Words of AsylumMe a lvl 53mage, a lvl 54mage and a lvl 51 mage came here to camp this guy and the named wurm. This guys hits for 137dmg and has alot of hp's, but we killed him fairly easily. Our 3 pets combinded with shield of lava on could solo.. but i doubt soloable. We killed him within 1 minute of an 18minute spawn time for about 3-4hours and never got 1 dirt drop for epic.
We killed the wurms ph and all other mobs in the area hoping to kill Phurzikon or Nezekezena for the embers, neither spawned once in that time.
On my note of frustration i have invested 20hours into the blazing and lava elementals and got no power of fire, 50hours into quillmane and no cloak. and these are the "easy" parts of our epic. WTF this is gay for a game to consume this much time... Verant if u read this u REALLY need to fix some chit.

The cloak is the third hardest part of the quest and then the power of fire is just a pain to get, not even mentioning the crown of elemental mastery or the staff of mastery earth. once you camp those 2 you can start complaining.

I concur... I was the lvl. 51 mage. Long spawn time for a drop which seems to be rare. As to the number of long camps for the mage epic, especially the blazing elemental (I got it after about 20 hours of camping time, and feel lucky) and Quillmane (I have not even bothered to try): too bad that the quest designers could not come up with more fights like Tarbul, or dungeon situations like the Frenzied room in LGuk or the gypsy dancers in MM. That would encourage/force us to group with others as well as help other people with their quests (melee types to get a fbss, bards to get MM drums or a gypsy lute). This current set of camps seems to encourage us to, well, camp. I am not sure I need more practice at that, lol.
I do not mind things taking time, but when it is me reading a book and letting my stopwatch remind me when it is time to go back to the computer to insta-kill some green spawn, that is not quality time. Not to mention that sometimes we are forced to camp something that other people would love to kill for exp...

Being a lvl 51 mage atm as well, I would like to wholeheartedly agree, quillmane, i have EASILY spent over 3kpp and 100 hours hunting and empty-handed am i. as for the pieces for the power of the elements...like the focus items, gotta stick with it. of the four, fire took longest.

It wouldn't matter if pegasus cloak was mage only; druids and rangers wouls still hunt it and sell the mq to us...

Hey Hugh, was the one that dropped the dirt IN the crater by the Meteor? Alla has two MOB's listed with the same name, so I don't know if one is static and one is roaming. I've killed the one on that ledge in the crater at least a dozen times now, no Dirt. BTW, I was 51 before I started hunting him, but I'd be very surprised if he was L50, he's maybe a little tougher then the Wurms but not too much.

Easy kill as 1/2 of a 51 Mage/Nec Combo, has roughly 6K HPs. Killed him 5 times last night, no drop of the Dirt, I'm wondering since Alla has two MOB's with the same name posted if he's the right one. He spawns right next to the Meteor up on a ledge, few wanderers except the occasional hornets.

He does drop the Dirt. Me (55 Mage), a 53 mage at the time and a 56 chanter easily killed him. First kill and got the dirt. The other mage had his dirt from a previous fight.

I recently killed this mob for my epic. I am only lvl 53 and am more than 70% through it. Anyway, Slixin was quite the lightweight. When we pulled him my 55 SK friend was landing spells on him (snare/fear) before I debuffed. So he isn't very resistant. He has a whole lotta hp tho. I wouldn't attempt him solo. I would reccomend bringing a necro/sk along to fear. And by the way you guys talk i was very lucky... he dropped me the dirt first kill.

I found him in the crater next to the meteor, he talks bout some quest obulus book.
my party killed him many times no dirt no loot ,4 of us 45 to 51 with no cleric, slix has lotta hp i was oom after each fight but, really not a hard mob to take down. (wheres the dirt)

This guy drop "Dirt of the Underfoot"? Thats what I read but doesn't say on loot table or any posts. Anyone know?

I was wandering around BW and near this mob I found a "heavy metallic crystal" laying on the ground. When identified, it says "Pure Iron for the Menhir". Does anyone have any idea what this thing is for??

That is one of 3 things needed to trigger the final part of the velium focus quest to get the phenocryst crystal

He conned indiff to my 48 dru. You can hail him, talks about a fallen tribe, and a medallion. I'm assuming part of the medallion quest for entrance to Veeshan's peak.

seems he drops something for the mage epic
Don't think he drops anything for loot, but by doing a quest for him you can get 1/4 of the veeshan's peak key
