Lastnight 4 of my guild mates went to the hole is search of Kirn. 57 shm 57 clr 60 nec and a 54 pal... Kirn was a easy kill getting there was the problem at one time they had 6 adds while crossing one of the courtyards...after that it was a cakewalk

I read somewhere about making a lv 1 halfling rogue (brell diety) to explore this zone, and it worked :P i just used hide and sneak to elude everything. The best way i found to get in, if your gonna fight...get to the large lake at loc p350 p300, then go to the end of near the water fall, nows the fun part...JUMP! Its a very long fall, but u fall onto the body of water from the waterfall, looks cool when u do it to ) In the room that u fall into there r 4 mobs (also make sure with your lv 1 rogue or a traker that Master Yael is not up). Proceed to the only way to get out, which is to your right, its a tunnel. In the tunnel u will find about 8 or 9 mobs spread out, they r easy. When u get to the end of the tunnel bust out your Invis to Undead potions and enter the tower, go all the way to the top, and bam theres Kirn. good luck shammys

This is going to sound complicated, but follow the steps, and you'll be deep in the hole quickly, safely and painlessly. This trick works to get to most epic mobs including Jaeil, Keeper, Kirn, and the Ghost of Kindle (chanter epic, I think that's her name).

What you'll need:

- a level 55+ magician
- a good enchanter or two
- a clean pair of shorts
- a few of the following classes: Paladins, Shadow Knights, Clerics, Necros. Mix and match is fine. Make sure you have at least four characters that fall into any of these classes.

Make a level one halfing brell-worshipping rogue. Bind him or her in Paineel. I would say make a level 65 rogue, but you can only make level one characters...

Bring your level one halfling brell worshipping rogue to the pit where Yael spawns and pray he's not up. If he is, forget it. You will need to fight in the long way. If he's not up, park there and log back onto your main character.

1. Have all necros and shadow knights mem Harm Shield. Have all paladins and clerics mem Divine Aura. Do this now because it takes a few minutes before the spell comes up to cast.
2. Create your groups. Classic grouping. Put a healer in each group. Make sure enchanter is grouped with a cleric, etc. etc.
3. Have all paladins, shadow knights, necromancers, and clerics disband and form a "sub-group." Make sure they take note of their group and group leader before they disband, because they will be rejoining them later.
4. Have everyone that's not in a pally/sk/necro/cleric subgroup zone into the hole through the rock in the pond.
5. Have the pally/sk/necro/cleric sub-group(s) cast Divine Aura or Harm Shield and drop down the big hole in Paineel IMMEDIATELY after they cast.
6. Your subgroups will have to kill two or 3 mobs as soon as they land. This shouldn't pose much of a problem.
7. Log onto your Halfling Brell-worshipping Level One Rogue. Invite a necro or SK.
8. Kill yourself and zone back in through the rock in paineel.
9. Invite the magician.
10. Kill the magician.
11. Have the necro in your group summon the magician.
12. Have a cleric or pally rez the magician.
13. Begin CotHing, inviting people for CotH with your Level One Halfling Brell-worshipping Rogue.
14. Disband your sub-group(s) and have them rejoin their original groups.

**As an alternative, if you have a suicidal mage, you can just have him drop down from paineel and rez him, without worrying about the summon corpse bit, but it's polite to offer to do the summon corpse so he doesn't lose any xp for your epic.**

And you're good to go. You only need to go up the tunnel a little way with a few spawns along the way. This way is SOOO much easier than fighting your way through the city, and it saves a lot of time.

What is the respawn time on this guy?Could someone turn in one icon and wait for him to respawn or is his spawn time so long its not worth the try?

Kirn's respawn time is 4 hours.
No
# Jun 26 2002 at 2:14 PM Rating: Decent
The shaman epic requires that you do the previous parts so that you have enough faction with True spirit to do the later ones. If your faction isn't high enough (max ally by the last hand in) the mob will just eat your item and you have to redo the pervious part again.

