What This Is

Hi,
I was soloing in FM with my 31 Mage, Mystyre. With fire pet, I killed him, but it was a big fight. He is a Mage without the pet. Cast Shock of Spikes on my pet. Between Healing my pet and blasting him, I was able to prevail. Dropped 3pp+.
He did not give FV or Cabilis faction.. Rather, he gave Brood of DiZok faction!

Treewynd

Heh.. Second one hit me with his shock of blades as I was trying to pull him to edge of zone from Burynia mine area, and my pet engaged.. Then a brute wandered through and I had to dodge him to get back to the fight. Before I could heal pet and start blasting, pet was dead. I gated.

LOL OMG look at all these post I really could give a crap after the first or second post that you saw one. How about letting me know what he drops.
Yeah, almost killed me

Conned blue to me at 31. If I didn't have SOW, I would've been a goner.
Undercon
# Oct 26 2001 at 1:54 PM Rating: Decent
I think its undercon. I took this mob on as a level 36 paladin and it almost won. Not worth fighting this one solo - stick with brutes, goblin raiders and whipcrackers.

Undercon?

I conned this ugly bugger at blue and figured what the heck, since I never seen him before. I led into with envenomed breath...RESIST...then cast Malise...RESIST...Then he hit me with two DD of 173 each. At 33, that took almost half my health as a shammy, so I ran...and outran him. Is this an undercon, or did I just approach the battle wrong? Should I have led with Affliction or tried Malise first? Just one shaman's opinion but this is one tough little dude for a bluebie.

What's up Verant ?
# May 08 2002 at 8:42 AM Rating: Default
Undercon is an understatement, they appear to be Magicians without the pets. He killed me at 39 (Shaman) with 50% mana and 75% health. What is Verant's deal ? They sure like making casters hit like warriors, this SOB hit me for 45+ on average melee damage. Plus he casted non-stop, hit me with a few rain AE dd's plus another fire based DD for 173. He had a crapload of HP's I casted Venom of the Snake, Targar's, and began beating the crap out of him along with my pet. Needless to say I died after his non stop casting and unlimited mana. I did over 800 Hp's of damage on him and he had about 10% Hp's left before I bought the farm. I really wish Verant would stop doing that, how many friggin Mages have 800 HP's at 30-33 without buffs ? NONE ! Jerks !
Anyway, when this bastage and I meet again he WILL die !
Take this guy seriously

one sad story...
# Aug 25 2001 at 11:18 AM Rating: Default
its tough enough for a 26 druid (now 27 but 26 at the time) to solo in fm. i tracked a gorging brute yellow. i kited him and medded till he almost died. i was oom when i was meleeing him he had NO HEALTH left when this little pervert walked up, healed him, cast drowsy on me, did his 176DD and did that shaman attack with the spirits of frost to me. this makes me think he is a shammy. btw, i DO think they jump you while invis. luckily wolf form saved my *** and i was able to retreat to the zone, too bad i trained sum1 ;) oh well, theyre bastards, avoid if you can

This guy is a magician he has a damage shield and a nasty AE spell. If he cast drowsy on you than he is a shaman. Dirtcallers aren't Shaman

dragons have 600 dmg aoes this guy is a lvl 30 mob but i am still scared of him if i see him i am getting the hell away from it
bad dude
# Jul 22 2001 at 9:22 AM Rating: Default
Besides a nasty nuke attack this bugger was hitting for 50-60 melee damage it was way tough for a white con, I managed to kill it but wasted my pet and left me with less than 1 bub of health thank god for fear and life trap.
This guy has a 600 dmg AoE...I see them, I run...at lvl 36(N

Best way to killem is to snare, root, then dot and get out. Run out of their spell range and wait for the dot to wear off. Then go back and repeat the process.

I believe they are wizzies. The reason why I say this is because they have no pets. I am a 32 necro(at the time) and one hit me with an ignite spell and the lacerate brought me down 3 bubs hp OUCH!. Definitely not worth it for their level. Be carefull with these SOB's!

First off these guys are magicians... they dont have pets but they cast magician nukes and damage shields... I made the mistake of pulling a white one as a 31 bard while grouped with a 31 druid, it has a nasty damage shield and is generally a pain to fight. Killed the druid and took me down to less than a bub before I killed it. Wouldnt have lasted long without the druid greater healing us.
Deadly
# Dec 07 2000 at 6:22 PM Rating: Default
These things are extremly deadly, and often strike without warning. They killed a level 30 druid in our group before we had anytime to react.
Invis?
# Nov 30 2000 at 2:37 PM Rating: Default
I've been solo'ing from the Lake zone, and two or three times I've been running around scouting and get this message about a dirtcaller casting his spell. Makes me wonder if they use invis, and then jump you when you trip over them. I'm usually pretty "awake" when I solo, and these things jumped me without my even knowing they were around.
Dustcryer?

A little difficult
# Oct 30 2000 at 1:38 PM Rating: Default
Had some difficulties as a level 36 warrior with a level 41 enchanter. We killed it, but not before it took me down 3 bubbles (I have 1500 hps). With an 81 magic resist, I still was getting smoked (hard to interupt too). Damage shield and fast weapons didn't help - I switched to a two hander, but not before I was down a bubble. It was blue to me and green to the enchanter.

I took it out relatively easily with my enchanter. Nuke and mez, nuke and mez. I can get the mez off before he can use the shock of blades or whatever it is he casts. I would recommend warriors just using taunts on mob to pull agro off of the enchanter while he nukes it into the ground. Worked for me solo. Good luck all
Anyone know what it casts?
# Oct 13 2000 at 9:31 AM Rating: Default
One of these guys took out my 30th druid guildmate friend after he healed at least 4 times trying to keep me alive... which he did, but then the dirtbag cast on him 3-4 times and killed him. I dispelled his damage shield and was able to finish him off in melee - barely.

I have ~1000 hps (34th Ranger) and I think with 3 casts he took me to 2 bubs, so I'm guessing the spell does about 200pts damage, maybe more.

Does anyone know what the hell that spell is?

Like everyone above said - they are way mean and as far as I'm concerned a terribe misconned. Anything that is blue, and can almost smoke two players is underrated for sure.
Also met one
# Jun 26 2000 at 8:56 PM Rating: Decent
I was a level 34 shaman at the time they have damage shield so i sic pet on to take the blasts and nuked this thing to hell luckily they dont have much hps. (about 900)
Met one of these last night..

I saw "a goblin dirtcaller begins to cast a spell" and managed to select him and con him just as it hit. Yellow at 30th, and obviously a caster, so I hit GATE just as he reached me, cast again, and started hitting me for high 60s in damage. Thanks to a high channeling, I landed in Firiona Vie down to 200hp out of 600-some.

Message was "you are lacerated"

Not a very friendly sort. Look forward to going back for them around 35th or with a group.

One wandered into our campsite...
# Jun 02 2000 at 7:45 AM Rating: Decent
We had one wander into our campsite and start attacking our tank (good thing as he had the most hitpoints), thankfully, I got a snare to stick to it and we were all able to make it to the zone. The tank had less than 2 bubs of health... (2 or 3 casts from the dirtcaller)
Tough
# May 17 2000 at 10:35 AM Rating: Decent
Took out a lvl 30 shammie in about 3 which is shorter than the cast time on greater heal. These guys are no joke. I think their magicians (at least that's the spell set they're using).
One bad MOB...
# May 11 2000 at 11:39 AM Rating: Decent
This guy is a caster and took out a lvl34 DE necro in just a few casts...
Watch out for these guys...
