This Mob, can be soloed by a 52 Mage, and 50 Druid. He doues have much HP's(around 10K), and hits hard(120ish), it took me 3 pets, it helps if the Druid Snares, and DDs, it got us, down to OOM, for both of us 20% hps, left, but all we did was the Druid Rooted,(It last along time on him) well I med, and summend one more, pet and then he was, died, no Burnout or DS, in the end it was worth, it and it onley took 10min's. P.S It helps very much to get a Clairty or Clairty 2, before attemping him.
Me and a Necro friend, both 49's, killed this guy pretty easily. He can resist fire but a debuff tends to kill that off. He has a lot of HPs but nothing too drastic. Didnt notice him regenerating at all and he spawns again pretty quickly. Doesnt drop anything of interest apart from a pebble/gem called Rain of Karana - still trying to figure what its for. Advice - unless you are really bored, dont bother because its not worth it!

Im a lv 50 necro and I soloed this guy tonight. First 2 trys died....and I was like wtf. 3rd time I went in balls out and stacked every dot know to man and feared with pet. I reapplied all my dots 2x and and had to dark (snare) 4 times the battle took so long. I did 7k in damage in DOT plus what ever my pet did.....Id say this guy has a good 10-15k hp. Just plain hard.....bring your friends.
Well, myself and 6 others all 43-51 had just got done taking out the dark elf corruptor for my epic when we decided we weren't done keeling stuff. .. sooo we decided to take out Tarbul for a guildmember's epic. We made short work of him, within 2 minutes he was on the ground looking pretty silly. A picture can be found of this at
myself a 48 cleric and a 56 druid friend of mine seen this guy and decided to give him a shot since he conned dead even to me. Anyway after about 6 level 44 nukes from me that do over 500 damage and a few 1000 point doints from my druid friend he had only lost like a quarter of his health so we zoned cause of mana shotige. So im just wondering how much he must have cause we did like 10k of damage on him and he was still goin strong.
Myself, a 52 mage and a 54 Drood took him out the other day. He resisted fire alot, and I went through two pets. Drood got off his snare and all was well. Dropped rain for my epic.
Dropped this guy 3 times in about an hour and a half, he spawned a 4th time but we were too lazy to kill him. Heh, didn't know the Rain of Karana was for the mage epic, we figured Karana - druid/ranger, so there are now 2 druids and 1 ranger with this junky item. note: He resisted starfire alot, but my dots never were resisted.
I am a 50 necro and I decided I would give Tarbul a shot last night. I figured I had my highest pet up so I might as well give him a shot. What the hell I am bound in Thurgadin right. hahah I landed my full boat of DoT's on him and sat down for a second to get a few extra drops of mana. well when fear broke I was kinda shocked at how many Hp's he still had. I did not know about his speedy regen rate so I did not disease him. Well I took him down in about 4-5 mins. my second darkness had just wore off when he dropped. He can lay a pretty heavy pounding on ya when you get fear/darkness dropping at the same time. I finished the fight with about 1/2 a bubble of both mana and Hp's. It is just to bad there was not a mage in the zone so I could give them the epic component.
I tried him alone (i'm a 54 druid) just for the fun of it. I didn't know anything about him except that he was blue... Well.. I was about to find out of his regen... Over one hour later it was time to give him up. Everytime I got him down to like 30% he started to resist more. At most I got him down to 20%. Another thing is that it is a pretty funny situation when snare breaks just one second before root do and you are oom. Hehe.. took me awhile to get him snared again.. lol
I was waiting for friends to come down from Highpass so I thought I would do a little hunting. I hit my tracker and saw some green Mucktails so I thought why not. I tracked them to the left side of the path and over into a rockly area. There was two of them so I started my attack run on them...then a Chief Sanre`Rexsa shows up, he conned blue to me at lvl 20 so I made him my main target. Next thing I know one of them is doing dispell magic on me..and in the fast and fury fight I had on my hands I saw only this come up before I went down.
Tarbul Earthstrider hits you for 102 points of damage.
I never saw what hit me..thought it was another named mucktail come in to help the chief out.
So for those of you looking for this named hill giant ...try looking around the rocky area over by the path that leads to Highpass. If you are facing the path, head off to your left ..when you find the chief you will know you are in the right spot. I have a feeling this is where this Hill giant might spawn first. He was NOT on my tracking when I went after the mucktails..or I would have been more careful.

