a rare creature

This named Goblin is found in the goblin fort in Warsliks woods and also in at least two of the goblin-infested ruins in the same zone. His gloves really are quite nice. Grachnist soaks up a lot of damage for his level.

I saw him pop just outside of the FoB zone line. Firts time I saw him he conned blue and proceeded to beat the living snot out of me. After I zoned and healed I went back in and he conned yellow. Druid friend came along and helped me poo all over him. Looted Iksar Scaled Gloves and Totem of The Warrior Spirit. Hope this helps.
My take

At lvl 36 this isnt that bad of a camp for a pally. I have been at this fort for quite sometime just hanging out and camping Grach. I have found that it is much easier to just sit at the on the Dalnir side of the bridge and clear that section out til Grach pops. (usually he spawns on every 3rd cycle, but totally random)I have killed him more times than I can count, only loosing 1 battle thanks to the healing powers of his goblin healing buddy whacking at my back and healing him. But in all the times I have fought him I have seen only 5 skulls 1 totem and 1 shurnken earring. This is a very boring camp. But just killing in this 1 area I have had better luck with drops than anyone else camping the entire fort. For a Paladin at lvl 35 or so I would suggest having LoH up and full set of buffs with full mana....first off cast whatever STR buff you have to increase your attack rating (he is very hard to hit at his lvl) and casting Yalup throughout the entire fight, root him before you ever swing. He hits very hard and can take you to half health in no time flat. At this point back off from him ..heal yourself and cast root again...key is to keep him rooted so that you CAN back away and get that last healing power of a bubble of health to take him out. I use either a Mith 2HS or a Drakkel Icereaver. Both are effective against him.

If anyone is interested in the Shrunken Goblin Skull Earring or Totem of the Warrior Spirit, I will sell both at resonable prices. Just send me a tell.

From my experience, this camp isn't worth it. When I was fighting at the giant fort, camping the Bandit Lord and corpse running to Dalnir, I used to dream of the day I could camp ol' Grach. Well, I tried this in the high 30's and had problems. For an untwinked monk, he was too tough and his friends noramlly tipped the battle in his favor.

Once I got to 40. This camp became manageable. Unlike other lucky souls, I have killed him about 100 times. My loot has been, 100 gloves, 2 whips, 4 skulls, NO earrings and NO totems. I guess its just monk bad luck.

Seems like a better caster with a pet camp than a melee camp. Just to much running. At first, slaughtering is fun but by the fourth cycle through the fort and Grach still hasn't shown his ugly head, it starts getting old.

If you are a glutten for puinishment, be sure to have sow potions or be able to cast it. The gobbies run fast. Take out the casters first. They love to buff/heal everything around them and they cast sow on others. Keep an eye out for higher levels. Anyone over 40 that stays in this zone is either PLing someone or looking to camp Grachnist. Nothing else in this zone worth camping. Identify how many goblins you can kill before they begin to respawn and stay in that area. BY 43, I was able to clear the entire fort, except for the 5 spawn across the bridge and the sentries at the fort entrance. Whatever your kill range is, be sure to eliminate all casters who are close. They love to heal runners. On several occasions, I would get a Grach spawn in the same location after the second spawn was cleared. (Side note: I have noticed that many lore items tend to drop in pairs. Hunted in CC for 6 levels before I saw a Black Crystal robe drop off a herblist and the next herbalist had another BCR. Same with Oracle cloak, I finally got one and 2 oracles later, I got another. Worst example was being 17 in Kurns tower and found a Solists Icy Wand. Next day, I went back into Kurns and found another but couldn't pick it up, lol.)

Good Luck,
Durl

The respawn here is 15 minutes, which makes this camp atleast entertaining, ripping the faces off low lvl goblins is MY idea of fun. Plus you get sweet sweet FV faction.

I was camping Grachnist The Destroyer in the Goblin Camp last night and to my surprise out of the 5 Grachnists' 3 of them where Blue to me at level 45.

