I have solo'd Emerald from lvl45 and I'm within 1 yellow of 49. I killed 40-50 of these and got no drops at all.

Rangers solo?
# Feb 10 2002 at 4:09 PM Rating: Good
I tried to solo these tonight with my 43 Ranger. Not a problem, fear kiting works and they drop easily. Just try to stay out of melee range because some hit hard.

I have killed about 10 of these things now and I have yet to see any armor drop.

The bad thing about hunting these things is that they are not so common, so you hve to run around the whole zone to find one. And when you do its hard to pull it to the edge of the zone because of adds. It can be done but you have to be careful. Watch out for the froggs, because they are hard to see against the background of the zone. I recommend eyes of the cat so you can pick out the mobs from the background.

The exp in Trakanons Teeth is ok, but too much downtme trying to find animals for soloing. But a nice change of scenery and some added dangers which equate to a good time.

#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 27 2000 at 1:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The Trak Armor doesn't drop off the dino's in Emerald Jungle. It only drops off the named Trak in Trak's Teeth.

I am a level 28 warrior could i take these dinosaurs in a group, Are they good EXP? Which is the safest/closest way to get there? What is better here or Guk or Frontier mountains? And on the Gloves, Jaundiced bone are cheap, and if ya can;t afford those go to Karnors and get Jarasth Scale.

i dono. i wouldn't use them. they don't seem to good. i think shammies totemic gaunts give 5str and more ac so i'd use them over it
RE: Trak hide gloves

Neither Totemic nor these would be good for a shammy, get some split paw gloves, they got the most important stat you need WISDOM, who cares if they are cheap and appear low end. Until my druid can get a hold of anything else with wisdom on the hands (GE gloves, obtained from the planes) i am sticking with the split paw. I am not vain.

I'll have to agree with the most important stat idea about Wisdom. AC is nice if you get attacked, but I'm usually sitting back casting regen on myself and my party pre-fight, and healing during the fight or casting a DoT. I use Slow at the beginning of a fight and wait a short while for the tanks to build up hate then continue with my regular routine. Then again, my roommate plays an enchanter and usually takes care of the magic resistance debuffing so that's another taunt I don't worry about. That's neither here nor there.. my point: To ignore wisdom on a shaman/druid/cleric/paladin and go for AC is like tossing aside a nice +int item on a wizard for AC. Shamans aren't build to be tanks.

I'm sorry, did you say PALLY should take wis over ac? Could of sworn they were tanks rather than healers...

Sorry, but you are wrong. Don't get me wrong, wisdom is very important to a shaman, but the most important stat for a shaman is AC, not wisdom. The shaman slow spells and resistance debuffs are a MEGA taunt, and you need AC (especially at high levels) if you want to be able to withstand the beating that you are going to get.

Splitpaw Hide Gloves are decent enough for a druid, but they are complete junk to a shaman.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 20 2001 at 4:00 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) nonono they are not junk banded gloves are junk
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 24 2001 at 10:50 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) you must have never played a shamanbecuase u would know that wis IS there most impotant stat, everyone thinks shaman dont need to cast, WE DO!

I play a 45 shaman on a PvP server and I just about solo'd the whole way there. My shaman has never had more than 156 wisdom, but I have tried to keep his AC as high as I could get it. The other guy is correct, you have to be ready to take a beating as a shaman at higher levels because of the aggro you need to take sometimes. If you dont have an enchanter you have to root park mobs using dots to pull them off main. Need AC for that! Solo'n you need to step in from time to time to take aggro so your pet doesnt die, you have to share the beating with him. Wisdom is important but to max it at lower levels for trolls and ogres isnt easy...hell at higher levels its not, but AC you can get hold of.

As near as I can tell, these critters can't be stunned by bashing 'em with a shield. If they can be stunned with a bash/slam, they seem pretty resistant to it.
