From what i've seen hes ALWAYS there. evertyrime i check. So my guess is if hes killed he respawns reall quick and juss stays there waitin fir its next victim.

Ow man, that **** hurt! I can't believe he didn't get you Xarizen, that was total ********* Me and Mik dropped like flies and he just ******* gets away, even though he was right in front of that damned monkey. What the hell is wrong with the system today? It was pretty funny when Mik was trying to get the corpses back afterward though, eheh... :)

One night another monk and I (both 24) were wandering around bored in the FoB. Ever see the Tangrin says I. Nope, lets go says he. Upon arriving at the island I didn't see the monkey, needless to say he knew we were there and wiped my friend in less then a second as I feigned death right outta my sandals. ) He triple hit for 250. It took me about 20 minutes to recover my friends corpse because the Tangrin was standing on top of me the whole time. However.... about two weeks ago my guildmate tried the same thing standing on the second island (not the one with the wall) and the Tangrin aggroed and jumped into the water to swim across and promptly despawned. It didn’t summon so I suppose he was just lucky.

I was walking on the island, it came out attack me. Kill me(lv30) and my pet(lv29) in 2 secs. I died 2 more times trying to recover my corpse. It seems it can see invisi.

Ok ...i have read the posts and have talked to some who have taken this guy on, (i even got to see the way cool staff i will own someday) out of the 2 people that have done this one went in with 2 groups and had to try 3 times to get it done the other went in with one group and came out with a victory first try. the moral here.... 12 peeps that dont work together or have not worked with each other much are going to need to work hard for it. the other group (RL friends been playing together for almost 2 years) knew each others habits, styles and more importantly had each others trust cleaned house.... Looks like i need to start makeing friends hehe ....

I figured I would post this to give other Enchanters looking to kill this guy for their Sands of the Mystics some sort of idea what to show up with when they came to kill him. I checked here before I took a party out too see how tough he was but I didn't get any useful information unfortunatly. We took two groups to the Outpost in OT to kill the Guy for the SK epic and the guy for the Mage epic, both are lvl 55. We took two groups of ppl, one group was the puller (monk) and two hailers, so they never did any of the fighting. The group we had fighting was me (52 chanter) 3 lvl 54 Mages, a lvl 54 Druid and a lvl 52 Cleric. That night we killed the Mage guy (lvl 55) 3 times, the dragoons coutless times, the general (lvl 58) once, A Cliff Golem (lvl 58) and the SK epic guy once (lvl 55) We did this with only one death and that was when we accidently pulled everyone at once and got summoned back to our deaths. =/ After we were all done I thought, Hey, we can kill a lvl 54 ape if we can kill THESE guys right? Wrong. We got him down to a little under half, before the mages went OOM and we all got summoned to our death. He hits for around 230 on a regular basis, Stuns a LOT, and has HIGH MR. After Tash we couldn't get anything to stick, not snare, not fear, not slow, not Malo, not any of the mages Nukes, nothing. Wizzy lures would probly stick but I'm not sure because we didn't have any there. I'm going to go back in a week or so and try again with some Real tanks and more clerics, hopefully this time we will be successful. Good luck on this everyone!

We killed the ape, 10 level 60 druids do not even think about it. the post by tuls is the first accruate description here. went there with 3 groups of 55+, i was hunting with one of them so i got to tag along. (im level 36 wizzie, yes i stayed back lol) He resisted every starfire, by the way. does hit really, really fast for 250 as he bounces around this little island. We lost five level 55+ in the groups, and when he is about dead tends to take to the water so be prepared. Do not underestimate him at all, and if anyone says that they can solo, or even one group of level sixties can take him, they are complete liars!!!!!! really funny if you have ever seen this monkey. I do believe he has a lot more than 35,000 hp, took a long time to take him down. Oh, and i do have a screenshot of two of the groups! he dropped the epic quest item and we rolled on a blue diamond if you are curious. Hope i come this way again. good luck everyone and thanks tuls for your accurate description.

Now I know he has his 25 second stun and hits for 250 but I was hearing that a 60 necro or even a 60 druid can take him. Now we all know how bad *** necros are so it is a possibility. I was just wondering if anyone has seen someone attempt to solo this beast and what happened. I have heard by many he is un-soloable and by others that they have done it themself or seen it done. Anybody know if they can be taken by a wise lvl 60 necro and pet or a good kiter druid?

A druid and a necro are useless against him. He is totaly Magic resistant, so no Dots, Snares, or fears. On top of that he has an evil regen, and a bunch of hit points.

This thing has a high agro range, I once swam out to see him out of curiosity and he aggro'd on me before I even got out of the water. Takes a tandem group effort of post 50's to take him down. A pointless effort unless you are an enchanter trying to complete the quest.

