Spells?
# Jan 26 2002 at 11:34 AM Rating: Default
I was looking at my spells and I looked at the spell "Cripple" so I could turn it in to get Clarity2 (or at least try) and someone said that Cripple drops in CoM off of these things...Is this true?If you know then please tell me.

The best place I've found for spells is BW, in the first 15 minutes i was there 2 copies of Cripple dropped(scribed one, the other I traded in for C2). No other spells dropped there that night(we were there for another 2 hours at least, I'd say. I've heard alot of ppl just camping the giant fort. Kill the FG Ancients for spells, and the other giants also have a chance at Forest Loops, so you could walk away with some spells and some nice loot to sell.

These things appear to have a fairly large loot table, but also drop only rarely. In the 30 or so I've killed we've gotten:
Springwood club (about equivalent to Dark Ember)
Spell: Upheaval (51 Druid, 52 Cleric... I think)
Spell: something else, don't remember

Another point of reference is that three goos spawn in the central hut, but I've only ever seen any drops off of the goo that spawns on the central platform by himself. He's also much harder than the two that spawn off to the side. Generally hits for 117 max and has probably 4-6k hp. Snare/Fear (51 druid/sk team) was resisted about 1/3 of the time.

Easy To Kill
# Dec 01 2001 at 2:06 AM Rating: Default
The easiest way i have found to kill these as a druid is to pull with a small DoT and runn back to camp and root and lay all of your remaining DoTs in and med up. This can be done repeatedly and easily solo by a druid 53+ and is pretty good experience with a chance for some nice drops. =)
Goo has over 5000 HP
# Oct 30 2001 at 8:05 PM Rating: Good
Been soloing here in CoM for about a week now been killing pretty much everything outside castle. So far i keep geting rare drop of the Runewood Staff nature. Nothing to call home about by any means. Well i got tired of taking Phantoms out and such so i moved to Goo building and thought i'd give it a shot. Well 8 515 dmg nukes later goo was at 30percent life and sadly enough i only had enough mana to cast a couple atones to make it forget about me so i Atoned it and said ***** doing that. So if you a shammy or druid that has the dmg output to take these out be my guest. Me being a cleric well im sticking to the ghosts.
Peace out,
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 14 2001 at 12:00 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Verant must have wasted a whole brain storming session coming up with this one. This is how it went: "god damn we are never going to think of a name" the verant company is in ruins over this and then suddenly "gyrating goo" why the hell not?
Monkey loads of $#!

Hidden Reavers
# May 27 2001 at 6:43 PM Rating: Default
After clearing the whole castle area 3 times our guild still had 3 reavers on tracking and we never could find them. Anyone have any idea where the hidden ones are? We killed the ones in top tower and one below...
RE: Hidden Reavers
# Feb 21 2003 at 4:50 AM Rating: Decent
After you enter the first locked door to castle there is one reaver and about 6 Phantom, Golem, Skel types. Just past that its a narrow hall way going right takes you up a ramp and to the Huts in the sky and invisible ramp. If you go LEFT there will be a small square on the floor thats wided enough for about 2 Ogres to stand on, if a Rogue with 201+ lockpicking does it on that floor its will raise. Its a locked elevator. At the top are the rest of the reavers you were tracking. Hope this helps ;)
easy way to kill goos
# Nov 11 2000 at 2:06 PM Rating: Default
one when ever i go to com i stock up on skin componets then you have multiple people root and nuke try to cast a root as almost every other spell and they dont agro unless you attack and they dont family agro so you could have the puler zone and then pick them off one at a time

The hell they don't family agro.

I frequently kill 3 of these at a time. The only times thy don't family agro is when you are so high lvl above them that they don't bother any longer. The lvl 43 to 47 version of this one will always family agro, whereas the lvl 39-43 version will almost never family agro if puller is lvl 53+.

Perfect spot to hunt these is to the left of the goo temple (one lvl 45ish, and 2 lvl 41ish). You can kill the 45ish goo, then kill off the 41ish goos all day long if you are lvl 53-55. After 55 the lvl 41ish goos are a waste of time. You can typically single pull the 41ish goos out of the house on the left of the goo temple as well (few goo spawns there all 41ish).

This is a perfect spot for a mage, druid, sham to camp at lvl 53-55. Can pull these things all day long and they are almost always alone and almost never have to zone one.

