Used my 80 war to solo him. Here is the quickest way I know: 1. run to trak, just train everything, it doesnt matter, run up to trak and get banished, this will drop all aggro from the train and trak. now you can begin clearing. 2. clear from banish room to trak, using lev to take the shortcut to the juggs camp helps. 3. pull trak to the door that you cant open. fight him, get banished. This lets you run back now and open the one way door and pull him through it. 4. now you can run back to the door, and pull him through to banish room.
I killed him using final stand disc, and only got down to 95% health. he is like a big ugly gnoll pup now. My war has 1200aa and full crystallos gear.
I was just PLing my 59 mage at juggs when he popped ( using my boxed 80 druid ) And thought, hey! I can get my ranger that BP that lets you port to gfay. Luckily the bugger dropped it and the sk bp.
Not to get nitpicky, but the clicky is Lfay, not Gfay.
Killed him yesterday with a 77 Mage friend. We got banished a couple times but her pet never did. We ran back and kept attacking him and he eventually died.
Me and a 76 Monk friend killed him in under a minute. He didn't banish either of us then. I guess he didn't have time. (I am/was level 75 both times) Not much to brag about this day and age taking Trak down but I still love to do it for old times sake, and I want a Tolan's BP. I've been camping the other Tolan pieces as well.
i know lots of people have killed him over the years solo myself included just wanted to drop an update for any mages out there just letting pet tank him down ( no banishes) 74 earth took 4-5 heals while tanking protector and 2-3 jugs while tanking trak, 76 air pet with icefall icicles equipped (burnout 6? lavaskin earthen strength 1.5 clicky and iceflame body, pet can solo trak prot all the jugs by tola and tola himself with no heals, left pet at 50% hp didnt use any aas at all nice easy kill for mages with or without 76 air but the new pets rip him to pieces
whats more pathetic is that u cant seem to read when he said that he ISNT lvl 80 in the very first words of his comment. also im sure equipment comes into play. and he did say he was a ranger after all.
My gut says "liar" when a druid brags he took down a raid mob only 5 levels lower than him, solo... esp since Trak is evidently surrounded by adds, and more esp since druids are historically vulnerable to summoning mobs, without a DC pet, and I know of none of those in Frog-town. Still... nice that you do have such skills... not all of us are as blessed. Stop bragging, it makes you look like an a$$.
Need a tooth to complete the quest, does anyone on The Rathe/Karana server know if it is MQ'able, and when it was last killed?
Last piece I need to complete a quest, and honestly the other drops it has are basically useless to me (don't want any of it!) just the tooth, so please ingame email Kaerwena on Karana/The Rathe server if you have his tooth and can help.
i know a 75 monk with like 11k hp that soloed... can he be snared tho? mana robe is pretty decent but rare drop pretty sure most classes can solo him at high level ... if not level 60 - 80 should get him not that hard .... i heard.... monk said he only had like 30k - 35k hp so ... yeah just proc and junk that hurt
did him tonite for my bard and used 77 nec pet to tank and went good no banishes or deaths used nec to heal cause his dots and dds and wizes dds didnt land i did use all my aas on nec to help on dps but mostley just used him to heal pet got 4 adds at end when he ran cause room was repoping on me now if i can get lucky in skyfire and get the chromodrac gut drop im done if anyone on luclin has it for mq send soalshaker a tell ingame or leave email ill pay u for it. ty and gl to all u fellow bard 1.0 workers lol
Does He banish everyone on his AGRO list or just whoever is tanking him?
Should I pull him from his area (like where Echo of Sebilis is)or just past the broken bridge? (heard if you pull em from his area he will summon you back onced banished)
Undead bard spawn timer is 20 hours according to posts below.
I fought Trak in a group consisting of a Bard, Beast, Mage, Cleric, and Ranger. The ranger got banished 3 times and the mage kept CoH him back. No one else got summoned, so I would say who ever has the top of the hate list is going to get banished.
I would say that the 2 toons you have mentioned most liketly would be able to take him down.
My group fought him in his lair after killing all the mobs in the area. Echo was not up, but I do not believe he assists as he cons indifferent.
Having never been banished I do not know the loc, sorry.
