Yet another easy kill .. 65 Chanter, 62 Druid and 63 Pally took this guy down with ease .. Druid was on DPS rather than heals .. large regen .. but not large enough ...

Killed him last night on The Rathe. 60 Paladin, 65 cleric, 60 wiz, 63 ranger, 60 ranger, 62 paladin. None of us were ever in any danger and someone stuck a root/snare because he did not go anywhere.

Originally tried with just the 60 paladin (me) and the cleric but not enough dps to beat that regen. With today's equipment he can be done with one 60 group.

Killed him tonight on Zeb server. Easily within druid tracking range from the PoK book. I watched him for quite some time while my guildies gathered for the hit. He does not wander the entire zone from what I saw...if found away from his patrol area, I expect it's due to having been pulled there by someone who agroed him. He paces a roughly diagonal path back and forth in a NE-SW direction. The southernmost point of his patrol is +1250, -540, where he turns around and retraces his steps. That's about where we fought him, and had no adds other than the stupid level 1-10 skellies.

A bit about the fight: He was not an SK for us...no HT, no spells, no pet. Was ridiculous overkill with 9 people: 43 BL, 53 Druid, 54 Pally, 56 Cleric, 57 Cleric, 57 Rogue, 59 Druid (me), 60 Shammy, 64 Mage. /shrug we had lots of people wanting to help our Pally. My snare was resisted until he was Malo'ed. After Malo, slow and snare both took. Winged Death (DoT) landed (I think before malo, but not positive) and out of 2 of my Wildfire nukes 1 resisted and 1 landed for full dmg. Not sure what else was cast on him, but pally didn't even need a CH. Fight lasted about 1 minute. :p

Hope some of this is useful.
just killed him on rallos zek...

I'm on Rallos zek server, just got some friends together and killed him, ridiculously easy fight if you have the DPS to get around his massive regen. I'm a 60 pally, brought 61 rogue (epic), 64 ranger (post epic), 61 mage (epic, was using the level 61 pet spell), a 54 warrior and a 60 cleric. The mob hits for 180's, not particularly fast, it does have quite a bit of MR but sure isn't 100% resistant to everything by any means, I was using the spell stun as a taunt and it landed at least one, Mage was nuking (bolt of tallon I think) and those were landing. Strategy very straitforward, we dropped down from PoK, we were buffed with aego, ranger used group attack buffs, we got c3 (and VoG for the melees) from a friendly chanter, the ranger pulled to the PoK book and we dropped him. Fight lasted all of maybe a minute, cleric in total had to use I think one celestial heal and one complete heal (I had about 4080hps 1230 ac with the buffs I had at the time), using his wonderful sense of timing the warrior tripped his critical hit disc the moment Kirak died =P. Yes, he did run low health, but that was no problem as he was running at death crawl speed so we just beat him down as he tried to stagger away. People posted here that they had trouble with him running away at high speeds, all I can say is perhaps he's normally SoWed by some mob in the zone, and the ranger may have used a dispell or landed a successful snare that broke quickly but dispelled the SoW, not sure. But all you pallies out there, take heart, this guy is entirely doable, just get some good DPS and he's no problem.
Long battle.

I took Kirak on and had a very long fight, but we got him in the end. 57 cleric, 55 shaman, 54 ranger, 52 rogue, 52 warrior and I a 59 paladin managed to take him down. Was a very long battle. Pulled him to the Lava zone without problem and proceeded to slowly hack his life away. Shaman slowed worked, but nothing else. When he turned to run away the cleric and shaman tried non-stop to root him, actually got it to stick a couple times but only for a few seconds, but then Kirak's regen kicked into overdrive and his hit points were INCREASING as we hacked away on him. His life got high enough that he stopped running and turned to fight again. Had a close call and had to LoH while cleric regained mana. Re-slowed and re-hasted and cleric and shaman made pets for more damage. Beat him down again, and he ran again only this time everyone melee'd. He eventually reached a point where he paced back and forth and we finally finished him off. Ranger Dot's also worked. FYI Smiley: twocents
Not as bad as I had feared...

Managed to kill him with a 56 Rogue, 60 Rogue (with epic), 57 Enchanter, 61 Cleric, and 57 Paladin (myself).

The higher rogue pulled him to the newbie log where I attacked him and kept aggro, and the rogues just stood behind him and backstabbed him like crazy.

He did resist everything cast on him, and he did start running towards Neriak, but he dropped before he even made it there. He also summoned me (albeit once) during the fight, and his highest hit was for 180 (if I remember correctly).. He does not have a pet, nor did he cast anything.

Good luck to all Paladins going after this guy. :)
Haha

Ok logged on one day and a guildie let me know this guy was up. Rushing over with the aid of all the guildies I could muster, we came up with a group consisting of
60 Paladin (me)
60 Ranger
58 Paladin
57 Cleric

hehe pull was np, hes fast but ranger outran him without a hit taken. I grabbed aggro, and he hits pretty fierce. Not anything too special, never was in any danger from him.

