In Newbie Zones: Newbie fare snake, the moss snakes are often used as an excellent source of exp for the low level player. While their little fangs sell for almost nothing (1 to 2 cp) they can be used in some quests to help with extra exp through questing. Their eggs count as food, making them an excellent money saver to hold onto for later. These (and all level 1) snakes do not posion you.

In Fungal Forest: These snakes are a little meaner, hitting for a max ~8,000.

Team Huggles guild finially rounded up enough newbies, low level traders/mules and guests to form up an extermination raid in East Commonlands with the viscious Moss Snakes as the primary objective. Now, hearding that many over anxious young levels ( 1- 9 ) into a a raid was more work than it should have been. The thirty or so traders, mules, and newbies with only peer level buffs and mostly empty handed ran around the zone tracking moss snakes and trouncing them thoroughly. The group of Dwarves had the highest kill count, and the group of Wood Elves had the highest body count. There was also a bit of gleefull squabbling over who's turn it was to loot the most uber of drops, snake egg. The groups with Trolls and Ogres spent most of their time training the Freeport Milita in parades around the zone. The Dark Elves plotted many various ways to take out Druid Hill, but nothing came of their plans.

Everyone should be part of an Extermination Raid at least once. It is also good traing for new players to learn the fundamentals of how a raid is organized, the various commands, etc. This was really fun! Try it!

Where are these guys most populus? If thats even a word.. but where should i look for them?
My a moss snake hunting skills are not too leet. And question II, are ALL snake fang drops exactly the same? So 'a snake' will drop a fang that is the same as a fang from 'a moss snake', correct?

WHY did VI bother to put in more than one type of snake? ALL at lv1, to date I know of three,

A snake
A Stonesnake
A moss snake.

WHAT IS THE POINT?!?!?!

The simplest answer is there is a *global* file and a *local* file, for textures, *global* textures can be seen in any zone, anywhere in EQ, IE All pet textures, and illusions, among other things. *local* files are unique to EVERY ZONE. therefore that completely removes the need to have teh same model or name for each snake in each newbie zone, therefore allowing for variety as previous poster said.

This is easily the easiest thing in the entire game to kill. Easy even for a lvl 1 on their first kill.

Are frequently used colorfully to describe things by the higher levelers. "That thing is a moss snake!" when describing anything that isn't particularly hard.
