I've heard that she, like some other mobs in Growth, have spells that nullify everyone elses ability to cast spells. Simple way around this is to die. Get a rez mid fight, and go back at it. AfterLife and FoH use this tactic, ya know. i think. =)

There was an attempted raid on her on Eci and she casted WORD OF SILENCE No one can cast ANYTHING for 1/2 hr RL TIME If U think I am jokeing u go try it! The whole raid was destroyed..I dont suggest anyone try her for a long time

Than All at once alla caasters go up to her with there strongest spell. than all at once cast it on her along with the warriores hitting her.. Than keep it up tille she does her spell thing and fomr there when all those mobs come keep going for her till she dies..............................................Try it, it should work.

Actually a tactic that would be far more appropriate would be this, send in a non-kos kamikazi to pull her, drag her to the raiding party (kamikazi then dies to preserve faction) BUT as the pull is inc, all clerics cast DA and all bards (bards MUST be level 60) turn on their group wide DA song which prevents spells from sticking to people under effect of Divine Aura. Seeing as gods/dragons ae is not chain cast, you have a significant amount of time to do a ton of damage, at this point, the above posters idea isn't quite that bad as the casters are going to have to die upon her second AE of Word of Silence, after death, everyone rushes back in and continues nuking until 3rd AE, and so on. As with any uber mob in Velious the fight should take 10-20 min depending on healing abilities and number of hp, for her, I'd guess with a good compliment of 50 people, would probably still take 15-20 min. All of this will require precise timing which will be extremely difficult for 50 people, I could think of maybe 3 guilds in all of EQ that might be able to pull off her death.

problem with that idea is that she's way up in a tree tower in a not so big room. if the aggro range is as wide as they normally are for planes, she'll spot the whole party as it's trying just to climb the tree tower. god forbid she cast word of silence while the party climbs the tree. if the spell doesn't affect the entire zone, i'd be pulling tunare out with sacrifical bait before even trying this.

If she is your god, then for roleplaying sake don't kill her. While it makes sense that she has the +999 Wis, etc... item, they could easily make you quest for it. She should be willing to give it up if you can successfully kill the god of hate. (or whatever other evil god is available). If your her follower and you kill her I would have to agree that you should loose some serious faction points with every good npc.
I think so too. I think that gods should give out quests to kill their sworn enemies. Of course, you have to be aligned with the god who is giving the quest.

Tunare the Great Elf Mother is a High Elf? Then how do you explain the Wood Elves? She is after all our mother too. And she is a druid, and I have never heard of a High Elf druid.

okay, someone is WAAAYYY behind. This subject was covered from the very beginning. everyone had a big huge argument. it was entertaining. my personal opinion: look in the little EQ manual. the drawing of Tunare looks more like a HIE. also, like someone in the big huge argument said, Tunare lends us one of her forms, she doesn't just take on one of ours. and, she's a goddess, she can be a HIE druid if she wants.

Gods lends their shape to beings to create little people that resemble themselves. However, they can also create other beings more unlike themselves. Brell created goblins, gnolls, dwarves and gnomes, how would you propose he would look like if Gods looked like what they created?

Cazic Thule instills fear in his followers, if you can kill him you no longer fear him. Innoruuk preaches hatred, wouldn't the ultimate hatred be for the one you worship and created you? i agree tunare shouldn't carry druid gear or any of that, inspiring players to kill their own god without reason isn't the way to keep a roleplaying game going. However there can be a story behind sk's and evil warriors killing their own gods, and other evil classes, depending on their deity as seen above

It's not stupid. Think about it this way. Wouldn't the most powerfull Shadowknight in the game use the most powerfull Shadowknight gear. What is a Shadowknight going to do with druid gear?

They still are, just apparently not this one. Verant failed to lay down some guidelines, so people don't care, i love roleplaying, been an addict for almost 6 years, and i'd roleplay in Everquest if it weren't for the children who stare at you dumbfounded and because they have no idea what you're doing, shout insults. I couldn't care less of the insults, they mean nothing and lack creativity, but rping without an audience is quite frustrating

Every time you log into EQ you ARE roleplaying! That is of course unless you ARE a Gnome, Halfling, Erudite, Troll ECT in real life. If not, then buddy, you're roleplaying. The difference is how well you do it.

Yeah me and my uber guild "Asskickers Anonymous" went there the other night, we basically mugged everything in the zone and when we got to Tunare she begged us not to kill her, even gave our cleric his epic cuz he followed her. We still kicked her ***, it took 5 hours cuz the beatch kept complete healing herself and yelling at us, calling us infidels and communists and such. We finally kicked her *** and all the little elfs in Gfay, Felwythe, ect caught fire and their little pointy ears fell off. Innoruuk then popped and he conned kindly to us and gave us booze to celebrate and we all dinged 61 in the battle. Cool huh?

PEOPLE! realax? what is wrong with you people??? why does every new mob in the game have to be killed? i mean come on! lets role play a little and if you are an elf (not inky) why kill her? do you people even know what "role playing" means? or is this game filled with a bunch of hair trigger teenagers that played too much quake? not every mob in the game has to be slaughterd every time the re spawn in the game. my point is. rangers and druds shouldn't kill animals and no elf should kill their own god. hehe i think verant should make it more fun. if you deity is killed anyone that worships that god cant use spells =P now THAT would be cool.

