It is located in the most north room, next to zone in if you see the map. It is a small circular room with 3 skellies. To get there you have to pass the library and follow the tunnels to west and north. Repop is around 17-18 mins, if you have a high level pet class just plant it there and mobs will autoagro when they pop, pet will kill them easily.

Location:

/loc 410, -25, -172

Also it is marked with a 1 in eqatlas

No factions as of 04/02/2002

Just killed him, really nasty fight, he gave no faction at all and dropped the truesilver pants.
spawn rate?
# Aug 15 2001 at 1:34 PM Rating: Decent
besides the posted battles here about if this guy drops good loot or not...I would like to camp him.

One...it is a very do able area for a couple of lower 40lvl's.
Two...the exp here is Very nice..
Three..if the camp can be broken properly the repop rate is managable..with a few wandering mobs through the door.
Four...would like to try and get a pair of those leggings..

I was there the other night for about 3 hour rw time...cleared the room forgot how many times...but no Reaver of Xalgoz ever spawned..
Has anyone ever camped this guy if so can you give me a guestamate as to his spawn rate?

thanks

Basically don't bother camping this guy

Heh seriously here are his drops

Common - a fs weapon (twirls finger) He'll drop this 95% of the time.
Rare - rod of battle (twirls finger)
Ultra rare - Deathwatch blade (shrug one of the rares from any shadow type mob, just seems to drop more off this guy)
Other Ultra rares - Truesilver greaves, Truesilver mail (these used to be dope when it was the best non-jarcrap, still pretty good - almost in line with iksar warrior quest armor and rogues and rangers can use)

Nothing real great in this camp with one notable exception - NO CLERIC MOBS AROUND
If a couple lvl 40ish peeps made it down to the hallway before reaver room (invis + levitate) you could basically hold this camp with a druid and a warrior and get probably a yellow bub an hour (kaesora exp bonus) Just root park adds, have tank run over... taunt it a few times, then get back on main mob and rake in the exp.

Hardest mobs in the general area are minions of xalgoz (weak). reaver of Xalgoz is the hardest mob of the camp and is almost never up when you get there... so breaking camp is pretty easy.

He also drops the Deathwatch Blade
2 hander slash that give AC10 plus the dmg 16

This is worth around 5k... got it on first kill!
I think this is his rare drop
#Anonymous, Posted: Nov 15 2000 at 9:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) LOL. 5k for that crap?? it's selling on bertox for about 200pp
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 25 2000 at 12:11 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) To the anonymous person above. You are porbably a twinked chump. Everyone seems to forget the time when it was so cool just to find a fine steel weapon after a hard battle. I think unfortunately because of the info on these pages and the willingness of people to twink there characters everyone is losing sight of the fun and exploring aspect of this game. Quit being so concerned about havin "Uber gear" and PLAY your character. The other day some chump asked me why I don't dual wield. My character has always used a 2handed slasher and will always use a 2hander. I am really tired of the "Statistical player". When STATS are your only concern you are missing the big picture. Don't get me wrong, being aware of tactical advantage is just being smart, but try to develop a CHARACTER and you will be more fun to play with. You might even enjoy the game more. Just my 2 coppers worth.