Couple problems =). He summons so when you try to run away with him to the guards you just end up right next to him again. Also I hear he swims pretty damn fast so have fun running even if you get a sow. Finally the iksar guards tear apart everyone and thing =). He would be dead very fast I bet you. If you could pull him to a single guard I don't know but the 2 gate guards would rip him up.

This guy's only point is for the Enchanter epic. He drops the Sands of the Mystics. not a robe, not a weapon, just the sand. It takes 3 well balanced groups with at least 4 tanks in the upper 50s to take him down. Hes easily tougher to kill Nagafen.

I have a feeling you coned Targishin and not Tangrin. Targishin is 34 so he would obviously be blue.

I am sorry to say that your friend lied to you. He is no where near conning blue to a 35. My guess is that your friend saw the targishin who is a skeleton who kinda has the same sort of name. The skeleton is generally around 40 but that is my only guess as to how he conned what he thought was The Tangrin as a blue con.

This MOB is part of the Enchanter Epic quest. If it does drop any robe that's why it drops it is so you can turn around and give it to someone else for this quest. I haven't read the quest but have a couple of Chanter friends who have told me they have to kill this guy to do it.

Why, because the veteren players are running around with new super twinked characters or selling the loot on ebay. While those twinks run around killing reds newbies have little hope of getting anything good.

Verant took the robe outta the game. Some body wrote to gordon that it was way to powerful, and was very easy to get. Now it is no rent, so if anybody has one, it poofs when they log. Oh yeah, it also has a clickable stun spell effect, that takes 7 seconds to cast. Solo Venril Sathir, anyone?

my lvl 55 druid friend got the animal magic debuf off on this guy, then the lvl 55 shaman tried maliosi, didnt hold, and he didnt get a second chance at it, MONKEY STUNN!! damn resistances. oh was wondering, how did you guys kill him, just tank him down? and how many poeple did you have with you, what lvl. would like to kill this guy just cause. 8)

if someone has ever killed this guy, it would be like a dragon raid, ok, I have said it, he is like a dragon in difficulty and resist, he is not a normal mob, you will need at least 2 to 3 good groups with at least 7 of the 12 to 18 ppl to be tanks or the casters/healers will die on first cast

Alright... let's get something straight. This robe doesn't exist. The best robe in the game is called the shourd of Earten Shadow or something like that. It is like the Butcherblock hammer. It is an artifact which means one per server. It is erudite, human, gnome only and stats are AC 20 +15 INT, +50 HP + 100 mana and some SVs... That is the best robe in the game, so dont let anyone tell you any different. By the way the GBS isnt that rare of a drop... its just the spawn is very rare. Also you may notice that the guy who was talking about the robe didnt give a name. Whenever someone isnt specific about the name or stats on an item it probably doesnt exist

I'd like to see a 60 enchanter charm this thing, just to walk around /ooc-ing "Hey! Everybody! I got a big monkey...anybody wanna play with my monkey? He's a REALLY big monkey!" then watch as charm fades and the chanter has to run for his life, and not watch where he's going, and run into cabilis, and train a gigantic lvl 54 monkey on the guards, and the newbies, and if the monkey kills the guards, he sits around the newbie area for a little while, slaughtering all the ignorant little lizards, maybe eats a couple of those scaled wolves, takes a big dump in the path...
On a different track, if he killed the guards, would their corpses go poof? That would be hilarious...

First of all, the robe might be rare then the GBS...while you can get a GBS rather quickly if you know what to trigger(hehe, and I won't tell ya), my friend who has one of these robes told me that he(and some of his friends) had camped this monkey for a LONG time, I mean, for a week or so, about 4 hours or more a day(summer time hehe), and only 1 robe dropped the entire time, through about 100-200 kills...so i'm guessin that it is rarer then the GBS, bein the most powerful caster robe in the game...oh yeah, it's also got 25ac along with the 20int, 15sv poison magic disease fire cold, and the str

thats called robe of the earthern shadow or something, it was put on him once for a gm event on each server. Necro only, the best robe in the game btw, and i dont think it is no drop, which would be funny stuff on rallos zek to get that pked. but then again, we dont care about a big monkey on rallos.

The earthen shadow robe was from a GM event in MM. And no, that is a bunch of bs about the stats that the person said. I bet the person that posted that first comment is only level 10 trying to ack cool. (btw, the earthen shadow ones are lore, no drop, artifact, so you cant get PKed.:)

The guild 'Isengard' on Saryrn recently organised a killing of the tangrin.
He hits hard and has a stun effect. We had no casultys. But there was no loot either. All he had on him was a enchanters research page.