So i'm lazy i guess i scrolled halfway down and did'nt find a post that gave the spawn time fer Traky here could i i get a "head's up" or a "hey bro" that'd be way awesome .......and also , dumb ?, but could a 77 mage solo this guy like i said dumb ? but i feel i should ask
Solo as a 75 monk, done in 1min. here is how... 1st, pull trak down into the water, or on the bridge where everyou want really... once he there hit dis ashenhand, followed by clawstrikers. he will banish you soon now.... once banished just haul a$$ back towards him, once summoned, FD, wait for clawstrikers to repop, hit him again, FD if you get banished before fd, do same run back to him when summoned fd, stand up when clawstrikers back up, boom hit him one last time, now he will be under 20% or dead, or should be... kill him while he running, and simply loot and FD wait for aggro message to clear and you off~ My magelo~ http://eq.magelo.com/profile/1347073
ok, I have never tried the undead bard version of trakanon, does he banish also? if he doesnt, that would make my friends epic a whole lot easier. thanks in advance for any info.
siting does not make trakky summons you back~ ive tried it serveral timesusualy with him 1/2 dead ~ id be upset by then but evidentualy he isnt (he must be scared) the sit myth is false~ anyways where he banishes you is a 30 second run back to him if you know the way
EDIT: plus he see thru the wall he rest his face on so be carful when peeking around the corner for him if you stay to long he will agro& he walks slow and draw a train of golems with him once they realise hes coming for your blood~ but dont fret just let him banish you then invis/run back to him where he banished you at
first off, do not try to just run to him and kill him where he is. banish will get you, as I found out the hard way the first time I tried. so if you want to solo him, either bring a group or prepare for a long solo clearance all the way from myconid area (his banish spot) to where he is. once you get to him, try to kill all his adds before he gets you (FD makes this a whole lot easier). then attack him a bunch, but dont pop any disciplines because he will probably banish you right away. but once you clear to him and he banishes you, sit there, heal yourself as best as possible, because he will run to you. you dont lose aggro when you get banished and he will follow you to the spot. (another reason why you should clear, because if you dont he will bring all his friends with you). when he gets to you... its time to kill a trakanon ;P not very tough, has 32k hp just like every other Kunark era raid encounter and hit me for a max of 750, but with the weapons available to people now-a-days its more likely you can dish out 32k damage before he can deal out the amount of health your average level 70 has.
when he pops, sily invis back to his banish spot, then kill everything leading to him, tag him with Mark of the martyr and pull him (be patient he's slow) to the banish spot, might gte some adds but they die to the DS anyway.
dropped some kind fo chanter spell, a cobalt bp and a mana robe, a bunch of teethes too.
I'm considering attepting to take him down as a duo with my Mage (see Magelo profile in my sig) and a 68 Shammy with similar gear and a couple dozen AAs. What I would like to know is a few things.
First, does anything think I stand a chance?
Second, does anyone have a strategy, other than those listed below, that I should look into?
How well do slows land on him, these days, and can anyone confirm that you need to be standing under his chest to land them (and other spells)?
To avoid the banishment problem as a mage, should I not be casting spells at him at all, just avoiding damaging him, or keeping it light, or blasting the snot out of him (for example, if it doesn't matter whether I nuke or not, I imagine nuking the snot out of him would be a good idea, so long as I don't over-agro my pet)?
If I should be nuking him, will Rain of _____ spells land, or just direct nukes?
I'm considering binding my soul in a relatively safe location nearby and gating back every time he banishes me - good idea or bad idea? If the fecal matter really hits the rotary oscillator (to quote PvP), I can wait for Trak to walk home, invis up, grab my body, and either fight my way out, or use Talisman gate.
Any advice would be welcome, but good advice is even more welcome.
EDIT: You apparently can't bind affinity anywhere nearby, so scratch that one.

If your trying to solo him and your not getting Summoned back its because your engaging him in his Lair , when you engage him make him chase you as close to the bridge as you can get him , once you get banished to the Shroom room sit and you will be summoned back
Invis all the way down to his lair. Just watch out the few wanderer shrooms that see invis. No locked doors.