I just thought it funny that you point out that the other guy is anon, when not only are you anon yourself, but you don't have the cajones to put your characters name even though you list his clas/level. Do the boards make the cowards, or do the cowards make the boards?
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 26 2001 at 10:36 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Maybe you just use a 2H slash because you suck?
Ummm
# Dec 25 2000 at 2:15 AM Rating: Decent
Seems like YOU need to chill out bud. EQ has evolved many years since the days when FS gear is the pimp gear - that's just how it is.
And a few more things I'd like to say:
1) Stats DOES suck on that weapon, thus making it valueless
2) You are being really selfish by using a 2h slash. I feel sorry for people who group with you, as you will no doubt later try to raise up dual wield skill - 2h slash simply sucks compare to dual wield. Your FUNCTION in the group is to deal out dmg and tank, and you should do it best with dual wield.
3) Stats is *not* the only concern? Oh please, I think EVERYONE knows stats is a major part of their concern. Stats and skill is what makes a warrior - MUCH more so than what race you are (Wood Elf Warrior can EASILY outdmg an Orge with better equiptments and skill)
4) Everyone still DO have their fun. Most of the "uber gear" are not dropable. People actually have to go and get them. And nowadays when you see people with a Twink - they have a lvl 50+ main character behind it, supplying themselves with money. And IMO, when you make a twink alt - you are only playing him temporally...most people spend their time on their main character(s) anyway. Their first character is most likely started from cloth armor - why should they do it with their alts?
5) And lastly: developing a character is much more than equipting him from nothing. I like to group with people who know what they are doing, much more than some idiot holding 2 Lamentations. To be able to function well in a group and keep a good reputation is what the game is all about. I feel that you just have jealousy towards twinking.
RE: Ummm
# Nov 28 2001 at 1:35 PM Rating: Decent
I use both wield methods but prefer the 2hs more due to my dmg output. I'm neutral on twinking but I was given in passing from a Level 60 monk a "Doljonijiarnimorinar". https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=4544

I am able to deal out dmg as well as some high 30, low 40 players. My stats are the following:
31 Warrior - Human
HP - 1047
Attack - 673
Str - 117
Sta - 100
2hs skill - 156
Taunt skill - 156
Doulbe Attack - 156
Riposte - 156

With the axe that I was given for free, I average hits for 95dmg consistently even when I double attack or riposte. I crit for up to 180 dmg and since the weapon has a 140dd proc that procs at level 1, I proc about 3 times on the average per mob (Note: the proc doesn't always hit for 140, but up to 140 max dd). I am grateful to the player who gave me this fine weapon and I consider myself lucky. However, all of the casters that I group with are always glad to have me there as I can taunt off anything that may jump them.

A warriors job is not to dish out damage it is to take damage it is the job of monks and rogues to dish out the damage. Warrriors need to hit fast in order to hold aggro over the damage dealing classes. In raids however only 1 tank is the aggro here you can use a 2hs weapon because you are there for damage. Plain and simple warriors are meatsheilds.

Well, to the above:
1. I dont know the stats so no comment
2. Using 2hs isnt really being selfish necessarily. If you're facing a dmg shielded mob, you want 2h so you don't get hit back as much, which is UN-selfishly assisting your cleric. And also your job as tank isn't to dish out damage but to absorb damage, I hear monks and rogues easily outdamage warriors, so imo tanks job is to keep mobs attention.
3.Agreed stats are a concern.
4.Agree why start out with cloth all over again, but I think you miss his main point and that is if you play the character you will do a better job of learning and playing the game well.
5.Agree with point, but don't think he has twink jealousy necessarily.
RE: Ummm

Actually being a warrior means being a meat shield and taking all the hits from the mob while someone heals you, if you want to be a good damage dealer, start a monk, I have a level 13 monk holding a fighting baton and an essence of dol and he does more damage than my 20 warrior with Crystal Fiber and Kodiak Claws.

Everyone knows this is a lvl 35-40 dungeon but mostly lvl 45+ people come here for xalgoz fangs because theres no way to sell or bind close to here except if yer iksar.

Keep in mind that this is a lvl 35-40 dungeon between sola and nagafen's lair in difficulty and you will realize that the drops here are actually very good for the zone level.

Unfortunately most people that are playing this game have already leveled up to 50+ on thier main character. This means noone will use a low level item if they can get their hands on a high lvl item. I don't doubt that you find very much value in the deathwatch blade you got but to try to get other people to see the value in it is silly because most of them have 50+ mains and can twink their warriors with minimum dual weilded cane of the tranquil, a very common drop in sebilis.

We all know that weapons or stats do not make a good character. Nothing makes a good character, everyone is inhibited by skills per level. Some weapons are just slightly better than the previously popular one; thus making them the new 'uber weapon'. Then making the old weapons VERY cheap because most of the tanks sell them off for bird feed rather than deal with trying to sell them for a lot of money and being disappointed because people would rather just pay the extra 5k and get the 'uber weapon'.

