Going to try.
# Feb 04 2003 at 1:51 PM Rating: Default
Going to try to do him on the Torvonnilous server. Never seen him on track with my 38 ranger. But I guess we'll have to do something to kill time... I'm going to try him with this group. 65ranger, 63rogue, 55druid, 50shammy, and a 40 druid.. Think we can take him? I will be on my 40 druid for healing. And probably try to nuke some after we get it slowed...
I think we can take him out no problem.
How about you? Tell me what you think please.

We just dropped him today with a 58 Pally, 56 Ranger, 55 mage, 54, wizard, and of course a 55 shammy. It was one heck of a fight. All the casters were oom and the pally used LoH as lodi enraged, but LoH was not really needed, more of a precautionary thing. I'd say one group of 55+ can handle him with ease as long as you have a shaman.

Spawns in the water and comes ashore by the gnolls on same island as ToFS. The gnolls talk about him when he is about to come ashore and they all start to stand guard. (Like they could actually do something about it. Heh hee)

Yeah we all have the same problem with CiH...They pretty much do as they please...

I will say that I got invited to a Gore raid the other night, and after the 2rd wipe...

TWO mag's from CiH came in and nuked Gore DOWN...

Then to the surprise of everyone they gave all the loot to the Raid Leader to pass on to the peeps waiting for the 3th try at him...
yep Ks'ers make me sick as well
# Jan 09 2003 at 12:54 PM Rating: Default
Yeah. I too have been ks'd once before as well. An uber guild on my server Cats in Hats had the timer down pat, logged in 7 of there members and owned him, laughing in ooc about it. I contacted GM and he basically told me to stuff it. Said, " Its not a camp so there is nothing in regards to camp rules that I can do about it". Oh well, as all I care about is the friggin map piece for my mask, keep all other loot dont give a damn about it. I guess what the GM was telling me is that if I go level myself 10 more lvls to max and bring along my 63 shaman friend, I too can **** off some poor chap thats been waiting 7 moths to complete his mask quest.

Kinda sad all, that this is what EQ has come to, used to be a time when people loved to help wanna another as bettering a friend in the game meant you could do more cause your buddies were hooked up to.

NP though, ive had it with being the nice guy, helping others and not getting shi*, I'll never be CiH uber as majority of you Rape every zone u go to for your own personal benefit.

But.... now on out. I'll ks the p'ss out of anything I want and tick off everyone in every zone that tries to do things right. 'cause it doesn't benefit me one bit to paly fair anymore, and if to gain a respectable status in this game via uber loot means to destroy the fair game play standard that EQ once held, then by all means LET THE GAMES BEGIN.

Watch your back joo, Ive caused your death a few times without you knowing it, and I'll do it a million more, loot *****....

I'm just curious, can a level 60 necro, along with Emisary of Thule, solo this turtle? I'm tempted to try, but I didn't want to find out the hard way.

I also heard that he cannot be snared or rooted - can someone verify this? If so, fear kiting with darkness might be out of the question.

Lodi's camp sucks and so do the GMs
# Dec 17 2002 at 6:40 AM Rating: Default
I have been there camping him 2 times now just so I can get my monk the map piece and a friend the shield. Both times I've been KSed and the GMs do nothing about it. You can take Lodi down with ease as long as you have a descent Tank and Cleric .... don't even need a slower but hard to Kill you when whole guilds come and just take him from you and the GMs had evidence of KSing but thier policy was if they already looted it then they can't do nothing for you ... which promotes KSing so from now on if someone is killing something I want i WILL KS thanks to the GMs who helped :( just 16 hours wasted ... Don't blame the player for this attitude. If the people who are supposed to enforce the rules don't, then there really are no rules.

Yes, blame the players. The game has guidelines and the idea of fair play and basic common courtesy should be maintained regardless of whether or not the GMs enforce anything. If people can't be decent in a game, what chance do they have of being so in RL?

now that he is on the 11hour + 0 to 50 min it's easy to camp. got my guild together saturday morning and he dropped easy. he dropped the map part, 2 pairs of boots, 2 shield sections, 3 spells (monster summoning 3, spear of the ice soloist (?), and the 60 ranger predator spell).

hits for 300's, and my sk dd spell was landing for 60-100 out of 400 after tash.

My guild has killed him all this week (got the shield, yay!) and he has never dropped any spells. Shell pieces, boots, belts, rings, map pieces and clubs but no spells. I know he used to drop them (got a few myself a few months ago) but no longer it appears.

RE: hrmmm
# Nov 20 2002 at 7:09 PM Rating: Default
I am assuming you are asking a 60th+ Shaman to spend hours camping Lodizal in order to sell you all of his loot for 2k.

Since said Shaman could simply loot the 20K+ worth of stuff Lodizal usually drops, my guess would be no.

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 04 2002 at 11:52 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) BTW, Lodi now drops 59th lvl BST Spell: Spiritual Purity. 7/tick HP/Mana regen.

I doubt it, he summons and hits very hard. I suspect you would be eaten very quickly unless FD worked.

Best way to beat Lodi is to get a Shaman, once slowed he is cake.

Thats what the chanter is for...SLOWING
Lodi
# Oct 16 2002 at 11:56 PM Rating: Default
Here's the basics.

Level 60 mob, non caster. No noticeably high resists in any areas, hits pretty weak for his level. Soloable with a 60 shaman with Torpor and slow.