I'm a Enchanter on the Seventh Hammer Server with max HP of 945 buffed. Not sure is Verant buffed this guy up, but be carefull if you are around level 35 and think you can take him. I died once during my short camp. With my pet i could take Grachnist , weaken and discordent mind 4 times and death to the Destroyer.

Anyway good luck.
the lowdown

For all who want to know heres the lowdown on Grach D.

There are 2 feasible camp sites in WW for this guy, the main one is the goblin camp which I am sure everyone knows about, there are about 25 static goblin spawns here, Grach can spawn in place of any one of these static spawns, in addition there are several gobbo's that wonder the camp, again grach can replace any of these. It is possible to have multiple Grachs up at any one time.
There are also a couple of ruins on the path from the main gobbo camp to OT, containing about 7 static spawn goblins, grach can also replace any of these at random, this is the bum deal camp if the main goblin camp is already taken. If you are camping here you can also wonder up the path to the iksar pariah/exile ruins to take out the bandit lord and get the bracers of scavenging (Worth a few hundred pp on A Ro).

Grach D has a ton of hits for his lvl, I could solo him as a monk at lvl 40 with average eq, I would need to mend and bind after the fight, would need to rest between fights if two were up at the same time and occasionaly feign and start from scratch if things didnt go my way. He hits for around a max of 75, if he has the whip he hits quicker so disarm is a must.
Always clear casters out first (soothsayers, bloodtracers, witchdoctors) as they will buff his speed and attack, alternatively pull him away from casters range. Alternate your views to check for wandering adds, warriors, agressors and soothsayers are prone to joining in and can tip the balance of a fight thw wrong way. There are several safe spots to pull to, the middle of the bridge was my favourite at lower levels, always clear of wanderers. Now I usually kill everything else and then kill him where he stands.

His loot tables as listed above are way out. I have killed this guy around 300 times. He drops the following loot and nothing else (apart from random loot drops like words runes low valued gems etc)...

Iksar scaled gloves AC10 +3 str/dex +10hp (Good gloves but lore, and so common every adventurer and his dog has got a pair, some poeple still try and sell these in EC *laugh*). These drop every time.
Goblin slavers whip 5/23 +10hp 1HS (also wieldable by monks!?! junk nonetheless)
Grachs skull (Used for a quest).
Totem of the warrior spirit +3 str/wis +10hp (Range slot item, seen sold for between 1-3k very rare)
Shrunken goblin skull earring AC3 Effect Grim aura (Sells for around 5k on A Ro, rare)

I did the camp yesterday for around 5 hours, here's the loot pull off.

Grach 1: Gloves Whip
Grach 2: Gloves
Grach 3: Gloves Skull
Grach 4: Gloves Skull
Grach 5: Gloves
Grach 6: Gloves
Grach 7: Gloves Totem (First one I ever got)
Grach 8: Gloves Skull
Grach 9: Gloves
Grach 10: Gloves Skull
Grach 11: Gloves
Grach 12: Gloves Skull
Grach 13: Gloves
Grach 14: Gloves
Grach 15: Gloves
Grach 16: Gloves
Grach 17: Gloves Skull
Grach 18: Gloves
Grach 19: Gloves
Grach 20: Gloves Skull
Grach 21: Gloves Whip
Grach 22: Gloves
Grach 23: Gloves
Grach 24: Gloves Skull
Grach 25: Gloves

I got bored at this point and left (my monk was at 166/121 weight carrying round all the cash I had looted). The bottom line is this, if you camp Grach D and get a Totem or Earring in only an hour of open play then you are lucky (gratsss), they are rare (the totem being rarer in my opinion, I have looted many earrings in the past and got my first totem today). Realistically you should expect to camp this for a fair few hours and there is still no guarantee of success.

One other thing, avoid pit fighter dob unless you have a cleric or shaman available. At lvl 48 I still cringe at the sight of him, you need a cure disease or similar to remove his DOT.

Leaving the DOB room alone I could do a circuit of the camp in around 12 mins which is about bang on the repop timer, this also means the casters dont get chance to buff the goblins or themselves making further circuits of the camp even easier.