NOT RANDOM DROPS
# Nov 06 2000 at 6:31 AM Rating: Default
The drops are not random, certain drops off certain mobs, The Goo in the middle dropped a cleric spell for us. As posted b4 it also drops Wintry club.

Greater PlagueBones drop Runewood Great Staffs
PlagueBones drop WB Hammers (they hold them in their hands)
Mist Golems Also drop spells. (All kinds, the one we got was druid)

When most people say random drops they are referring to ultra rare drops, not actually random. I've gotten a wintry club and 3 or 4 spells from these things and I've killed hundreds of lvl 45ish ones. They also drop lost staff of the scorned, which I'm told is a very nice wizard item. Also heard of a springwood club dropping from one of these. Pretty decent 1hb for wis casters.
Gyrating Goo
# Sep 04 2000 at 10:52 AM Rating: Decent
Whoa. Fast and hard are 2 words to describe the goo. And they also move very fast. Not at all like you'd expect goo to move. I was getting hit for about 110. It seems to me that tanks are a must in CoM period.

Ooze lvl
# Jun 26 2000 at 5:06 PM Rating: Good
Just fought one of these with a small group. The highest I saw was a lvl 47 that seemed to at least double hit for a max of 172 (not me thank god). It had a ton of hps like most high lvl mobs, so it took a long time to kill with just one Warrior. The Cleric (48) was OOM and so was I (45 Wiz) before the Warrior (46) killed it with half hps left. The drops were only research items that I saw, not sure what the rare drops are.
RE: Ooze lvl
# Sep 05 2000 at 10:40 AM Rating: Good
Well, my husband and I have fought there for quite a while, and we have fought and killed a goo that was red to him at 45. The higher lvl ones 47-48 drop enchanter and cleric spells so far, we have gotten one of each.
"Super Goo"
# Sep 03 2000 at 1:15 PM Rating: Good
The level 47 version of this, affectionately referred to as "super goo" on Tunare, drops various 51+ spells, and the wintry club. He hits VERY hard and has around 5000 or so hit points by my guess. I've killed him with about 10 different group combinations and each time, he's a hard kill. He hits for 119 and spawns in the middle of the goo temple. Placeholders are about 43 to 45. Only way to tell it's "super goo" is to con him or fight him =).

The middle spawn in goo temple is always lvl 43 to 47. The lvl 45+ ones can drop 50+ kunark spells. The maximum i've seen one hit me for is 121 and I've killed at least a hundred by pulling from the sky on the right side of goo temple.

You pull from sky by rooting, then go back to your camp and let the mob tell all his friends about you for like 10 minutes, then come back and they will pop out of the little symbol on the wall and if you run correctly to your camp you will only have a maximum of 3 on you. If you kill them too fast you can stand right underneath that grey symbol on the wall where the round house is directly above you and other mobs will agro from the house. run around till you get a few of these agrod on you then go back to your camp and kill them off.

I've never seen anything drop off a goo but the 45+ jewelry stuff like fire opal, and high lvl research stuff.

Edit: after zone is cleared of all different type of mobs, including all 3 lords and all of the 7 black reavers the 45+ mobs in this zone start to drop spells and better loot. I went a week straight while they were patching velious stuff and didn't get a damn thing, then after 2 guilds had raids and killed everything off tons of stuff started dropping, including a trance stick but that was off a phantom. If you are coming here just for loot I reccomend waiting until the server has been up for a week or you won't get anything but junk and maybe a wraithbone.

There is no super goo, just 2 different versions of goo. One is lvl 38ish, the other is lvl 45ish. The higher lvl, the better chance of a drop. I've also been told that green jade broadswords drop off these as well. Again, I cannot confirm that, but it came from a reliable source so I would say its possible.

Wu's sticks

Anyone know do these drop the monk sticks? Or what it is in Mist that drops em, any help would be really appreciated
These must be stronger than the ones in
# May 12 2000 at 2:14 PM Rating: Default
These must be tougher than the ones in Dalnir. I haven't been to Mist yet so I'm not sure. But the ones in Dalnir con blue (sometimes green) to me at lvl 35.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 30 2001 at 11:23 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well, if you look at the maximum level for the mob, it shows 47. Pretty good indication that these guys are tougher than Dalnirs is that they are listed as being equal or higher level than you while the Dalnir ones are sometimes green to you. Good deductive reasoning there.
