Can confirm this on Phinigel. On his ledge, LOC -584, 2111.

Go to the southwestern most room in the zone. He is surrounded by 3 random gobs conning light blue to a 41 Necro. Dropped the Necro Skullcap #7 Pearl I was after and the Sticker. Particularly noteworthy, not a single mob saw invis on the way to him. Hope this helps.

Ok we have the 1.0 version of Temple of Droga entered in with Chief RokGus entered there. I've updated the location for him.

I believe the key is killing only him or his PH. He is located in the back of the room. I musta killed him 5+ times. I noticed that in this cave leaving everything, except the mob that you wanna kill, alive works better.
As you walk in the room, the Soothsayer Dregzak/PH is to the right and Chief is located strait back. He doesn't wander. Just keep waxing his PH. He'll pop.

I spent 3 hours camping this guy two nights ago, only clearing the room he spawns in. I didn't see him once. Saw plenty of Soothsayer Dregzak and 1 Overseer Dlubish, but no chief. This confused me as I look at the other posts and see how others have gotten him to spawn 4 or 5 times by now. The next night, I changed my tactics a little. I started clearing not only the room he spawns in, but also the room with the Iksar Slaves in it, plus whatever was in the hall between the two rooms. I got him to spawn 4 times in 2 hours this time. This leads me to believe that he definately has a placeholder, I just wasn't able to ascertain what it is. Hope this helps anyone else trying to kill this bugger :)

THE DRILL
# Oct 16 2004 at 2:39 AM Rating: Decent
Ok guys heres the drill on the chief, the cave hes in is in the south end of the zone.If you go staright south from OT zone you will hit zone line.Face the zone line,to your left is a cave entrance to burning woods,to your right the zone comes to a corner and keeps going around. The cave hes in is at the below loc.The cave has a man made...err goblin or whatever made overhang over it.Theres a mob camped at front of cave, theres 3 rooms.First room to your right is where the goblin traitor is..second room to your right is where he spawns in the back.Last room in the bottom is where the iskar slaves are.I know i just did it.The room the chief is in is the biggest room.It would appear but not sure, that the corner to his left is safe to sit but be carefull.Used my 63 ranger to get him for my 24 nerco since nerco would get aced in there quick.LOL very funny thing happend too,i forgot i camped nerco at LOIO zone line and when i pulled chief i had to drag him across zone to nerco camp spot.I was surpised i didnt get any adds from wandering mobs but another gob from chief caves witch i snared to keep him left in the dust while i trained chief to camp.NOW HERES THE REAL COOL THING,i took him down and not only did he drop eye but the lock of hair and the idol!!and some gob skin..now thats got to be a rare first time drop..all in one package.there was a few other strange mobs in there not on alles list.Ill send in SS to them and hope they will post them. GOOD HUNTING!!

Where's the Chief?
# Jan 20 2004 at 11:03 AM Rating: Decent
With all the recent changes, I have not been able to find Chief Rokgus. I've camped in Droga, Mines of Nurga, and even hunted outside in FM where other people have claimed he spawns.

If anyone can confirm the exact location (zone and coordinates), where the chief now spawns, I would appreciate it.

The Eye of Rokgus is the last component I need for this 7th skullcap quest.

was just on and found the caves he now pops in he was not up but there was enough clues in the cave to make me sure there was a goblen bodyguard with pet ( necro) near ent lots of other gobs as well as a few iksar slaves and one db to me at 51 gobbie calles a goblin traitor ( he is not bad to take out but repops fast after killed handed me my tail cause i had 2 other gobbies on me at the time. most gobs in caves were light blue or green except him to me at 51.

ok enought the loc of the caves is roughly on south side of zone directly across form Overthere zone it splits into 3 rooms the deepest has slaves the first has the trator and the third had no real special mobs the tunnels had 2 or 3 gobs at each intercetion with gobs in rooms ringing the walls all mobs i killed seemed to have a 5 to 10 min repop timer since most were repoping by time traitor killed me. i sugest for most trying to do this quest at recomened levels to bring a full group or 2 heals a must crowed control very helpfull as well as even greens social agroed for me as well but as i said alot were liteblue so maby it my lvl? i would say a lone 55th necro or higher might have a change to clean caves not sure of cheif since i never saw him

Aren't you speaking of the entrance to the Mines of Nurga? I've never been there so I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to. However my thinking is that the chief may be a spawn among the gobbies that hang out at the entrance to Droga (where the chief used to live). In any case if he has a PH then simply running a ranger by the area won't pick him up on radar. I've had two rangers on different occasions use track in FM and neither time did they pick up the chief.

He's not speaking of the mines of nurga, i just watched him spawn in the caves he moentions, 3 rooms, 1 with the traitor and sometimes angry goblin, another with the slaves and the third room was where he spawned, one of the mobs in their is his ph but i dont now which one, conned yellow to me at 36 and hit in the 90's, luckily i wasnt alone, a lvl 65 nec seemed to have a goblin killing fetish.
RE: Frontier
# Jun 13 2004 at 3:33 PM Rating: Decent
Yeah you're right. I was thinking of the entrance to Nurga, which these caves are NOT. I just needed to actually go there to see for myself.

The chief dropped an eye every time, the essence of dol almost every time, and the lock of hair about 1 time in 3. Dropped Rokgus's Sticker once. He spawned roughly once per hour.
Droga? or FM?

A lot of peeps below are saying Droga, but the info shows him as an FM mob. Which is it?

The Chief WAS a Temple of Droga mob until recently when they upgraded Droga to a high level dungeon. When they did that, they moved Rokgus outside the dungeon to Frontier Mountains. I don't know where he spawns, however.