It is possible to clear the entire lair before taking on Trak you just gotta wait untill Trak is in his little corner before you pull the lair trash. After you clear the lair run to the banish room and clear the 2 that are there and if your lucky kill the one wanderer that goes into that room if he's there as well. To get back from the banish room is simple. Invis, hug the left wall, skip the first room on the left and jump on the ledge to get back (little folk can't jump the ledge :P)
Now people have posted over and over again that if you do enough dmg he would just banish you and summon you back. For me that was not that case.(chalk it up to bad luck) I would easily do about 1-2k worth of dmg and he would banish me but never summon me back. I would run back to his lair and he would be still standing in the same place. It was only near the end when he was getting to about 30-40% that he would banish and summon me back.
His hits are nothing to worry about. I was only getting hit and bashed for about 170-280hp with a lucky 400 hit here and there (70 SK PoT/Qvic geared). All my resist fall in the 300-350 area and I resisted all of his spells except for Blinding Fear.
Dropped Colbalt, Cloak, 4 Teeth, and some cleric spells.
Was done yesterday with 70sk(me), 70war(thanks Bigrin!), 70cleric, 61wizard. I can see how it's very possible to duo even solo him but was nice to have the extra DPS.
On today's date I thought I would like to have a shot at Trakanon solo. I bought the scales in the bazaar, crafted the Metal Bits and gave them to the Gnome to receive my Lute Body. Run from Ak'Anon to Old Sebilis and find the UDB. Clear the adds around, turn in to UDB and pull him back to kill him. Trakanon spawns. I nuked/melee Trakanon down to 90% in no time and get banished. I hit my bandoiler to get rid of my weapon to prevent summons from the shroom and wait for the summon back from Trakanon.... and it never happened. I tried four different times, each time getting Trakanon near 90% health and he never once summoned me after the banish. It seems as if this was considered an exploit and may have been 'fixed'. Any other reports on this will be appreciated. I have never tried Trakanon before and am now very sour.
One more note to add, I also tried getting a single Jugg add and beating him down to summon me after Trakanon's banish. The Jugg summoned me back once but did not again after that point. Maybe 2-3 Jugg's summoning you could keep the banish/summon process rolling long enough to kill Trakanon.
It appears that one could work around the fact that Trakanon will no longer summon as stated above. I went another go at him today and was going to clear the lair, the banish point and the see invis mobs on the way but there were an over abundance of healing shrooms so I couldn't get everything dead before repops. So I decided to just brute force it... I cleared the lair, killed UDB and engaged trak. I got him to 90% again before the banish so this seems to be a fixed value, or I am just doing consistent damage in the time it takes him to banish. I ran back, training all mobs with me and continued to beat on Trak. Got him to 60% and he banished me again. I figured "Hey, I've got him like this, I will just run back and whoop him as many times as needed till he is dead." Well half way back Trakanon's health jumps to 100% instantly. The damn shrooms healed his ***. So, the only way to solo his is to be a pet class who's pet can solo him (you can heal your pet and not get aggro) or clear the lair, banish room and all see invis leading back to the lair then just invis back each time (invis pots FTW). I will post back here when I have successfully soloe'd Trak given the current nerf.
Einor Inglorien (70 druid) and I Kinakin Stargazer (70 Necro) on Firiona Vie duoed this baby yesterday. Kalysta post further down was pretty good. You clear the banishrom but I advise you to pet pull or regular pull the jugs infront of trakanon. They are harder then he is. Clearing jugs should start with the wanderer before the bridge and up until you engage Trak.
trak has very high magic resists ( resisting splurt even and like every other ancient lifetap spell if not more) My fire spells landed easily enough but didnt have time to check other resist as he died rather rapidly. he will banish and sometimes summon you back but I just invised up and headed back. 1 running back while the other kept him busy.
The 2 major AE you need to worry abouyt are a 200min poision dot and a fire dot. 300-350 ish + in both resists should keep you safe from both. Any healing class should have this as cake at 70 as he has so little hp its just about surviving.
hits on avrage in mid 400 did however get a few 650 ish and 1x at 1146. He quads and bashes for up to 150 ish. Einor could probably solo him easily but help clearing down didnt hurt so one has some spare mana pool. Me as a necro Id say Id need more hp and the rest of my defensiv AAs.
Also trak easily agroes if you try to fight his guardian Jugs so pet pulling we found to be safest. And incase everything goes fubar having cleared the banishroom first doesnt hurt.