We had no slow, and it was a very long fight. He has a beastly amount of Hps and/or massive regen, not sure which way to gauge it. Took us maybe 8-10 minutes of beating on him. Ranger didnt even TS disc hehe

He ran at about 15 percent, unable to snare him we chased him from the LS zone to the bridge before he fell. dropped epic shield and nothing else.

Not a toughie, but a rogue or monk for more dmg would have made this guy too easy to kill.

Here's a good way to understand how enormous Kirak's regen is...

Our group was 53 Paladin, 60 Warrior, 60 Cleric and 60 Monk. We slowly whittled his hitpoints down to 5%. Then the monk goes LD. Well, by the time the monk got back on to rejoin the fight in roughly 5 minutes, Kirak was at full hitpoints again. No lie. And the whole time he was getting meleed by the 60 war and 53 pally. Granted their weapons aren't amazing, he (Kirak) was still taking roughly 250 damage a tick (6-seconds) by the War/Pally melee and he regened full hit-points in those 5 minutes. By my rough estimates, he probably regens about 300+ hitpoints a tick.

I being a 60 cleric would complete heal the warrior at 1 bub and med back the 400 mana before the warrior needed the complete heal again, so we were in no danger of dying, we just didn't have the DPS without the monk to bring his hitpoints down to kill him. I even summoned my pet which can hit pretty hard (70ish max, but slow) and it still didn't help.

In other words, he went down really easy with our 4 man-group but having the DPS and getting over his incredible regen was/is key.
Not that hard....

We took him with a 56 druid 46 warrior 60 shadowknight, 55 pally 49 rogue 56 bard and a 54 mage. Fight took abuot a minute, no-one dropped under 50% hitpoints and I think the cleric chealed once. He didn't resist any of my DoTs but resisted 5 castings of ensnare.

Just figured I'd add a few things I noticed when we took him down today...

As an FYI, the group consisted of myself (55th Pally), 57th Chanter, 60th Shammy, 57th Rogue, 52nd Ranger, and 53rd Cleric, and the fight took about 5 minutes or so.

The Shammy pulled Kirak to the EC/NF zone out area. Initially, without Malo and Tashanian, I believe the Shammy said his slow didn't stick.

I believe I read somewhere that folks think Kirak Vil is an SK. I'm not so sure about that, as he didn't cast a single spell the entire fight.

He conned yellow to me at 55.

As everyone else has already said, his regen is extremely high. With Tash and Malo on board, DoT's still wouldn't stick until we had his HP's down by about 15 or 20% through meleeing.

I didn't notice how hard he was hitting, but it wasn't hard. With the Shammy slow on him, he wasn't doing much melee damage to us.

Thinking that he might be an SK, I attempted to stun him. He resisted all of my stuns, as well as everyone elses.

He did try to run when we had his HP's down around 10%, but the Ranger was able to snare him, so he went nowhere.

The Chanter also hit him with continous DD's throughout the fight, with only the stun portion of the DD's being resisted.

His only drop was the Tainted Shield.

I think that's about it. Hope it helps.

Just killed him tonight and looking up turn in info for the shield. Some noteworthy things about him:

1. He has mega hp regen, it is necessary to land some massive dots on him to succeed.

2. He hits fairly quickly, but not too hard. Max he landed was 195 a handful of times. He also ripostes often. So if you aren't the MA it would be advised to position yourself to the side or back if assisting.

3. He has very high MR. 52 shaman was unable to dot him until his fifth attempt, though I have no idea what he was trying to land. Spells didn't land full-blast on him either. Most DD were either low damage or resisted outright. Stuns landed about 1 out of 3 as well. Did not have anyone to tash him though, so I do not know how that would have changed things.

4. Snare would not stick. He turned to run at 10% or so and was able to withstand a fusillade of melee until he fell near the bridge. He was pulled towards EC zone line and didn't summon.

5. The faction hits on him were Dreadguard inner and outter, indigo brotherhood, and dark bargainers. The faction plusses were Emerald Warriors. There were a few people who zoned out to avoid this hit, but of those who stayed that were not KoS before the fight, none of them were KoS after the fight. One warrior went from apprehensive to dubious.

This is about all I can recall pertaining to him. I hope this helps some.