Single group doable, certainly. If you're trying with low level types, kite him around a bit first with non damaging spells. Land a snare, malo, tash, and slow before engaging... don't damage him during this time. Once this is done, engage. From here on out it's a very easy fight. Standard tank and kill job.

Maybe so...but i think the idea of not hittin him with any damage spells....is to reduce agro and get him debuffed for the tanks to move in

shammy in Hoss did it at 60, but wouldn't be wise to try w/o a lot of experience and at least ToV type gear
Correct spawn times
# Oct 16 2002 at 10:59 AM Rating: Good
I should have posted this back in June when I figured it out but guilds were farming Lodizal to sell the drops. I thought that sucked so I wasn't going to help them out.
From my own experience I can tell you for a CERTAINTY that Lodizal's spawn time is now 11-14 hours. I have seen him spawn at exactly 11 hours and exactly at 14 hours (when I got my last map piece). I have also seen him spawn in between 11&14 hours. A fairly recent patch (6/5/02, I think) changed the spawn times on a lot of creatures. Lodizal (and Stormfeather, see below) were 2 of them.

The above information is absolutly certain. The following I'm just pretty sure of: Lodizal and Stormfeather are somehow linked. Either one or the other will pop, or maybe both, or neither (A binary roll of the dice). And the neither option may not apply because in the short time that I figured this out and I got him either Lod or SF popped at the correct time. Spawn times are the same for both. I camped Stormfeather before the 'spawn time change' patch and went through the old '18-19 hour skips-a-lot' spawns.

Check the posts since 6/5/02 and my information fits right in.

Good Hunting :)

Killed lodi 2 times in the last couple of days. Did with 3 people both times. First was 60sk 57cleric 60ench. Second time was 60sk 57cleric and 52sham. The key is to get him slowed, then its cake. First kill was after about a day of camping, and he dropped 2 shells, boots, ring, and map. Second kill was luck, 60sk was camping SF, SF popped, he killed, he checked lodi, and he was up. Loot on second was 2 shells, club, ring, 3 spells, and the map.

Here is the text from my log on the lost pirate. He is kinda picky on some steps with how u word things so I would suggest u use the wording below that I know worked for me:

You say, 'Hail, a lost pirate'
a lost pirate twitches and growls a little. 'Arrr. Grrr. Ahoy, mate. The name's Teep.' He shivers and you notice a little drool at the corner of his mouth. 'Ya ain't lost out here too, are ya?'

You say, 'i am lost'
(no response from him)

You say, 'what map?'
a lost pirate nods. 'After we got ourselves stuck on this island I got it in me head to draw up a map so none o' the crew would ever get lost. So I set myself to explorin' and drawin'. Now the map is gone. Too bad, too, cause it was a map o' the whole place, not just the first island, but a bunch o' parts.' Mention of the map seems to have sobered him up a bit.

You say, 'where gone'
a lost pirate says 'Aye. I lost the first part walkin' through the woods. Some big wolf bowled me over 'n started to tear me book up. 'Fore I could stop, it he ran off. I'm not knowin' why. The second part, heh. That was worse.'

(I never asked him about the first part of the map)

You say, 'where second part'
a lost pirate shivers. 'The second piece I lost, well, that put the fear o' Bertox in me. I was still in the woods at the time. It was at night. Cold and crisp, it was. I heard a flappin' and squawkin' above me and I knew my time was near. So I up and jumped into a snow drift. Soon as that, somethin' swooped down where I was and started tearin' my camp up. When I came back, I saw nothin' but feathers and me torn up book. Another quarter o' me book was gone.'

You say, 'where third part'
a lost pirate says 'Huh? Oh, the other pieces? I gave a piece to a mate o' mine 'cause he wanted to help. Nice enough fella but he couldn't find north from a hole in the hull. Last I saw he wandered off towards the bridge. The last piece went away after I stumbled and fell down here. After a while I didn't care, so I threw it in the water. It floated off. Seems like everythin' that goes wrong ta me is because of some danged wild animal. I can't quite figger it.'

You say, 'what is chapter P'
a lost pirate stares at the water. 'I'm rememberin' that. Yah. Ami's book. Thats what I drew, erm, the fifth part o'n. It got lost in the ocean too.' He looks at you. 'Yer wantin' ta go out and find all o' these pieces?'

You say, 'i want to find the parts'
a lost pirate laughs. 'Its yer funeral, boyo. I'm not even sure they're readable. Oh, well. Here, take this. It's the cover of the book I was puttin' the map in. If ya get the first four parts, put em in there. If ya get the fifth, just go give it ta Ami the way ya find it. Hey, if ya find em all, come get me so I can find me way back. I'm thinkin' I'd like ta go back now.'

(the lost pirate gives u a 4-slot combine container)
(put your 4 map pieces in it and hit combine)

You have fashioned the items together to create something new!

(I turned in the *combined* container to him)
(He gives u a completed map back in return)

a lost pirate grins widely and slaps you on the arm. 'Har har! You're crazier than I am. And since I know that I must not be that crazy after all. Ahh, I haven't felt this good in ages..' He shuffles the pieces and jots down a few notes here and there. 'There, now it's really finished. Let's get us outta here. Hold this fer me.' As he starts to try and crawl up the hill, a sleek figure darts towards him.

You gain experience!!
(immediately a Rabid cougar spawns on top of the lost pirate and attacks u--he didnt drop any loot)
Rabid snow cougar claws YOU for 74 points of damage.

Turn the completed map into Captain Nalot and he gives u the eyepatch--grats!
