Also found in West Karana and Qeynos Hills. Though killing wolves and bears in Qeynos can do alot of faction damage for druids that have to deal with Surefall Glade.
For a newbie with a ranged weapon, or any caster, killing the brown bear in the Ak'Anon Zoo is 100% risk-free experience. As a gnome necro, I spent much of levels 3-5 sitting on the ledge, waiting for the bear to spawn while medding up. With a spawn time around six minutes, you can nuke or DOT away all your mana then be back to full by time he pops. It got pretty boring, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend you camp him the way I did, but if you hit him every time you run to the bank or the merchants, it's still easy XP.
If you stand on the floor next to the Clockwork, the bear will not leave a corpse. But if you stand on the ledge, switch to overhead view and inch yourself forward until just before you fall off, he will leave a corpse. Ruined pelts mostly, but with the occasional low- or medium-quality pelt. You can just hop on over and loot him once he's dead.
I've never seen a faction message after killing him. Too bad you can't hit the tiger and the minotaur in the zoo.
if you stand on the ledge farthest away from the clockwork in the zoo(not on the bear's island) you can kill bear with ranged weaps or spells don't try it with the mino or tiger the clockworks kill you. Killing the bear lowers faction with all in akanon except dark reflection which raises i believe. If you kill it from afar it doesn't drop a corpse but if you kill it on the island it does (i havent tried this i just kill them for a laugh not exp/loot)
If you attempt to kill the brown bear (or any other creature) that is in the zoo, you will have your butt handed to you by any/all robots within range of that creature. Moreover, I don't think you would survive the attack to have your faction effected. 8P
Ahat about the Brown Bears in the zoo in Ak'Anon. Do they give bad faction with Ak'anon ressidents? I need to know becouse I am a Wood Elf Ranger and can't afoard any bad faction with them.