All that being said, you have to realize that you can never change someone's opinion about an item you got. Hell i've held onto a green jade broadsword for over a month now because warriors would rather pay 5k more and get a lamentation even though they both are equally effective in sebilis where all the 50+ warriors hunt. Hell I can't even get a FBSS trade for my monk because no warriors or rangers will give up their haste and sit thru another frenzy camp over a weapon that they can just wait till 52+ and claim class loot on.

If you come to kaesora, you have to realize what is important and perceived as a good deal to other players, not yourself. IE, come to kill runelord, xalgoz, or library mobs or you are just wasting your time. You will never get other people to want to buy your stuff for decent cash just because it came from kaesora. You have to let the stats and reputation speak for itself and just hope someone gives you money for something you got.

Hell I'll prolly have to sell my green jade broadsword for 10k even though it has like almost the same stats as a lamentation but is 50 times more rare, just because I cannot change anyone else's opinion.

This arguement is like trying to tell a warrior that they should be using a thick banded belt over a fbss so they can tank better. They perceive fbss as 'their only means of getting haste' even though they group with enchanters all day who toss on 50-70% haste spells all the time. At very high levels 20% haste is actually decent because you pretty much only have like 1-2 tanks in your group at any given moment, but at lvl 35-50 it doesn't make one bit of difference at all compared to 8ac 15str. But, can't change anyone's opinion so we get over it.

No one is jealous of anyone's twink. No one is jealous of anything, they are just trying to show their enthusiasm for an item and you don't feel the same way. Move on. You can't expect to change someone's opinion about using 2h weapons by a flame, it will happen by itself over time all by itself.

Actually anyone can be bound outside kaesora. One of the few non-cities where that is possible.

hehe, look at the date on his post.. at that point in time everything he said was very true. NOW you can bind in kaesora.. and you would also NEVER get 10k for a GJBS =P I don't even think i've seen someone bother auctioning one recently...

Well I agree with both of you, but I too am a 2 hander slasher. I know there are alot better weapons out there then my EXE AXE, but I use 2handed and duel. I have noticed that my 2h deal more damage then me using my Icetooth Claw and Crystal sword both with pretty good stats 11/29. I can deal hits for 90 100 with every hit with my axe and high 20 low 30's with my duel. Sure I hit more but in group taunting is the name of the game keep on you. take the Damage, deal some Damage and keep off the Casters hind quarters. IMHO.

in my experience there buddy when i use my icetooth and crystal sword i always out taunt a lame - o with his exe axe. always.
same reasons monks taunt without having a taunt button. lots of swings and good dmg when they hit.

I think just about everything said in this pointless thread is subjective. One of the FEW intelligent things said is that personal taste is the rule of the day. Not only that, but also remember that not EVERYONE has a main toon at 50+.

I currently play a Lvl 20 Iksar SK and Carry the Tower Guard Blade. The stats are very similar to the sword in question except for minor differences (16/36, AC 5). From what I have noticed, no, I don't get as many taunts off as a monk (taunt currently in high 90's), but I do succeed. I do a moderate amount of damage, and I hold my own against monks in duels (but, then again, I am an SK. Duel Wield don't do much if you shadowstep). When it is just straight melee, when I duel a monk with comparable weapons and lvl, we are almost evenly matched. Fancy that.

Anyways, here is the Jist. Keep your flaming opinion to yourself. Why? Because it is an opinion. This thread ranks right up there with "What is the best Race/Class Combination?"

A. It's SUBJECTIVE.
2. Proceeding from or taking place within a person's mind such as to be unaffected by the external world.
1. Particular to a given person; personal: subjective experience.

B. Nobody is forcing anybody to use any weapons. You don't like it? Don't use it. Think somebody should not use it? Let them find out for themselves. Personally, I don't care (and I wager nobody else does either) what weapon you use and how much you love it! If you care that much, go post in that weapons thread. If you think someone is charging a little too much, say so without flame. If you have your weapon flamed, so what? Stop taking comments as personal affronts.

I like my sword. If I find something better, so be it. If I don't, then I don't.