Camp checks: This camp is also notorios for camp thieves. This goes out to the minority of lvl 50-60 ********* out there who think they own the game and are above common decency. ?!*& OFF.

If you want to keep your camp and someone is ignoring the fact you have been there for five hours already, make sure you log your eq session from the beginning, politely tell the player in question you have been there for ages and you will buzz him when you leave so he can come then, if he starts attacking Grach D get close enough to log him or his pet attacking it and /petition giving a screen dump. I have seen at least 2 arrogant players have there accounts marked by GM's this way :) For the lower level campers out there, occasionally a high leveller will complain that you cant clear the entire camp, if this is the case then let them have the bit across the bridge, there are only 5 spawns there, it will enable you to more easily clear the main camp and it wont be worth the other players time killing 5 gobbo's and then waiting for the repop so they will probably just go and leave you in peace.

The more polite players out there will usually shout camp check so make sure to listen out and shout up if necessary.

Oh 1 last thing, I usually fill my inventory with 8 slot back packs when doing this camp, nothing bites more than camping for 6 hours and not getting anything, at least I can collect gems, runes, words etc and sell them on for a little cash as a booby prize if its not my day.

Thats all, happy hunting.

Forgot to mention, doesnt matter what level you are, trivial loot does not apply in this zone, so earrings and totems will drop for a lvl 1 (theorhetically) as often as for a lvl 60. Also I have gone from being *scowls* in Firiona Vie to *ally* (you need to kill several thousand goblins to do this). Never seen another Iksar outside the FV bank yet! One word of caution, there are a couple of guys on the pier that leads to the boat who still hate me, I think they are on some barbarian faction, and they hurt. If you are running for the boat in FV be careful, run to the boat and fd if you can when they finally stop casting.

Everyone thought Zorash was bad. Got the boots in 5 min. This one is the problem for me.
Tactics I've used that work.
# Aug 18 2001 at 12:08 PM Rating: Default
My strategy for camping the fort as a monk at level 40 and 41 is to first clear the place of any goblin casters. Once they are out the way, no more buffs for Grachnist. :)

Then I usually camp all the tents and the gate. The reason for this is because by the time you kill the last goblin, you have time for maybe two or three more kills before they start respawning again. Now this is nearly of vital importance as Grachnist is like people say loaded with hit points, and that little pause can give you time to bandage up.

These spawns occur anywhere within the fort, from any place holder and he can pop more than once at a time. That’s the good news, the bad news is higher level players. Not all, but a good 50% will just run in and slaughter every goblin in the fort. So far none have kill stolen him from me, but they allow all the buffing goblins the chance to respawn, and if you think he’s hard unbuffed wait till he has heals etc. However in these instances you have to change tactics. Either make a deal like you hunt there and me here, or roll, but make sure you just hunt goblins in a way to maintain hit points at full, because Grachist is more likely to spawn with their farming the fort.

So far I have looted the Shrunken Goblin Skull Earring (1), Goblin Slaver's Whip (1), Iksar Scaled Gloves (every drop) and the Totem of the Warrior Spirit (1) from about 7 or so spawns. The skull of Grachnish has dropped twice for me as well.

PS avoid fighting the Pit Fighter Dob as although he’ll be blue too at 41, he has this nasty strong disease spell, which my monk still has 1 hour after I killed him. :(

I was running from DL to CoM and took the long way through WW. Being in a hurry, I decided to cut across the zone and take the bridge near the waterfall (just south of the canyon). This MOB was sitting on the bridge, waiting to collect a toll I guess. Conned blue to me and started whacking when i crossed the bridge. Since I was solo and not sure if he casts anything I just ran like crazy to the FoB zone. He was by himself so it would have been an easy kill for me. If I knew he had decent loot (the gloves) I would have stayed and fought. Oh well, live and learn.

You know, if this stupid creature didnt spawn every 8 seconds and always have those gloves, they might actually be worth something. Oh well, I wouldn't pay a pp for these gloves anymore.
I hate this camp!!

