HPs

The one I killed went down from 9K dmg done to it. They are slow running. Run3 or Jboots is sufficient. Easy quad with KEI and if you have good SS faction, so you don't have to waiste mana fending off the wyrms. Not sure if it gates at 20% health like the mastidons do...

Actually, they don't gate, but they can warp back to spawn point if they are too far away from you and start to flee. The will warp back to spawn point and regain some HP and retain aggro on you. I think that is what he is referring to as "gating"

Actually, distance from the mob has no bearing on whether or not it warps to bind. I've tested it by letting snare wear off when under 20 percent from begging distance to out of casting range, and it happens regardless. Now, they only warp on me when under 20 percent and snare wears off, literally the instant it wears off. But this is not just a WW bug, I've had it happen in almost all velious zones, and had friends had it happen to them in some luclin zones. I also tested it by taking a bronto down to apx 50 percent, rooted it, and ran well out of sight range. He didn't warp, regain any hps other than normal regen, and was really close to where I parked him after root wore off.

The bug you are referring to happens in PoP zones, Nightmare is where I've tested this on a tree. The mobs do warp if you run too far away from them, regain alot of hps (from 2 percent to 35 percent), and then re-aggro on you, most likely because you went back into range. And that happens anytime you get too far away from them, not just under 20 percent, and snare wearing off has no bearing on whether it happens or not.

These bugs have been known to SOE for a long time now, especially the velious ones, so not sure if they are ever going to bother fixing them.

it is neither NO DROP drop or LORE.
Not a so rare drop since I've already looted 3 after 5 or 6 fear kited brontos. If you need one, send me a tell I'll be happy to give you one.

Hides?

What are their hides for?
RE: Hides?
# Oct 24 2002 at 11:37 AM Rating: Decent
There are new Skyshrine bard quests (went live on Stormhammer in October) for Draconic instruments. Apparently, one of the components for the Draconic Drum is a cured Brontotherium hide. So save 'em for your friendly neighbourhood tuneslinger!
Fun for druids!

An excellent pet. With Potc,speed(70%),strength,regen and ds - these rock. He did lose against the named cleric out there but got the cleric to 20% after the cleric ch'ed 3 times and a few minor heels. He easily keels the glacier mastadons and the wyverns. Just make sure you root him, snare him, put 2 dots on him then dc him. If dc sticks then you have it in the 5th spot which is less of a chance to get dispelled. Also, don't forget to rebuff him after all your other dots and snare stuff wear off! FUN!

yeah from listed level it would appear dc would work, maybe one of the only useful dc'able mobs out there at all for druids, but you know as soon as anyone does something good, verant will patch to NERF level to 47 lol

another great option for dire charm, Chokadai Growler in Chardok....buff him up,he can tear apart all other mobs in the general area
RE: two words...
# Aug 25 2002 at 2:11 AM Rating: Good
when you say to dire charm him, are you talking about druids too? cause it says hes flaged as a "monster" so im sure an enchatner could charm him but, my question is, is he really a animal, there are very few high level creatures druids can dire charm.

Yes Brontotheriums are animals, they look like rhinos don't they. Also velium hounds, glacier mastadons, and even the ice burrowers are animals in the zone.

Yes, Bronto's look like animals. However, I believe Treehugin was referring to the Chokadai Growler in the post that he actually replied to, not the Bronto's in WW.

Hmmm.....

I have been doing fine with snare/fear kite on my 55 ranger. They do resist more than previous mobs I have done this one though (i.e. Rhinos, walrus, dire wolves).

RE: assist
# Oct 25 2001 at 2:48 PM Rating: Default
Hmm, definately wrong. I've been soloing in WW for a long time now and I've never had anything assist. Velium hounds will attack because they attack everything. Not sure about the animals assisting dragons because I'm ally to them but I've killed hundreds of Glacier Mastadons and a few Velium hounds with dragons standing right on top of me. Animals will of course assist each other but If you're KoS to CoV factioned mobs you shouldn't be hunting here unless you're on a raid.

#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 07 2001 at 3:54 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I believe that I have previously read that those are animals.