Kirak Vil got killed today on the drinal server.
On the pal epic information i found that he would be total restistance to spells. Well... he is disease slowable and our wizard and mage were able to land some nukes on him. He hits for 180, wasnt as bad as i expected.

if this guy has such a tough regen, why not get an sk or necro to just disease cloud him, disease cloud btw STOPS REGEN!! so if his regen is your problem then you might wanna think about useing the gods of counter regen and find a necro or sk.
RE: regen???
# Jun 11 2002 at 2:11 AM Rating: Default
Disease cloud does not stop regen. It is just a real weak DOT (1-2 dmg per tick) which, when cast on a low level mob, will counteract their regen. A high level mob that regens 20 hp per tick will still regen most of their per tick hp even with DC cast on them. Believe me, I am an SK and have much exprerience using disease cloud.

Kirak taken down today with 7 people. Namffoh 60 monk w/ epic, Osma 56 cleric, Runehammer 60 rogue, Kamikazii 51 rogue, Yendara 54 mage, Yain 60 wiz, and me Zendaryus 51 paladin.
Monk pulled him to the zone, had FDed a few times to get some distance on him, mentioning that Kirak was SOW speed or faster. Dropped a Lay Hands on monk and we started pounding on him, rogues really tore into him. Wiz was almost out of mana when Kirak made it to the group, monk held agro whole fight, cleric appeared to Complete Heal him about 4 times, fight last about 60 seconds. No DoTs used to take him down. No biggy. I wasn't really able to hit that much, but I did get the killing blow. :p

I love the guy who says mob level 55 can be easily taken by a 1 group, I m dead of laught....

Just to let u know we were a full group of 55+ (2wiz 55, 58 pal, 59 ranger, 58 warrior with epic, 57 Cleric with epic, FYI with this group we have take down Phinigel in kedge) And we were unable to take down this suker under 4/5 of his health.

His regen is huge insane, and he hit hard and fast. Of course bringing with us 1 or 2 shammies would have cap is regen.....

So before saying u can easily kill a 55 mob with only one group plz grow do some raid, try some epic mobs.
Of course regular mobs can be take down by full group but some remain underconned.

Last night, A Twist of Fate on EMarr did this guy for the Pally epic piece.

1.) He can be level 56. Conned even to our 56.
2.) He is neither a SK or a Necro. There was some confusion about this before we went in. He neither harmtouched/cast, nor did he have a pet. He was a typical warrior MoB.
3.) He dropped the shield (which is NOT equipable) and nothing else.
4.) 2 groups of 50s and a 45 RNG ;-) had no trouble whatsoever. 1 group with healers and a very good tank could most likely do it.
5.) He spawns somewhere NE of the bridge, then wanders a short back-and-forth pattern. Bring a decent Ranger and he'll be 1 of maybe 2 non-greens in the zone; easily tracked.
6.) Unknown if he summons. He never got the chance. I would assume he does.
7.) He is quite fast, even walking un-aggoed.

Myths, be dispelled!

When I watched a group take the guard on, they started near the bind point for most newbie players and he was not as easy as people make him out to be. The first time they attempted the warriors made a fatal mistake of allowing him to walk without being attacked. The guard came back and defeated them all. He walked them all the way back to where the stone golem walks by the tree. No magic appeared to work on him. Me being a b@$t@rd dark elf attempted to buff the buard!! Hehe! The second attempt looked a bit more organized and they took him out same scenario...they were walked all the way past the newbie log fighting from near newbie bind point!

Best i have been able to tell he spawns 7 to 8 days like Keeper of the Tomb. next bad thing to tell you guys is he has now spawn point he can spawn in any location and roam the intire zone. Depending on your gear and lvl of group he CAN be taken by a well balanced group this i have done!!!

56 Knight, Veeshan.
easy
# Nov 12 2001 at 9:44 PM Rating: Default
wtf, very easy with one group. You just need ONE high level damage dealer, and an assortment of classes to fill the other spots i.e cleric, shammy, chanter

If he only hits for 170 then I'm laughing because some mobs in Kael hit me for 220+ and we take them down with 2 groups hehe
RE: easy
# Apr 03 2002 at 1:45 PM Rating: Decent
A mid 50s Druid/Shammy combo would be a perfect addition to a group. With their dots stacked on this guy, his regen would be halted and the tanks would make minced meat out of him. Have a cleric and a nuker in the group and you should be set to go. The druid and shammy can back up the healer once the dots are applied and they have had time to med up a little.

I hope that Allakzham will change what is listed as the loot for this guy.

He does NOT drop the Gleaming Crested Shield, rather, he drops the Tainted Shield that is used in the Paladin Epic.

The thought of someone killing this tuff moffo for this shield and making some poor pally wait even longer for him to spawn to complete an already difficult (as if that word is even enough to describe this quest) make me sick to my stomach.

Unless you are a Pally trying to complete your epic, leave this guy alone and just run for the zone if he comes your way.

Good plan, there's nothing like overkill :)
Especially on important epic quests. If you can amass 17 people to help you Do it :) Guilds are great for that. Better yet, have the guildmaster make a raid of it. Your loot rights should be preserved and everyone will get to have some fun :)
