There's a reason people don't know what Mayong Mistmoore drops: he hasn't been in game since beta except as part of GM events. That says nothing about the difficulty, since players have become far more powerful since beta...
On the other hand with the introduction of Velious, there are probably a number of NPC's out there that are more difficult than Trakanon.

Trakky is the greatest challenge in Kunark. Takes a good 30 people to drop him, provided they're well balanced groups and all composed of 55+ people. Hits for 650ish damage, has an AoE Poison Rain that can hit you even with 210 PR (happened to me =). Incredibly hard to even get to. Even then you have a bunch of Sebilite Juggernauts or whatnot guarding him, so you have to keep em mezzed mid fight. Pulling mobs around Tolapumj (spelled like that, yes its very close to Jumpalot. =) can aggro him and his friends. Has a "Trakanon Touch", a 2000 hp lifetap. Summons. Also drops "Trakanon Guts," the component for the Bard Epic.

i would think that VP would be a greater challange.... but trakky is the baddest single mob in kunark. nothing in vp can touch this guy for dmg per second or straight hps. you are litteraly comparing apples to the orchard.
thusly, VP is a more difficult zone than OS, but trakanon is harder as a single mob than anything in VP, to my knowledge.

I went to Trak's liar using my sneak-skill. 1st I rooted Trak and hit it with an Ice comet and splurt.Both stacked. I snared it and i used sup cammouflage to pull Trak to zone without adds. I finished Trak meleeing easy. Looted it and zoned quick.

TIP: wipe the whole zone, you don't want those other mobs aggroing on you...luckily I had a lvl 60 ranger to help me clear everything...

Hmm, does anyone know a place where succesful guilds post their strategy for killing trak including: grouping, mix of attackers, most succesful spell lines, ways to possibly include pets, logistics of dealing with protector and Tump, etc?

There might be a place where that stuff would be but it would be hard to find. On my server only 1 guild ever got all there members the key. I met a guy whos guid was trying but he said it would take a month. One thing I heard it takes 3 days for trak to spwan and that is real days so that is one thing.

Hello? Not unndead? Take a look at his left front leg, part of his arm is gone, when things are all gruesem and rotten looking, it means they are undead. Can you prove that trak aint undead? If your answer is Ward Undead doesnt work on him, read the other posts, people said Ward Undead doesnt work on high lvl npcs

No its a fact, whenever you try to use any undead specific spell on trakanon it says: This creature is not undead. And Trakanon is on his own faction btw not ring of scale, when you kill him Trakanon goes down Legion of Cabilis goes up

If you read the story Trakanon is not undead. He's not even dead, yet. He's trapped in sebilis slowly dying, thats why his skin is falling off. He's going crazy can he can't reach the dragon necropolis, eternal resting place of the dragons.

the spell will always be resisted on anything above 57, there is absolutely no chance for it to hit, hands down, it just wont.

Hey all EQ players I wanna tell you about the duping bug in eq, try it now if you don't afraid to be ban.
(1) you need to have 2 computers, 2 EQ accounts together and have a 1/100 sec timer
(2) Go to Arena
(3) create a new lv 1 character and go to PvP zone, lv 1 char start to logout and you press the 1/100 sec timer at once when you press "camp" buttom
(4) calculate a DD spell you want to use to kill your lv 1 char, for example, the casting time of your spell is 2.5 sec, i.e. 30 sec - 2.5 sec = 27.5 sec.
(5) try to kill your lv 1 char within 27.47 - 27.53 sec
(6) if you success, your lv 1 char will not die and you have another corpse
(7) hahaha

i was reading in the lore section of allakhazam's realm and found a text on a guy named edril who found trakanon and the dragon told him that upon his death the final fight for norrath will begin. Well, trakanon has been killed several times and nothing happened! trakanon, you lied to us!
That would mean Verant would be doing an actual interactive changing game instead of just releasing new maps every few months for more money that never ever change.

I think what he meant when he said upon his death final fight begins is talking about u are able to fight more dragons in Veeshan's Peak....that is after u finish the key quest