Does it matter if u haven't even started your epic yet, before u loot the icon and give it to him? Will he still talk to you and still spawn with ring?
Black Dire
# May 19 2002 at 3:58 PM Rating: Default
Black Dire really isn't that tough and if you Tash him you can stack malise and hit him about 50percent of the time with spells under 45 too, I killed him with guild at 41, wasn't too difficult, had cleric 48, warrior 48, druid 47, shaman(me) 41 and chanter 42, once we got him tashed I malised, slowed, debuffed and he was easy after that. You can also pull him to the zone and zone out, come back in and he's indifferent to everyone again, fight him with no adds.
Stupid Question
# May 17 2002 at 1:49 PM Rating: Default
If I don't have my icon on me and my group kills High Scale Kirn, does that mean that he won't drop the ring? Or must I give him the icon?
RE: Stupid Question
# May 21 2002 at 11:14 AM Rating: Decent
You have to give the Kirn the Icon or he will NOT drop the ring. Handing in the icon will cause the Kirn to respawn KOS and with the ring. If you don't hand in the Icon you won't get him to respawn.
How I did it tonight
# Mar 31 2002 at 2:11 AM Rating: Decent
We went in with 7 people. A group of 5 (shm(me), Druid, Warrior, Beastlord, Cleric.) and a group of 2 (enchanter, Druid) that way if something did go wrong we had 2 evacer's. Anyway. WE went down and faught all the way to the Undead Tower. Bestlord slowed first to gain aggro (30% slow) then I used Turgur's to really slow the mobs. Had no problems at all. The umessable Golems the Enchanter would park. The warrior druids and beastlord hell even the cleric was fighting would get into Combat and the Enchanter would root the other golems away from the group. We would slow and they would fight. I would JBB the golem that was the target. It would drop fast. Then moved to next and so on. I don't remember a waterfall. When we got to the Undead tower we all ITU'ed up and Ran straight into Kirns room. We kill the one Revant behind kirn's room. Pulled the one revant in Kirn's room that was KoS to everybody. Kirn and his pet was up. We moved into Kirn's room and buffed up. There was a Revant in the corner but was Indifferently to all of us. Dunno why it was but it was. So I turned in the Icon and he de-spawned and re-spawned. Well that killed his pet for us. Just before I turned in item Cleric hit me with a Cel Heal to take some ease off the HT. But Kirn didn't HT me, instead he hit me regular which pissed the warrior off so he dove into the battle and BOOM he got HT'ed....dunno why I didn't but I was pissed. I'd been Wanting the HT all night.(heh) so the druids, and beastlord jumped in and faught him. Enchanter Tash'ed him but we COULDN'T slow him. So I just JBB'ed him to death. he died fast dropped the ring. We ported out and Now I'm ready for CoM.

Kirn Bug
# Aug 12 2001 at 10:24 AM Rating: Excellent
Just wanted to let you all know that there is a bug with Kirn I found out the hard way. My guild was going there for other Epic stuff and I happen to have my Icon on me so we decided to go for Kirn too. Well, we got there and guess what.. he was on vacation or something and left his pet to hold down the fort :) "He wasn't there" but his pet was. Well, I found out from a GM that there is a bug. If you kill Kirn and leave his pet then he will not respawn until, 1. a patch 2. some one kills the pet to restart the spawn timer. Just wanted to let you all know so if you go and you have a tracker and they see his pet and not him you will have a pretty long wait after you take out his pet. :) Safe travels to you all and good luck.

I just wanted to comment that this weekend or so i plan on killing Kirn if possible, I am only level 46 but i am positive i can do it, you dont have to kill lord Rak, as far as i can see i don't know who told that story as long as you get his scale you need nothing else from him. What i plan on doing is getting about 4-8 clay potions (a ball of gloem clay: effect illisuion earth elemental) and had a mage follow me to a safe spot and summon everyone as close to kirn as possible. wish me luck =)

I 55mage need to get to kirn for my girls shaman. I used 3 balls of golem clay and 2 deaths to get to outside the undead tower, and am now bound in a safe spot near kirn on a little ledge right along side kirns tower. Gonna call of hero about 12 - 18 people in and i'll post how it went. doing kimble and kirn. i used a gate potion to get out after bind. not a fun time getting there. needed to use golem clay and invis and invis undead and fall off that death waterfall. g'luck on gettin a mage in there ). need a rogue to drag his body there otherwise and have a brell worshipping cleric rez him if he makes it there. :)

OK = ) hi all you shamans . did the call of hero thing to safe ledge near undead tower. wasn't a guild thing had to use the power of tells. 11people in all 2clerics 2enchanters 1shaman 1mage 3war 1rangerlvl 60 puller) 1druid. we all were at ledge invis undead almost up to kirns room but stopped before high lvl pulled singles to us we cleared way. we all strutted into kirns room shaman handed in item we killed kirn noproblem . no room adds either. then killed kindle about 2mins later noprobs. then we all ported or gated out. took 45minutes for the whole hole raid =P . hope this helps. could fight there with 12 people too the more people the more lagg the more confusion. better off with lower amount of people that work well together. anyway i hated this part of the epic, but a with alot of planning it can be done very fast.

Getting to the Undead Tower
# Jun 14 2001 at 5:34 AM Rating: Decent

Our group made it to the undead tower with 9 people. We could have done it with 6, it's just a matter of not pulling multiple 53+ rock golems at the same time. The trick is to do as little fighting as possible in the old city. If you fight in the old city, it's not hard to get more adds than a single group can handle.

The most a group should have to fight at a time on the way down is four, assuming you don't have a monk pulling to break spawns.
Strategy...