We just took him out (49 Ranger, 48 Warrior , $6 and 43 Wizard). Not to tuff, just a long kite. Used tanks at combate his ungodly regen. We put about 15k dmg into him. Not impossible for a lower lvl group, just time consuming. Dropped 34pp as well as the epic item.
A 51 Mage and myself (60 rogue) took him out with it chasing the mage while the pet and I beat on him. The mage used his fastest and efficient spell on him to keep him aggro and I evaded like hell )
My wife(49 chanter) and I (46 druid with ES vams and a lumi staff) were able to fear kite him EZ. She got a pet to hit on him while he was running. The chanter 49 DoT and Druid 44 DoT are enough to take out his regen(nasty regen). Droped Rain of Karana(some lucky 20 mage got) Good exp in 46 with two people kiling.. got 3/4 of a blue on him :-) coned yellow at 46 and blue at 49 so around 47 to 48
killed him with 50 druid 54 necro. It was ez only because he would not aggro on the pet, so we ran around while he was dotted and the pet was beating his ***** The necro said he had over 12khp, and when i nuked him for 600 i barely saw his life go down. It was a long fight.
Dedawen, Tarbul is a named epic quest mob for the Magician epic quest. He drops an item called the Rain of Karana. Don't kill him if you aren't helping a magician get the item, just ignore him and he'll go away. (There are lots of mobs like this :)

If this guy doesn't drop anything of any value, what is he protecting? Why is he so difficult to kill for pittance? And I don't understand why it says he is a "rare spawn" because I see him all the time in EK.
Slap on a 25pt damage shield to a 49 earth pet, and have a cleric start casting complete heal when pet is at 25% hp. Took 4 complete heals, and he went down. I had no idea he was so resistant to fire until a few wasted nukes (lava bolt for 25, 33, 0), and then one shock of swords landed for 600.
if you're a mage wanting the Rain of Karana, just get a cleric friend to help, it's very easy.

i level 59 wizard was able to nuke him with drought of ice for full damage every time, but was oom and couldnt quite solo him cause of regen, my level 29 bonds of force snared him as if he was level one
I, 25th, a lowly enchanter, and a 55th druid took him on... i did my minimal debuff and threw charmie after charmie at it while my druid bud dot'd and snared it... suffice it to say, we both ran out of mana and he was still trudging after us with about 90% of his life... he was extremely resistant to everything the 55th druid was going.
Killed him this last night. Most of the info here is incorrect. He does have a TON of hps. He doesn't hit particularily hard (105s). We fear kited him. One 54 SK, one 49 ranger, and one 51 druid. Starfires went home easily. Only one partial resist. He does run quickly, but I could keep up with jboots. Lvl49 SoW was much faster. It took about ten minutes to kill him. Basically, kept him feared and beat him down. I'd estimate 20k hps.
Killed him a couple of weeks ago with my 51 Shaman and a level 40 necro buddy. Fear Kite...TONS of dots! I ran out 3 full scourge at 1200+ each and 7 envenomed bolts not counting all the damage my friend Dotmaster was doing. Definately requires a char with snare/fear and some type of melee slower. Skelter
I was a lvl 21 warrior with 800hp and 500AC. I ran by him at the bridge and decided to see if I could even whack him one. NOOOOO! Big mistake. he doubled me for 31 and 43 and also stunned me with a bash. Then, before I was unstunned he doubled me for a 105 and 101. OUCH!. I took off running as soon as I was unstunned and he missed 4 more times. I made it out with a little over 2 bubbles of health. Whew, stay away from this one for a long time, hehe
I love it! Could anyone but another warrior do something like that (run up and smack a mob over twice his level, just for fun) and survive? Would anyone else be reckless enough to try? Heck no!
ummm i just wouldn't try that once you're above lvl 30. I tried this strategy in the Gorge of king xorbb on Diggin the dwarf npc. As a lvl 30 buffed warrior (w/sow so i could get the F* out) I walked up attacked and didn't last more than 4 seconds. Wacked me 6 times for 426 exactly every time. He doesn't miss.
Me a 51 Necro and a 47 Shaman kited him last night so it is possiable.. we did have our pets attacking him also but he was chasing the shaman as I was blasting away.. so it is possiable
