I just finished camping Raster here's what I've learned. As mentioned, his PH despawns shortly after 8AM game time, and respawns shortly after 9AM. This is handy for a quick respawn only as the normal spawn time for his PH or Raster is about 30 minutes. I did it, but don't believe it had anything to do with his spawning, because he spawned at about 10PM actually.
He spawns on the ledge up the steps near that flower pot(or whatever it is) I suspected that's where he spawned after looking at the picture and seeing a piece of it on the left side of the picture. My hunch was correct.
BTW the elder spawns in the pit below. I saw him twice in the time I was camping Raster.
I guess I was lucky after reading all the horror stories I was ready for a long long camp, it took me three hours.

just want to say i camp raster untill near 2 weeks and pass 90h+ waiting raster and never see him :(
don t understand why verant continue with a camp so long to wait also we can kill zephyl more easy
and i m borrie lose 90H of my life for nothing verant need move little so all people will left on DAoC
if anyone on karana see raster and are no monk plz tell me if i m on ligne

He spawned for them, so I decided I'd wait for the next spawn. It was Raster, again. I looted it, went to SK right away found Brother Quinn, got my Robe. Last night I'm in Lguk, only 3 in the zone. I walk past Rasters spawn and see a human figure. Woot, no other monks in the zone! So I have my Celestial Fists, and a Robe of the lost circle too! Thanks my buddy Raster.

Well, I suppose I could buy this incredible tale only there is a problem. The Idol you obtain from Raster is not delivered to SK or Brother Qwinn. The Idol is delivered to Brother Zephyl in Rathe Mountains (which is directly where I'm headed with my Red Sash IF I can ever get Raster to spawn. This story sounds like a dream come true but I'm afraid the descrepancy in facts casts a certain doubt, I think it may only be a dream (and not true). If this did truly occur, gratz!!! If you're making this up, I can't imagine the motivation. Just an observation.

i killed the room with another monk both at the level 42, it took 4 hours for raster to spawn and i got low roll, this was at midnight this alst night, i asked today and one dropped at noon, only 12 hours, i hope i can get my own tonight=) wish me luck

I was playing my ranger, 40ish at the time in guk one night. We were camping the sage/exe area when a monk starting cheering for herself cuz raster spawned. 30 mins later, he's on my tracking. I dont think he's a set time spawn, just has a very slim chance of spawning each cycle. Just have to be lucky with this mudda ******

wow, i can't stand this! i don't know what to do i am soo confused. i plan to get ROTLC by doing this quest, i planned to do this, but seeing as this guy is such a rare spawn its insane, man, seriously. i COULD go kill Zephyll but i am lvl 26, i could get a bunch of high lvl people to come help me kill him. BUT Zephyll quads for 250, he doubles if you give him a 2hb, (worn great staff, Runed Totem Staff, etc.) its not fair, what am i gonna do? someone post please.
PS exactly HOW rare is he? like 7 hours a day for a week, or like a whole day straight? or Pyzin rare?

You only THINK Pyzjn is rare. This is debatably the worst camp in the game.

Knew a friend who camped him 100+ hours so i killed him when it spawned. No monks around to loot it, so i picked it up and you can MQ it. He got his robe. BTW its way easier to get two 55+ groups together to kill Brother Z and get the robe than waste your time waiting on a spawn.

Which part is Raster in? I know where the Elder room is but is he in the lower hole like part with a ladder up or up top? Also the despawn is 8am eq time and re spawn is 10am eq time right?

Ok... first off, is it possible to do this room solo pre-50? If Raster is only 37, using the torch method (assuming it works) a monk should be able to take him at what, 45?
Also, what level are the surrounding mobs? The PH, Minos... and will they aggro (assuming live frog faction is high enough not to be KoS) if you are not pulling the surrounding mobs?

I went to the mino room with a 40 monk and a 40 enchanter, I am a 37 cleric. The monk easily FD split the room and we ended up single pulling the room with ease. Unfortunately I had to log before the elder or raster spawned =(. I really feel that the only way to clear this room is to FD split it. We tried to do the whole room with the enc mezzing and we ended up killing 4 of the 5 minos until me and the enc died and the monk was FDed for 15 minutes, kinda sucked but at 37 was pretty sweet exp.

I am a lvl 49 monk and finally got around to camping Raster today. I went in with only 100 bandages (someone brought more to me during the camp for 10pp) and no weapons. My fists are 13/31 (FYI) and I was equiped with a Hangman's Noose (Haste Belt). The rest of my armor is mostly Wu's.
I owned the camp without any real problems. It was easy to split and I still gained exp every once in a great while.
After nearly 6hrs he spawned and I killed him. I know I got lucky with the spawn time. I hope this post helps some of the other monks out there interested in this quest/camp.

Dont keep it for yourself (no - in fact - don't keep anything at all - ever) , unless you are a (insert class here) of course, because the (item) is no drop and the robe is no drop so theres no way you can sell it or anything.

I have been camping raster for over 100 hours now. This time being spread over 1 month. I have found that when others get raster, it is typically 6 days odd before another raster has the chance of spawning after being slain. Sometimes this is wrong and he will spawn a couple of times in a row. If you are lucky.
But most arnt, so just a little bit of info for you camping monks. Im trying to look deeper into it.. seeing as i have no luck at getting raster.

I don't believe there is much of a science to getting Raster outside the spawn/despawn timing. Get there, clear the room and hope he spawns. The time I got Raster was letting the 10 am spawn live til 8pm and then I killed him. Raster was the next spawn at 5am or 6am.

He was killed on Fennin ro about a week ago and he didnt drop the robe, and before that he droped it every time.

you can also use a mino horn to stop him from dual weilding. this way you dont have to bring your own torch. just loot a horn off one of the minos you kill.

I camped him a long time ago and i have a idol which doesnt say idol of Zen whatever and is 3wis /int...do i have the right piece cant remeber killing him but i was camping elder for his piece...plz help if you have the raster piece and tell me what it exactly says and not what its called.

Take it to a Chanter and have it Identified, it's a lvbl 12 spell. If you killed Raster, then you hve the right Idol. Idol of Zan Fi.

To get Raster you do a Despawn method a mob will disappear at 8pm/am and Raster or a PH will spawn at 10pm/am If you found him but can't beat him up (too low a Lvl) then carry a torch with you when fighting him give the torch to Raster and he'll wear it which makes him easier to fight because he cant duel weild with the torch (YES it does work)

If you have faction with the live frogs the place holder will not agro on you, however if you do not have faction with the live frogs, the place holder will agro on you and if you try to pull some of the minos that are around the place holder, it will most likely agro on you as well.

MAN!!! rare spawn is putting it mildly. i camped this guy for 2 days straight..slept for 8 hours for a patch...then 1 more full day...never spawned. The info about the despawning times is right on the money tho. Good luck to any monk trying this crap. 37 monk...saryn server

I got raster today, like others before me, i got him to spawn at around 10AM EQ time. Good luck to all you other monks.
