Zlandicar is a cannibal dragon. He has attained the taste for his dead brother's flesh. He was outcasted by the Claws of Veeshan, in particular Lord Yelniak.

More useful info,

Dragon has about 64k hps if I remember right, he isnt Dragonbaneable. Most of the tactics above are fine, real issue is dealing with his Disease based AOE. With Shaman resist, maybe bard song should be easily able to get your raid or group depending on level and abilities to resist his AOE with 300 DR. Its cureable, Radiant cure, pretty sure Paladins Crusaders Touch works on it also. Probably even counter disease though that might take several casts to remedy it.

Zlandi hits for 600s if I remember right, his melee dps is very containable, usually most people die from DOT if they dont resist it. So break up your healers if you try him with more than one group. A group of 65s could easily kill Zlandi. 3 groups of 55+ could kill him if they had the right people, 3 clerics, 2 bards, and good damage, solid Main tank. Easily the easiest of the First Brood dragons, also drops the only droppable key to Sleepers.

We did this last night with one group + 1 of lvl 65's. Enc, Clr, Pal, Bard, Sham, Mage, Rogue.

Not even close to being a close fight. Cleric had no problem keeping up with heals and had plenty of mana left after.

Well, this guy is one of our Tier mobs on Legends and we took him out yesterday.
It's pretty much essential to have a bard there for the resist song. Zlandi AE fears, so basically once you get in his lair, make sure you're set to walking. The 2 MT set up is a perfect tactic, a rotation on clerics is good too. Paladins are another great class to have here, because while you're clerics are on the CH rotation they can group heal during the fight.
So basically what we did was, have 2 MT's, Bard song, CH rotation, a nice amount of dps and a good amount of nukers. Buffed up, invised, ran into lair, MTs started the attack, gave about 10 seconds for them to gain agro, and the other melee went in. With walk on, each time I got feared I was still at max melee with him. His dot will remove the first buff, so place a cheesy one there, I had shield of the 8th up in that spot. Didn't take too long once we started the attack. Drops were decent and people were awarded loot based on our DKP and wish list system.

Wait a minute - you mean you have to KILL Zlandicar on the Legends server? They don't just arrange a time for a GM to come death touch so you can loot what you need? Man, forty bucks and you still have to get your hands dirty. You guys are getting RIPPED OFF!

RE: a bit more info
# Oct 16 2002 at 3:30 PM Rating: Decent
Felong, if you are killing Zalandicar, you should know better than to suggest everyone set themselves to walk. I think it was last November or December that this was changed by Verant so that no matter if your walking, running, SoWed, ducking.. no matter what.. you still are feared at the same speed.

Thank-you

One thing that HASNT changed for sure is that the "Stun" effect caused by Dragon Fear means that you continue to move (or rotate) at the same rate you were when you got hit with the stun. So, while you may not run off into the hills in a random direction when hit with that, it will certainly mean that if you CHARGED at the Dragon and got feared, you will be quite some way away from the dragon when it wears off. As such, it does make sense to turn run off etc.

32k for HP and you need DR and MR for this guy (well DR for his ae and MR for his fear). He's easiest of the first brood (ST key dropping) dragons. Have Fun

No WAY his hp are 80k. We took him down with 24 in less than a minute, he fell as fast if not faster than gore. 32 - 50k hp MAX.
RE: Want info
# Jan 09 2004 at 12:29 PM Rating: Default
hps are around 80k. youd be surpised how much damage you really do. between my 65 ranger and 65 beastlord duo alone i can put out roughly 14.5k dmg in a minute (120 dps per char) raid buffed without using any special abilities and im not even uber.

Using disc and AA's comboes together on both chars, each char can more than double his dps over the course of a minute (two for the ranger).

Spawntime is not 3 days, timed him perfectly since his death. He must be one
of those mobs that are 3 days +/- 12hrs or 3-5 days, so basically...random
through 5 days..........

Dragonbane works on Velious Dragon and/or CoV if I m right, then Zlandicar doesn t need RP but RD .... You can also raise RM as well. He's piece of cake for 30+ ppl if not 24 as Wuoshi/Trak/Sev ... we re not Afterlife (ect) and killed it in 4mins06 without any death with 30 ppl.
He's slowable by WS and Shm/Enc spell.
He dropped component for ST Key and First Brood Talisman but didnt got it (damn!) as a Shm 60 :(

Well because this thread lacks it, let me post some useful information on Zlandi.

Zlandi is a big bad dragon however he doesnt per default hate everyone, he doesnt hate my DE SK. He hates most of your raid though. So after buffing up the cleverest thing you can do is to have a pally run into his lais invisible, drop invis, get DA up and drag him into a corner with the back to the entrance. Next you run your raid in and maintanks engage without Zlandi taking potshots at whomever he hates most first. Works quite nicely.

As for the fight itself, IMHO he is VERY weak, usuaully on raids against him we have 30-40 people but I dont think that with Kunark-Velious armor & weapons you need more than 5 balanced groups to handle him. Honestly I couldnt tell you if Dragonsbane sticks on him, I would assume it does but correct me if Im wrong.

Essential for the entire thing is IMHO the shaman / necro buffage which should for most of your raid get poison resist to 200+ or higher. With this you will NOT resist his spell always however from all I can tell even if you dont resist his spell the DoT still does some resist check which seems easier to resist. At least this is the only sensible explanation I have for me not resisting the spell itself as a lvl 60 SK with 256 PR but on the other hand not taking a single point of damage during the entire fight.

# Jan 22 2002 at 9:12 AM Rating: Default
Considering how USELESS this entire chain of posts is, I figured I would actually post something that would help people with this N00b. Anyway he is the easiest of all the first brood dragons. Does that make him easy, well kinda :) He has his own faction so when you enter the zone for the first time you are not KoS! Yes go bounce around him and stuff and set up a raid right infront of him. You can even "/tell Zlandicar we will kill you now, mmmk?" Anyway, another thing is he does NOT see invis so that is nice also. Fight him there, he gates so set up invis go over there. If someone says invis is fading have MT break his invis and attack... blah blah. Worry about MR and DR (this guy is trak version2 except with disease...) Um i'd say 4-5 groups is enough to do it. If you are thinking well I am level 50 so I will take 6 groups of 49-53, dont. You will fail. As for tactics... hehe that you need to figure out on ur own like every other guild did :) Enjoy him, he is the easiest way to get a Sleeper's Tomb Key and only has a three day spawn time. Feel free to flame me if I messed anything up :)

RE: USEFUL INFO
# Jan 22 2002 at 9:38 AM Rating: Decent
Unless of course you want to quest the heart along with Vaniki's and get another 15/23 weapon for one of the tanks. Necros I know would use their epic over the heart, warriors would throw their epic into a backpack (only to bring out in EC to show off) and use the 15/23 weapon.

Im a necro, and i would destroy my epic for this heart. Any guild that gives the zlandheart to some idiot tank or rogue for an offhand weapon quest is either
1. Full of retards
or
2. Full of necros who already have Zland heart in their pri