I agree too. This game is a ROLE PLAYING game and if these slap happy brats want a blood and gore and "WOOT!"-constant (omg, can anything be more annoying that that "word" being said every 30 seconds in ooc/shout?) game they should buy Tekken or Doom.

I hope you don't kill bears and wolves since they are protected by Tunare. You should rephrase your sentence to say you kill unnatural animals. I'll kill bats and snakes, but I will never harm or even befriend them (they are ready your friends when they are amiable) since it goes against Ranger and Druid codes.

I kill all animals that aggro on me, nothing else. Why would I want to slay a creature that means me no harm? The Rhinos and Mammoths in Iceclad, for example, con indifferent to me so I am indifferent to them. The Big Cats (ie, cougars, lions, pumas, etc) are KOS to druids. They will attack, so I will defend. Bears and Wolves, however, con warm to me and I would feel like a total cad killing them.

Where would that leave an enchanter? Enchanter's have the lowest hp's out of any character in the game. Without spells, they are absolutely useless.

Your attitude, personally, sucks. This was MEANT to be an RPG that I watched over the last year go from that to nothing but a bunch of blood-mongers. Makes me glad I quit... back then. Now, however, since my RL situation has changed again, I might play again and do something I never considered doing before: Become a PK'er. Why? okay that last post made little to no sence but thats okay. im the guy that made the first post and to the people that are kos to her by all means take her down! rape her for all i care. but people that are amiable to her really shouldn't be killing her. i hardly ever kill anything that wont attack me fist.(inculding animals.)this is not a fps its an rpg, and it was programed to be such. and with the spell stuff agnostic wizards/chanters/mages wouldnt have to worry just the necros/clerics/duids/shammies as their powers are givin to them by their respective god. (they are really spells they are prayers in real rpgs). mages on the other hand do chant so they would be fine. (except in forgotten realms =) anyone remember the Time of Troubles?)

I say kill whomever you want they will always re-pop at some time in the future. As for sanctimonous RP'ers just ignore them. The game allows people to behave like sociopaths if they wish so if that is what blows your skirt up, go for it! All that said, I have never killed a creature that didn't con threateningly to me. I do choose to "RP" but I don't think it makes me any better as a player than Joe Hack-n-Slash. If that is how he derives entertainment from the game more power to them.

This game was made an RPG .. sure anyone can go around and make a game set in a different world or time and all of a sudden it's a RPG.
Here are a few points that show that everquest needs to work on being a true RPG
-people r not required to roleplay
-quests are a small part of the game
-most of the time is spent sitting and waiting on spawns to kill them.... that doesn't happen in an RGP
-items r not saught after through quests or found in rooms guarded by powerful creatures.... they drop off everything
-the items the creature is wearing is not actually on the creature
-vendor's pay for almost anything
-vendor's pay nothing for good items
lets face it EQ needs work to make it a true RPG. Anyone that has ever played ....
"Pallidium" "AD&D" "Starwars" "Vampire" "Elf Quest" I can go on knows that an RPG is doing adventures that r driven by the players doing quests for great kings, tirants and wizards. It is driven by the goal of wealth honour and power. Its not a bunch of people sitting on their butts on a field blowing up every little creature that walks by.... or people waiting around for creatures to appear out of thin air and get killed for a magic item that they can sell for money to other adventures.
I love EQ its a great game but no it is not an RPG. So people having to roleplay thats a crock. If your a druid and u want to kill an animal kill an animal. If your a dark elf and you want to kill your father god go ahead....
The game is for fun and leave it at that.....
Now that im done ranting I think I will go to bed cause I have to wake up to blow the crap out of creatures around Cazic Thule's home and **** on the wall of fire to put it out before it burns the whole plane down :)

She's in a huge tree in the north-eastern part of the zone. You have to climb the tree to the ledge and go inside.

For those that have never seen her greatness before, she has always been a High Elf. When she made a visit to Gfay, almost 2 years ago, she was a High Elf then. Just because druids worship her doesn't mean she will also be a woodelf also. Even though she would look alot better as one. Hey did you notice that she has the hair like the gal in the movie "Something About Mary".

I really hope there was a point here other than you're high on something. Tunare was established as a high elf at game creation. So what exactly is you point?

I play a Wood Elven Ranger who worships this fine goddess... but I think Verant really screwed her up, and I'm alittle upset. Ok, personally I view Tunare as a nature type goddess... you know, WOODS and forests and grass and all that good and natural stuff - thus, she's mainly a Druid. However, from the looks of it, she's a High Elf. From years of role playing experience, I've gathered that High Elves are the more arrogant race and aren't raised among nature much at all. Even more, in this game High Elves can't even choose to be Druids. So, that leaves only one solution... she's a Cleric. Um, no. I think she should have been a Wood Elf, and of course Druid.
... Just another opinion from an insignificant waste of good space and air.

