Has 20k HPs, Cast Paralyzing Earth, Insidious Retrogression, and Asystole. Soloed as 60 RNG with J1 healer merc full intricate defiant. Super easy, healer merc never went below 95% mana. Took 114 secs to kill him.
Conned dubious - maybe heretic faction? He summons when attacked, flees at low health.

As of the date of this post, Jaeil the Wretched sits overlooking a pool of water, burried deep beneath the city, as located on the mapfiend maps I downloaded....good luck..
Mobs at old city are undead, not all of them, just the ghosts, so invis will be seen by them and IVU by the other mobs. Just have to fight.
Mobs are green to a 61 all the way to the first construct guys (metal golems, basically). Constructs were LB to DB until old city, then dark blue from there. Gargoyles in tunnel down to Jaeil are 57-58 as they were yellow to me on trip at 55 and are blue to me at 61.
Jaeil is on a 6 hours spawn. Used to be he would stay when you spawned the Insane version, but because this allowed a whole bunch of rangers to all get their hammer in one trip, SoE changed it. Now he despawns when you hand him your bowl to spawn the insane and then spawns six hours after the Insane version dies. So now only one Ranger every 6 hours can get their hammer.
When first entering the zone when you come to the huge pit and the bridge across to the tower, stay left and go down into the pit that way. You'll be at the bottom of the tower and can go in that first room and to the left and just quick but careful pulling, killing and movement from there.
Be sure wanderers are dead before handing bowl to Jaeil. Nothing like two level 58 magic resistant Gargoyles in the middle of a fight with a level 50 enchanter.
Okay, so get your group together and have a cleric jump into the hole with DA on and she will survive the fall. Have the rest of the group jump in a die and then be rezed by the cleric. You are now at the bottom of the hole. http://www.bol.ucla.edu/~berjd/hole/Hole_HoleBottom.gif Now proced to the middle of the hole, there will be mobs along the way, make sure you can handle otherwise be ported out. Once you get into the middle of the hole http://www.bol.ucla.edu/~berjd/hole/Hole_HoleMiddle.gif procede to Jaelin The Wretched. This is faster than starting at the beginning of the hole and trudging through the city, etc.
hey there juss did him tonight with a group -66 warrior , 65 cleric , 65 chanter , 63 ranger , 53 ranger and myself-, along with my high scale kirn piece. well instead of entering tower to the south ( shamn'n paladin ench ) epic mobs are theres a broken gate to the right. go thru. from here itll be pretty easy and or difficult all depends. you will notice mobs go from blue cons to a lvl 55 to yellow and red cons. garg's and golems mainly hitting me for a max of 258. both have really high MR couldnt ever land malosi or tash on them. so al out melee fight here. only bout 3 fights and some possible roamers total to him and clearing his room. once pulled i landed malosi and slow instantly no problems andmy group took him down with ease. hope this helps :P
I had a small group go down with me in The Hole. Jaeil the Wretched was not up. This happened last time when I went with a small raid group. We got some SK pieces from there epics. A few hours later we started to head back up and he popped. Now does he have a respawn time after he dies?
I believe the answer is yes, and the spawn time may be considerable. I went down there twice the other night. The first time we nearly wiped just short of the pond. I did not see him on track, although my last track may not have been close enough. The second time, immediately after, we got to the pond and he was not there. We waited about half an hour and still no Jaeil. It is unlikely that someone killed him between the two trips, as there did not appear to be anyone else in the zone, so his spawn time may now measure in hours, although I am not certain of it. This was on Cazic-Thule server.
Did anyone have issues with JtW aggro (post revamp)?
I read about a lot of groups having issues with adds, and I'm wondering if a group(s) can set up camp next to JtW and clear some space before spawning JtI?
Has anyone tried this, or has anyone seen JtW attack?
Spent 2 or so hours getting to this punk and he conns dubiously. Is he on a faction? I thought he was supposed to be indiff to everyone? He wouldn't say anything when I hailed him, like he's supposed to, and then snuck around to give him the bowl, conned indiff then like he's supposed to, but he didn't take the bowl. I gave it to him and got the bowl right back. He didn't speak, nothing spawned, NOTHING HAPPENED. What a jip.
Gettah Neffinclue Ranger of Tunare and proud Knight of Marr Mithanial Marr
We had a similar problem, the ranger handed the item in but the dood wouldn't say anything. The situation we had was remedied (apparently) when the ranger emptied the bowl of misc items and handed it to him empty. His other half showd up for about 30 seconds, before he was sucking his thumb on the ground. You may want to check that.
Of course, it could have been something totally flukey. /shrug
Company Idiot Coercer. the Nameless Server (you'd think they could have at least named it)
yay! thanks for that post. 5 years after you posted it, I had the same problem... silly bowl is a container, and it had a random loot junk item in it. Cleared it out, and everything went silky smooth like it was supposed to!