Once you've gone through the city and past Jaiel the Wretched, and cleared out all the live/summoned mobs in the way, you can use invis vs undead to get all the way up through the tower, without having to fight a single ghost to get there. Once you go all the way up, and as soon as you see Kirn, turn left and move your group into the room with the Ghost of Kindle. Kindle and one other revenant in there are NON-aggro, but the remaining revenant is KoS to all. Kirn will also be non-aggro(was to me, unsure of other races/classes), so while IVU don't worry about him attacking until your shaman hands in his icon.

Remove the one pesky revenant from Kindle's room, then start pulling. Clear out the mobs from Kirn's room, then you're ready to take him on. He isn't hard, we did him once a day for 5 days straight, with numbers ranging from 12 people up to 24 people. Two good groups in the low-mid 50s should be more than enough to take him out, but be careful of aggro'ing Kindle, as she will complete heal Kirn if she's aggro. Won't doom the raid, but it will make it take a bit longer :)

Kirn isn't very magic resistant, but is actually lvl 55, and has a great deal of hps. I can't remember his exact spawn rate(it's either 2, 4, or 6 hours).

Hope this helps.

Vortonicas Khedive 52nd Necromancer

P.S. Thanks to Verdandi of CoF for leading us all down there, doing all the research, and making a TON of IVU potions :)

Ghiosk is not that tough at all if you have enough tanks. I personaly enjoy a good CoM raid every once in a while and we always end up killing this guy two or three times.

Ghiosk can be taken by a high-lvl tank, a cleric, and a shaman, provided you can get him out and alone. Basically tank hits him and cleric heals. The shaman just sits back casting chain "cure blindness" on the tank. It may take a while but he WILL go down.

Guy I guess is a wuss. Getting to him is the hard part... could get all the way there with a group consisting of the following

58+ warrior (bring 3 for the unmezzables)
58+ sham (slows and for kirn =P)
58+ chanter (they always come in handy plus haste and mana regen hehe)
58+ cleric

That's it... single group could do it easy long as you have warriors to tank and taunt the adds. Just have sham slow them and warrior tank them till about 10 seconds of agro then switch back to primary target.

You could use a rogue in place of one of them tanks but it might get ugly without tankability.

I've been told kirn is easily affected by spells so dont sweat him... sweat gettin your tear from plane of fear =P

Sounds like that would almost be overkill even with your group disc. One problem though.... WHO ON EARTH wants to wait till they are 58 just to make it easy on them, when they can get the epic and make life from 50 to 58 easier and cooler? =) Doin him myself at 47 (well, not MYSELF, more like 2 guilds are doing him and I am watching.)

You need to kill Rak`Ashiir too. His aoe is not something to be taken lightly. At least for us non fire pet types.

Black reavers only have 10k hp btw.
RE: Not the last big guy
# May 23 2001 at 1:18 PM Rating: Decent
The spoiler for the shaman epic says that you only have to kill Neh'Ashiir. However later on you only need give the iksar tear to Rak'Ashiir, not kill him. After he goes through his story content he gives you a scale which is then handed over for the spear.

I'm only up to the Hole stage right now, so can't confirm this )

i think you need to kill rak, he goes crazy on you once you give him the tear. Most likely the shaman handing it in will die by the AE

does he give you the scale before he kills you though? If so, go in with one rogue friend to drag you out and it's all good, no kill needed =)
RE: Not the last big guy

Ok, to clear this all up. Neh goes crazy on you after you hand him the ring you loot off of Kirn. You kill Neh and loot his diary to turn into the spirit. The tear is given to Lord Rak who in return gives you the scale which is turned in for the Spear of Fate.

Supposedly spawns in the tower behind the city in the hole. This is the last big boy you gotta kill for the shaman 'spear of fate' quest. Since you've already killed the black dire in mistmoore and lord ghiosk in city of the mist, you know that no spells below lvl 55 are even worth casting on these type of mobs.

You need to give this guy the high scale icon you picked up from the back room of the right-side temple from city of the mist, then dust him. You get some sort of thing you gotta bring back to either sentinal spirit or lord nek'ashiir. I would NOT take this guy lightly. If you killed Ghiosk and looted your mace and 3 books you know that he had 15k to 20k hitpoints and it took about 20 complete heals to keep your main tank alive.

Again, you will prolly need 3 strong groups of lvl 50 to 53ish people to get here to kill this guy. Same group you used to kill reavers and ghiosk will probably do.

Recap:
Black dire - hits for 200 but effected by non-shaman spells above lvl 45 and only has like 5 or 6k hit points
Lord Ghiosk / Reavers - each have about 15k hit points or more and hit for 155.

Hell, bring MORE than 3 groups to kill this guy if you can. I sure hope I can get my sham spear soon. IT RULES!