I just spent 12 hours nonstop killing goblins in this place, took out the guy at least 40, matbe 50 times and got nothing but gloves, skulls and a lame whip, he would spawn sometimes back to back, other times we saw 3 up at a time, i think theres something up with the drop rate here, could be cause i'm to high for him to drop the earring(level 54) i don't know but if thats the case verant should at least tell people cause it's bull$hit to waste a whole day like this and have totally nothing to show for it.
Multiple Spawns...
# Jul 29 2001 at 6:47 AM Rating: Excellent
As I was camping Grac tonight, at one point there were SIX spawns of him at the same time. Sadly though, he only dropped the Iksar Gloves...

His spawn point is RANDOM, simply keep killing all the Goblins in the fort, and he will spawn (fairly quickly I might add)

Ok, take the advice from a expert. I have camped Grachnist the Destroyer about 10 billion times, no joke. =/
Seriously though, here are the drops I have seen off him.
1. 100,000 iksar scaled gloves
2. About 3 totems
3. 1 shrunken goblin skull earring
And about 20 or so heads.
I have NEVER seen him drop any scaled wolf hide stuff, and once I saw him drop the whip. I seriously am beginning to think he does not drop any wolf hide, not like it matters.
I am a 40 shadowknight and can solo him fairly easily without harmtouch, although he has defeated me many times in the past.
And also, when camping this guy watch out for Pitfighter Dob. He can be nasty if you pull him and Grachnist. /hug feign death.
Hope this clears up a few issues on this board, and good luck to you all, unless you're trying to steal my Grachnist camp. =)

Just out of selfish curiousity, has anyone gone from KoS dubious or above in Cabalis/FV? I'm an Ogre Shm (Rallos Zek), so I'm mostly looking for exreme cases here. My friend (an Ogre Sk worshipping Cazic, same god as Cabalis) was up to threateningly in fairly short order, but I seem to be stuck at the bottom. =(

my ogre SK worshipping CT has gone from KOS 2 amiable amongst the legion of cabilis simply by hunting in the sarnak fort from 19-30 and hunting in OT from 31-32...when i kill a sarnak it says "Your faction could not possibly get worse with Brood of Xotiz?" Keep in mind killing sarnaks is only part of the faction the crusaders of greenmist hate me very much almost had an incident when i attempted 2 enter town >:O

Takes forever, but yes, your faction will eventually improve in FV if you keep killing mobs that give that faction.

I camped Grachnist camp for about 7 days, just went round the camp in circles clearing it out, killed grach about 200 times. Got 3 earrings, misc heads, 2 whips, 6 gazillion pairs of gloves. Never got any Totem, but I know that does drop, also never seen "earring of Grachnist" or scaled wolf hide stuff so that is either a hoax or has been removed from the loot table. I estimate I killed around 4000 goblins and as an iksar monk who was KOS in fv I got up to amiable with the freaky lil elves.

If you want to get FV faction this way, be prepared, it takes a long long time, like 12-24 hours playing time, depending on what you did in the past and how quick you can mash the gobbo's.

I have to say tho, if you get an earring and you killed less than 10 grachs you have been VERY lucky.

One last thing, if you find the camp is camped, back track on the path towards OT for a minute or so, there are some goblin ruins close to the path, just camp these, I got an earring by killing grach there before, better for the low lvl's tho as there are not as many gobbo's

I am indifferent to the Cabilis guards largely from camping this guy (but it is pointless unless you want to turn in thousands of bonechips because there are like 5 factions in Cabilis). I can even tell you the approximate number of kills. I started keeping track of faction hits at level 29 and have taken 1099 +hits to Legion of Cabilis. I would estimate that I prolly took an additional 300-400 +hits while leveling from 24 to 29 in LOIO.

My friend (a 43rd level Iksar Monk on Morell-Thule) just got the Warrior totem yesterday (7/15/01), so I'd say there's no level cap. Sadly, I've heard he no longer drops the Totem of the Wizened Spirits, but I was unable to have a GM confirm this. He still has only dropped the gloves for me. =( All that bashin' and I'm STILL KoS in Cabalis (Ogre Shm).
