In the Gorge of King Xorbb near the zone to Runnyeye, at approximately +707, -1794 there is a spawn point with three goblins that spawn from it. Two of these goblins spawn every five minutes, the third approximately every 58 minutes. The static spawns are not place holders. It's easy to identify the placeholder if you get the two five minute spawns killed very close to one another so they respawn at approximately the same time.
With my tracker I just killed all the goblins except the two that spawn a little way west and a little way southwest (static), then sat on the alchemist spawn spot and watched for new arrivals under Normal tracking. At that point it became an exercise in frustration, killing them every 5 minutes when i was there and taking extra care around the hour mark. It took nearly two weeks on and off (probably 30 hours total) before I saw the alchemist spawn, I'm pretty sure he was the third (rarer) spawn but it was at the same time as one of the 5 minute guys so no way to be certain. You soon learn to hate KS'ing minotaurs because who knows if he had popped up while I wasn't watching.
Not a great reward for the time but I really wanted my little monk to do all the old quests I hadn't finished back in the day and he was able to pop through Runneyeye and loot the body.
