RE: FBSS or IKSAR BP

Iksar BP is regen, FBSS is haste. FBSS will help during a fight, Ikky bp will help afterward, to reduce downtime. (And maybe a bit during a fight also, but i dont think the regen on this is enough to make that much difference unless its a really long fight.)

It's unlikely to get anything without track there I do believe except by blind luck.

#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 07 2002 at 2:51 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ???CAN A LVL 12 SK TAKE HIM???
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 05 2002 at 12:21 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Came across this guy the other night. He was pretty easy to kill (59 druid). Just rooted, DoT'd and watched him slowly die while I was medding.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 03 2002 at 7:27 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well I guess it all depends on what characters you have available but I'd say this guy is no harder than any mob in Old Sebilis. I've killed him 3 times in 4 weeks (random camping when I'm bored). I run 2 computers, on one a 59 druid, the other a 60 warrior and we drop him pretty quick, although i dont burn mana because soon as he drops im pulling the next spawn. But all in all hes pretty easy.

Stop asking if "So and so" can solo this guy. Hes a level 45 mob. If you can kill the forager then this guy wouldn't be a problem.

HOWEVER, since this guy is on the forager cycle, if you don't have a tracker to find the forager so you can kill it chances are you wont see this guy pop.

So I don't forsee any level 55 monks, or 50 clerics or what ever the hell you are soloing this guy.

For the guy who asked about the forager/hunter cycle:

The froglok forager and froglok hunter are 2 seperate spawns. Each drops half of a key that lets you get in sebilis. Each mob respawns instantly after killed and has quite a number of rares which can spawn in their place. Due to them being instant spawns most of the rares drop nothing. The ones that do are pretty uncommon. Rares on the hunter are more common, but almost all drop jack. Rares for the forager are much more uncommon as there is seemingly less of them, and most have a drop of some sort. (Usually junk. There is a few gems)

People are just being cautious. Let us not forget, that many mobs do under con, not to mention that you also have to factor in the resists towards magic and so on. I think that asking if someone is able to solo a mob isn't a bad question. It only takes up like 2 lines of text at most. Try not to get so huffy when people ask a simple question.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 27 2002 at 10:23 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) thank you anon for pointing out the obvious, sorta sad some people cant see the obvious when its shoved in their faces (hopefully the words of wisdom you just shared will guide the lesser beings to the path of wisdom... or to the freeport dock... where they will jump off with a BIG rock tied to their neck('s)

#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 09 2002 at 2:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) could a 58 bard solo this one?
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 27 2002 at 10:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ur a damn bard... wtf how do you expect others to know if you dont know youre own limits... you have the common sense of somone who ebayed their account... if u can quad (or more) hill giants by speed/dot or charming others to attack it... yes you can take it... tho if you have the same common sense in-game as youve shown here... youre doomed to die! (how can people get to 58 on their class and not know their limits... as a warrior i learned that in the 40's.. tho still there... what i could take... or could take me)

he didnt ask if a 58 bard could solo, he asked if he could solo a specific mob. It doesnt look like an ebayer to me. Go waste your time somewhere else... Idiots...

boy you guys need something else to do with your time why does everyone think that every high lvl player is in a uber huge guild and that every decent item sucks who cares if a fungi is better i will probably never see one,But as a lvl 50 ranger that usually just hangs out with 4 friends a night and slooowly grabs a lil xp now and then and does not have really uber items (armor consists of mostly Ry'Garr and a few sentry items) can go get this BP wich is much better than the Mithril bp.

I bleed there for I am!

I was in an Uber Guild on Erollisi Marr. Seems everyone there just assumed that everyone else on the server was in an Uber Guild also. I ended up leaving the Guild, I couldnt get into looking down on other players just because they werent in Uber Guilds. Im a lvl 60 Shaman and would LOVE to settle for one of these!

Songs of Megadz, adapted from Songs of Roland, but just as long evem though we dropped the entire Saracen thing.