I've heard its only 6 hours, which doesn't seem too bad.. went there tonight with a group of friends to finish up my ranger's epic and was dismayed to find out he wasn't up..
Update:Went back tonight at 8pm and he was up and sitting on his rock so respawn time is <24 hours.. gave him the shiny tin bowl, he despawned, and Jaeil the Insane popped.. Very easy fight with one group, 60+ with mostly 65s..
I handed JtW the bowl, JtI spawned and i moved back to start shooting arrows at him and then all of the sudden JtW starts attacking me and i later scrolled up and realized that he was charmed becuase at the end of the fight after JtI was dead he conned dubious to me still so i couldnt have attacked him so he must of been charmed by his predacessor
Well, after some trial and error, I can outline a relatively easy way to get a force into close proximity to the epic mobs that spawn deep within the Hole without having to clear through the city (which is a complete pain in the ****** This method does work while Yael is up.
First, you need to powerlevel a brell cleric to level 14. The cleric needs the three spells divine aura, invis to undead, and reanimation, if you want to go totally barebones.
Get the cleric to paineel, bind him right at the pit that drops you into the hole. Have the cleric divine aura and dive in, he'll land in the middle of a bunch of elementals, golems, flighty fiends, and master yael (if he's up). All these mobs should ignore you since you're a brell worshiper. Run up the passage that leads to the castle full of undead and epic mobs. ITU so none of the undead will aggro, run past the entrance to the castle, around the corner, and you'll be on a ledge overlooking master yael's spawn. Park the cleric here, we'll come to him later.
Next, you'll need to have a 55+ mage in your raid party. have everyone in the raid party zone into the hole, no need to fight the entrance mobs, just sit around. Have someone duel the mage to kill him without exp loss. Now, take a level 1 brell worshiping halfling rogue, use sneak/hide and drag the mage's corpse all the way down through the city and to the spot where the level 14 cleric is parked. Have the cleric reanimate the mage, get the mage grouped with the halfling rogue, have the rogue sneak back to the entrance, or even easier make sure he's bound right outside the Hole entrance in Paineel and just have him run up to a mob and ask it for a free port to bind, any way you do it, have him in the entrance to the zone so he can invite people for Call of the Hero. CotH your entire raid party into position, assemble your groups, and presto! You're right near all the epic mobs, you're really close to master yael, and you didn't have to kill a thing. In the event that you don't have a mage that can cast Call of the Hero, it is possible to simply corpse your entire raid party and drag all their corpses through the zone. In this situation, I strongly reccomend that each person at the raid bring their own level 1 halfling rogue, because I had to drag five corpses through the Hole last night and it was not only extremely difficult (ended up making a ton of macro keys to target and summon corpses) but it also took about an hour and twenty minutes.
Hope this helps, and good luck. (note: copies of this post will be placed in the discussion of the important epic mobs in the bestiary section, as well as under the main Hole strategy discussion. I'm not trying to spam, just trying to make it so anyone looking for info on their epic mob can find this strategy quickly and easily)
errrrrrrrrrrrr............well that was interesting. Just one big point id like to make. Why the bloody hell would you wanna go through all that bother to get to jaeil when u can send a party in and do it in a few hours max. There one simple point :) Remember we dont all play 24 hours a day 7 days a week
In your post you say use a halfling rogue to do the dragging. Could it be a dwarf? Does the same go for the cleric? Reason I ask is that already have a dwarf cleric. Now all I need is a rogue and the 55+ mage.
I think this is advice for people who don't have a guild that is capable of doing this mob. Cuz I can't figure any way that this sounds like a time savings over just owning the place with a couple grupes.
Is it still possible to loot a ball of clay in CT? I know the clay golem used to drop it but when I look up the zone, I don't see clay golems listed. Mayhap another mob drops it now? Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated...trying to save myself some time when I do the hole portion of my epic. <grin>
Does anyone have any information about how to get down to Jaeil the fastest and safest? I will be heading int here to do this last bit of my epic, and am wondering a few things:
1) Can we invis our way in
2) Is there a map that shows the best route to Jaeil (i know there is one out there with a guide, but it doesnt show the clear route to Jaeil spicificaly)
3) We will have 2 groups of skilled 50+ folks. Any tactics out there?
1.) No, invis won't work. There are undead in the city as well as non-undead.
2.) Go here for awesome maps: http://www.bol.ucla.edu/~berjd/hole/
3.) Crawl in. The city part looks to be the toughest.
Jaeil the Insane wasn't that tough for our 2 50-ish groups. Two minute battle. Warning though: he summons, and try to keep him out of the water. If he falls in, have everyone hop on in (watch your breath bar!). His hate pretty much stuck on my poor ranger, so be prepared to be the big damage absorber in this one - warn your clerics to keep the ranger alive! And don't kill Jaeil the Wretched. Leave him up for the next ranger to come along.
