velious first came out and the MOB had not been loaded with loot or was not "finished". It's very possible that Dain was 60 at the time and did not have loot.

I'll agree with that. They have done a lot of patches. Maybe the loot and level was one of them. But I do agreen now that he is very tough and has loot. He is also part of two quests in which you have to talk to the storm giant King. The Best Belt in the game and Best Gauntlets in the game are given for killing Dain.

has any body punched this guy to see how hard he hits? if the thing in the Fae is true then he must be tuff as bleeding hell * ie tuffer then trak much tuffer*

GREAT looking hammer. Some friend of mine says it has great stats and he supposedly gives a SUPER hard quest for the hammer besides dropping it. It was not on him previous to the latest patch but is now, or he just sometimes spawns without it perhaps.

Actually if you have ever read The Hobbit the leader of the Dwarf Army is called the Dain as a title. Alot of Everquest draws from The Lord of the Rings as well as other fantasy, adventure genre as well some things from popular culture, on top of the blatant self promotion of the game's creators.
According to everquest.com this guy is the King.
