Xalgoz  

I sol'd him tonight with a 53 shammy. I never had to heal myslef, and finished the wight with 65% health. He landed a couple of DOTs on me, but his fear spell never stuck. The big hassle is working your way down to him. I was new to Kaesora and my map was incomplete so it took a little while.

Camped him for around 6 hours as I was exping my group. Got him to spawn around 7 or 8 times but everytime he had 2 Xalgozian Fangs and a Shrunken Iksar Skull Necklace - never got any other loot from him?

These items been removed or they just super rare?

There have been posts stating that you can target Xalgoz then run behind the church and cast through a window. Well it seems you need to be sitting in the window frame to do this, and as of the DX9 patch a few weeks ago, my Erudite necromancer gets irretreivably stuck in the window. So make sure you can get *out* of the window before starting this procedue.

BTW Xalgoz is doable by a 44 necro, takes some work since he will dot you to death like any other necro. At 46 I can clear the entire church area and take down X no problem.

With Virtue - 3250hp, 1113ac. Just took him down and got my fang. FD flopped to church. South of the church is a clear area, so buffed there (Captain Nalot's Quickening, Kilva Skin of Flame) and then drank an IVU potion. Went into church, onto the stage, and then aggroed the PH and the nearest guard. These went down quickly without aggroing anything else. Then FD and /q, as I wanted to make sure my virtue didn't drop in the 30 minute wait :-)

Half hour later, logged back in, another PH. Took him and the guardian out, no other aggro. Drank another IVU potion, camped.

Half hour later, Logged back in, There's Xalgoz. Couldn't decide whether to go resistant or fearless, but figured fearless would probably be better, as I didn't want a pile of adds.

Attacked and concentrated on Xalgoz letting the 2 guardians just beat themselves to death on the DS. Switched to 2hb when I realised I was beating myself to death on his :-)

Used mend, finished fight with 40% health. Looted and ran back to clear area, aggroing whole church. FD'd and waited. Once clear, stood up and swigged down the gate potion.

It was sooo easy to get down to where Xalgoz is. I just havent gotten him to spawn...yet. Should be no problems for anyone that is 55+

I took this place alone with ease for my HS key. As a 65 Ranger I was self-buffed and never got into any situations where i couldn't have walked away from the keyboard and came back a few minutes later and still be alive =)

I went with some friends to get fangs for HS. We screwed around the whole time, was very fun. First time he popped, I had a pet charmed already, second pop, I charmed his ***. It was funny cause I could see all the buffs he was casting on himself ad stuff. I was dueling my shammy friend at the moment too, so X was casting and beating on him Lol After like 5min, we got bored and killed him. Was very fun night :D

I am a 65 paladin, tried going down to Xalgoz and got owned half way there.

Will I be able to solo this guy as a 53 warrior equipped this way?



I figure use my resist disc to up my resists for his spells and then just wade in and try and smoke him.

Xalgoz is on a 30min timer. All the other spawns in the area are on a 20min timer. He spawns on the dais in the church and has a placeholder. He'll always drop at least one Xalgozian Fang, sometimes two.

Long story short (kinda)...

I'm a level 54 beastlord. I had just finished up with a group in the Torgiran mines (where I got my black powder, woot!), and decided that while I still had some good buffs, I would run to Kaesora to get a Xalgoz fang for my Charasis key. I used invisibility to drop down through the holes, and run down towards the church area. The first time I saw an undead mob is where I stopped to summon my warder and buff us up for some greenie steamrolling. I fought my way down to the church, and cleared the mobs out of the first tower on the left, then the platform in front of the church. While I was fighting, I heard Xalgoz casting spells, so I thought to myself, "Great! He's already up for me to kill!". After clearing the platform, I pulled out the mobs in the room with him, and everything was ready for a nice safe fight with a low blue mob. I pulled Xalgoz out, and once my pet was on him, I dropped Ice Shard and Frost Shard on him for some fast damage early on (mainly because the other two folks who had entered the zone had already worked their way down to the church, and I could see them watching me fight on the platform ) , then stepped up to melee with him. Towards the end of the fight, he was almost dead, and my Ice Shard had refreshed, so I stepped back and let him have it. I was about to become a very happy Iksar!

I looted the corpse, and of course he had the shrunken skull medallion for the Iksar shaman cudgel quests. Great, my shaman is an Iksar, and he's almost to this part of the quests, so maybe I can MQ this necklace. Next, I looted my Xalgoz fang, and since I already have a Jade Chokidai Prod in the bank, my Charasis key is just a short time away. To top it all off... he also dropped the Staff of the Dreaded Gaze! My necromancer is level 52, and of course he's also an Iksar, so this staff will come in extremely handy for him! This was just one of those kills that makes you feel good about killing it, since I managed to loot three items that will help out three different Iksar of mine. Woot woot woot, I'm so glad I decided to run down to Kaesora and kill Xalgoz for his fang!