Was in Droga last night and the Chief is dropping an Eye of Rokgus. Anyone know what this is used for? Since he dropped it every single time, my guess is some sort of quest, but I can't find anything relating to this item.

The Eye of Rokgus is one of four "gems" that Iksar Necromancers need to collect in order to fulfill this quest.

*****should have gone in zone thread sorry*****

Our Guild, Knights of Areilla (on Brell) had a blast raiding this place this week. We're a mid level guild with our highest char's in the upper 40's. We took two groups of 5 with a cleric in the MA group and a druid on heals in the second group.

First off this zone pops fast so you can't sit around anywhere thinking you're safe. This is good news for a raid like ours though. You can constantly move forward killing as you go, and the exp our MA group got was excellent. If you're gonna be killing fast and furious then a chanter is a must. If the cleric got agro we just had the druid chain heal him to keep him up and we only had two deaths the whole raid.

I've spent a lot of time in the Dreadlands and Dawnshroud in the "play it safe" groups, and let me tell you that dungeons are what keep me comming back to the game.

If you play on brell and are in the 40's or lower 50's and want to join a fun guild that likes to get in trouble instead of playing it safe all the time, then look up the Knights of Areilla. We let just about anyone in, they took me didn't they?

Level 37-38??

With all the 50+ posts in here I imagine the chief must be a little higher in level than 38?

No... but getnerally thats the only people who come here, the noobs that can actualyl benefit from this zone are "playing it safe" and making outdoor pulls in places like FM and OT. Laff...
RE: Level 37-38??
# Aug 14 2002 at 11:37 AM Rating: Decent
That's too bad..my best and worst experiences are in dungeons. Combat is much more intense and loot is much better. It really feels like your venturing into some foreign realm cuz no one else seems to go to dungeons..which is fine with me.

Only problem is wipeout CRs are rather time consuming and frustrating.
RE: Level 37-38??
# Mar 21 2003 at 2:24 AM Rating: Decent
I agree, nobody uses dungeons anymore. Everyone is used to easy xp and easy pulls in DL, OT, etc. I wish more people would go back to LGuk, instead of just farmers.

Mainly the reason people avoid this zone is it it plain evil. Most every mob casts, backstabs, or Harm touches. Not fun.

# Jun 06 2002 at 12:55 AM Rating: Decent
This was one of my favorite zones in high 30, low 40 range. A group of 6 in that range can easily hold any camp in the dungeon, so long as you have a chanter. I've taken three characters through 45 in Droga.

Now, I'm working on my Chardok faction with a 55 druid and 56 rogue. The Chief camp and all surrounding rooms, 20 or so mobs, can easily be held without the druid going below 80 mana. And you have to love those low level casters as a rogue. They cast, you spin, and bs.

Spawn Time?

I am a 50 druid and sucessfully camped the chief for 2 hours with a 52 warrior. The only problem is that he never spawned again after we first took him down. What is needed to keep the Chief spawning? I heard that the re-spawn time was 25 minutes??? We finally left because it was late. Managed to get an essance of Dol and a bit of clausterphobia.

Respawn is a tight 18 minutes. I've been doing it for a while now. Not once have a seen my precious Idol drop. And he doesn't spawn every time. FYI - I'm level 55 bard and while it's difficult (very) to break the room solo, it can be done. Good luck =)
Dead Chief
# Apr 22 2002 at 10:40 PM Rating: Decent
FYI, Meele's can solo this room. I'm lvl 52 Paladin with Argent Protector and held room for 2hrs.

Couple things to note: Root all mobs, if they run don't chase. Mobs that run will be healed but will not bring others to ya (must be lvl 50 or so).

I invised up and went to ramp before Chief room and killed roamer .Then single pulled each of the others in room. I waited 5 min before I pulled so as to space spawns out. Mobs are on a 20min timer and there are 2mobs in the room with the Chief, plus a roamer, for a total of 4.

Once room is spaced/spawn broken, it is easy. Chief is not too hard. Try to fight in center of room, so others below don't heal the spare Gobo's your fighting.

Long camp, if after Idol. Not many folks in this zone on Mith Marr.

Luck to ya.

RE: Class?
# Nov 08 2002 at 6:56 AM Rating: Decent
Chief is a warrior and can hit fairly hard -- High 70's or so. Problem is not the chief though -- Be very cautious of the caster gobbies around him -- Usually 3 -- Varying from healers to necromancers to wizzies and more -- They are the real danger. Wizzies can DD for over 300 easily even with resists up. Necros DD, cast Fear II nad usually have a DS, and finally clerics heal for high amounts. Anyting with bone in its name is Necro, Legates, and Rock or Stonechanters are Clerics, Drowsers are Wizzies

I'm a level 54 druid and was feeling crazy when I found him up :) I decided to do my best to solo him and this is how it happened.

Up on his platform, there's the Chief in the back, and two adepts on either side of the ramp up. Then one taskmaster near the ledge out. As I was thinking what to do, perched on the edge of the ledge, my invis started to wear. Only the taskmaster aggroed, so I proceeded to nuke him into oblivion. Took one extra, with the healers helping him out.

Hide, and think a bit. Haven't medded much extra but decide to go for it, root and snare the Chief. Cast winged death and click arms for a few extra points of damage and wait. Root wears off and I start nuking. He gets me down to around three bubbles of health, only has time to be healed once by the adepts there because my nukin' overpowers him.

Moral of the story is just, if you're level 54 plus, stand on the ledge and you can aggro only one at a time and pick them off. Assuming you have good defense and can channel some nukes ;-)

I am a 51 necro i found it easy but it can turn bad very quick in here to solo this camp you will need to be 50+ for a caster for a tank type class 55+ plus. Pet classes watch out for the casters.Pets agro everything when you are hit with a spell right off the bat.