Cast:
Crusader Zoglic Iksar Shadow Knight of the 46th Circle
Crusader Zoglic's pet Summoned Bones afflicted with anorexia nervosa.
Jou Male Barbarian Warrior of GuildX
Neemalles Female Woodelf Druid of GuildX
Sbib Male Halfling Cleric of GuildX
Megadz Yours Truly Human Bard of GuildY
and a Cast of approximately 2 more of GuildX

Setting:
Traknors Teeth, in the dark evening on the Karana Server; 23 hours UTC.

The Story
Traknors Teeth panning west from Sebilis over the central lake, up the mouth of the brook leading to the cave of Swamp of No Hope. Your venturesome Bard just awoken from the drowsiness accrued from camping outside Sebilis on the moss covered granite under the myriads of moaning Spectral Keepers. I had on my mind to do the Forager that day, in search of a Gleaming Sword, but that was not to be.
An old wise cleric friend of mine, Sbib, was nigh on receiving the title of Vicar, and he had sent word that he wanted help gaining the residual experience in Burningwoods. Ah, there would be no succulent greedy solo experience from forager and kiting this evening. Changing only one of my sheets of music, from those group fighting and mana songs in my dossier from Sebilis the other night, I fired up Selos Song of Travel for the journey to Burningwoods.
All Bards know that this is a song only used to go long distances without stopping. Nothing would hinder my duty to an old friend in GuildX, but hark! What is this I nearly stumbled over? Spectral Keeper with a pet? Never heard of such manner of being, and certainly not midway between the waterfall to the lake and the cave. Crusader Zoglic it was, but I had not the foggiest who that was. Intrigued at the idea, I put him on the limited Bard tracking so if he left the area, I might know in which direction Zoglic was headed.
He moved northwest towards the cave of Swamp of No Hope, while I sat uncaring about possible aggros on the embankmet of the babbling brook; afterall, I was not stopping.
I posted a message to Sbib asking if he knew who this undead Crusader was. He began pulling up the information on another system next to him, and yours truly did the same.
The news was out! Crusader Zoglic dropped the Iksar Breastplate of Regeneration. Gadzooks! My hands began to tremble. Looking back down at my sense of tracking, Crusader Zoglic had already circled behind me and made it back towards the lake, where so many people choose to pull. Odd, I had not seen anyone there. Sending word to Sbib that it would be a little late for our personal campaign, I began to change my entire songs to fighting songs.
Sbib replied, `Not to worry, I am soloing fine in the meantime`.
I memmed the wrong song for snare, but didn't notice at this point. I wanted the song for a distance snare, but instead, I put up an area effect, which requires kissing and hugging the victum to take effect. The dots were loaded, and Magic Shielding. In retrospect, a personal debuff song would have been wise, but time was wasting.
Let's see... where is that potion bag. Glug, glug, glug, ahhh... sow potion, a swig of Shifting Shield, and lastly, a drink of the old fire shield Kilva`s Blistering Flesh. Thank you Haddus, my beloved Shaman.
Looking back at track, the Crusader had already Circled me, yes, a full circle, and he was back on his way towards the Swamp of No Hope.
`Ah, surely this is the work of druid kiting`, I thought to myself.
Following the cues from tracking, I found him again, unsnared, just prancing about back in the center of the zone. Ouch! Cold damge from a wandering Frogluk Urd Shaman. I targeted the pet, having read something about a bard charming to remove the pet. Slipped my mind that I needed to charm Zoglic, not his pet. Well, battle was engaged, a frog at my heals, and his pet remind his own.
Dotting the pet and following the wall of the zone past the Swamp cave, his pet died soon enough. His pet appeared to be running slightly faster than the Crusader himself. This required intermittent circlings of the two to keep them together. Halfway between the run from the Swamp to Emerald Jungle, the true work on the Crusader began. Zoglic 75%, Megadz at 100%, and then came the old Shadow Knights first effective cast; Engulfing Darkness. The Spirit of Wolf left my body. Snare, snare, what's wrong with my snare? He was slow, but my feet were getting muddied with quicksand fast. He was close enough for some melee now, and then, my low range snare took effect. A Bard and a Shadow Knight, happily snared together. Dang! No Fear in the dossier of music. Clawing at my back for about 120 points of damage, Hymh of Restoration, and prayer to the God of the Agnostics was not helping much, but then Engulfing Darkness lifted.