Oh and I hate your discription of high elves as a paladin of tunare i am deeply offended i bust my **** day in and day out to defeat evil and spread the word of the great tunare and then im told im arrogent by a ranger who dosent sacrifice his life almost every day saving a newbie or Taking a train on himself i am a RP too and i spend all my plat and all my lives on others. May tunare strike you down with roots of thorns and great bolts of lightning for insulting her children

I am a druidess who too rules under mighty Tunare. Sure, it would be nice if she was a druid, but at least she's an elf, eh? Besides, they went ahead and gave her the privelege of being the only NORMAL looking God....check out Cazic Thule and Innoruuk if you prefer to differ.

I must disagree I think of herself not as a elf but something greater something much higher and more powerfull.She is a godess and made them in 2 diffrent images of herself. Also i do not like you saying she shouldnt be a high elf high elves are also great followers of tunare and just because we have a odd ball or two that worship solusek or something we are no lower then wood elves we are equals made to serve tunare nature and goods conquest of norrath besides ive seen wood elves worshiping ralllos zek

Tunare created the hig elves first, in her own image. She realised they were a bit weedy and so created the wood elves to do the more physical stuff. doesnt mean she doesnt like the wood elves, or is one herself. And yes, she would be a Cleric, since she is the goddess of life....

Actually, the God of Life is Rodcet Nife who lives over in the Plane of Health which isn't implemented :)
And yep, she's a druid, I hung out in her room for a while the 2nd day of Velious being live, definately a druid :)

Ok guys she HAS to be a wood elf! If i understanded well, she lives in a tree: ever seen a high elf live in a tree? Second the city of wood elfs is very near to nature,so to Tunare, but the high lefs live in a castle (or whatever). Third, high elfs cant be a druid and cant be a ranger ( atleast i think...), who live in the city of nature (Kelethin), are the principal followers of Tunare and love nature. This considering that Tunare is a druid; they are the class that should live in the wilderness and adore nature over theyr life (well, lets not exaggerate...) and, guys, one of theyr high level spells is called "Bond of Tunare"!
And fourth, Tunare has to be a wood elf because rangers are the best ( sorry...)!

Tunare is NOT a cleric, she's a Druid as far as class is concerned... This is plainly obvious by the fact that she has a little bear (just like the one druids get at higher levels) called Tunare's Pet. Cleric's don't get these little bear pets. Case closed.

Actually, most deities don't have any race in particular... Rallos Zek looks like a combo of a human and a demon, or a dragon. Some could be a certain race, like the Marrs, but Innuruuk doesn't look like much, nor does Cazic-Thule.

It is quite obvious that tunare is a druid through the fact that she has a bear pet, First of all i believe that gods can make themselves look like anything they want to look like, however making a god a race/class that isnt even compatible with their own rules (i.e. high elf druid) i find it quite lame, if you look in the book that came with the game, tunare does look a bit more like a high elf

She's a High Elf Druid. So what? Gods are'nt limited to the boundries of mortals. But its kind of funny how a mortal can kill a god!
Acutally thats a crap load of people can kill a god. She IS a Druid (would be hardder to kill if was a Ranger in my mind do to more hps and better melee skills, and AI isnt advanced enough to kite players yet :p). She IS a High Elf. If you ask around to a few of the NPC's in Kelethin they say that the city is high in the trees to protect themselves fromt he Crushbone Orcs. Not to exactly be closer to nature. True Tunare is called The Mother of All, but she didnt create all. She is more the god of Nature then the god off All. Rodict Nife is the God of Life. And will more then likely be a Cleric if ever put in the game. Mabye with the outside shot at being a Palidan (Palidan would Role-play will with Cazic being a Shadow Knight).

Sure it's wierd that we can kill gods, but i'm sure everyone wants a chance to give the gods a thorough beating :) I bet there'll several dr00ds who show up to tunare beatings just because they'll be attempting to kill a god (has she been killed yet?)

It's pretty doubtful that any druids would show up to kill Tunare since faction is rather important in the game and this would totally ***** it up for them.

Ok guys time for you to know the truth. TUNARE IS A GOD! She is not a high elf or a wood elf or any kind of elf. She is obviously a druid but she isn't a elf at all. Case Closed!

There's a pair of gods who have been killed plenty of times.
And, if people ever get off their "Phat Loot" camps and go searching, they'll finally get into the Plane of Mischief and go after Bristlebane.
Not to mention the fact that it's been confirmed that Rallos Zek sits in the very far back of the Storm Giant temple in Kael.
I'd love to see a Plane with Erolissi & Mithaniel Marr in it.
A Plane of Water would be neat... with Prexus commanding it.
A Plane of Fire for Solusek Ro, and a Plane of Earth for Brell.
Next expansion, I'm sure.

Mind shareing were you read that RZ was said to be in game? Mischief was resent said not to be ingame by Ester the Tester if I read the post right. Something about Bristlebutt telling us when his plane was open. In chacter by why would someone want to kill Inny or CT if they were a Dark Elf, Ogre, Troll, Iskar seing how they are the main Gods of these races?