Selos Song of Traveling kicked in. For those of you that don't know the effects of this song; it is faster than Scale of Wolf but drops like Scale of Wolf if you cast, attack, or get hit, it gives invisibility, see invisible and finally levitate. Sure enough, the Crusader wacked your dear Bard again, dropping his chance of gaining distance at half health. Three more hits brought me down to my last bubble of health, as I crested the Emerald Jungle zoneline.
This is where the other characters, Jou, Neemalles and others of GuildX appeared. I noticed casters medding, and warriors spinning about watching the horizon ove the hill. To them, I disappeared when Selo's Song of Travel finally kicked in. I put a great distance between me and the Crusader to drink another SoW potion. Dropped the Drum which helped attacking and put my ukulele in hand and started chanting Aloha Oy to make me feel better.
I turned to target Crusader Zoglic, but he had not caught up. I ran back, and sure enough, GuildX had engaged the spectre. Zoglic was already at half health. There was no way a Bard meleeing could get his other 25% before he died, but I tried.
You Bard wailed out in shout, `Do not do this GUILDX`.
Hating the plague of kiting, I posted over and over in garbbled say, `THIS ISMY KITE`.
They won the kill, I had brought it to them, foolish me. I was hating the game, the hours spent playing, the economic culture and the cut throat nature created by lack of supply to meet the equipment demands of the growing number of EQ players. Then, out of no where, and to my surpise, Jou handed me the breastplate and said, `go in peace`. Seriously, I could have cried. He was still wearing leather armor, or something with the same graphic on his chest. Obviously, he needed something for a Breastplate as well, yet unlike so many, he relinquished the opportunity. Looking back, I wish I would have offered to lotto it against just him and me, but at that moment, the young lady Neemalles was trying every possible way to agitate me and those around her.
First, I was accused of cursing GuildX in shout, then the problems of the zone extended from Tracknors to Sebilis, Burningwoods, the commons and the rest of Kunark. Innodated with tells, questions concerning what happened, offers for the Breastplate, warnings that the issue would come before the guild officers. It was begining to feel like the Kiss of Death, so I thought I would post the good story here. For your entertainment, amusement, and for those of you like me, wishing they had some items that may save thier soul against all these newly revamped underconned mobs which require an entire collectivity to even challange.
I want to say something about the Bard. The bard is not uber, level 51, and wielding Icetooth claws, and a self quested Wakasazi of Frozen Skies. It 20, 51 seems like a high level. Trying to get through 51, you realize that 50 is young. The Breastplate is not for sale, as there is a definate need for it. Perhaps, I could be labled a poacher as Maslethalo of Povar puts it, but take a look at how long my prepartions were to kite this beast. Surely, if there had been someone actively pursuing the Forager cycle, would I have not at least bumped into them on the kite? Such a vague definition of a roaming camp lends itself to these sort of misunderstandings and altercations.
I am certain that I have seen, even on limited bard tracking, two foragers and two hunters up simultaneously. Does this mean there are technically 4 camps in the zone. Since they all roam, and spawn vaguely in the same area, does that mean they can be divided safely into 4 camps? Should the members of a group be constantly posting all spawns on a certain cycle to inform other groups which named are on hunter and / or forager cycle?
Nonetheless, thank you Jou. You know who I am, and if you need help from a Mystic, I'll gladly take you out and help you on a camp or quest.
