Scaling the fires: You've been charged to take care of the beasts wreaking havoc in the area. There's not much to it. In fact, its probably one of the easiest things you'll ever do. first things first, kill 10 mature wurms. we don't want to let them off easy. Be sure to loot 4 wurm scale' that'll teach them. Time is of the essence' so get out there.

Step 1: Kill 10 Mature wurms
Step 2: Loot 4 Wurm scales
Step 3: ???????? dont kno yet will fix when i kno

Reward: 28pp 6gp 4sp 6cp
Piece of mind...

Soloing these for about 1% a piece with my 52 necro. The wurm scales are for various tasks with the new OOW expansion. Easy way to kill... hit with Insidious Retro, Splurt and send in pet with haste. After it hits about 80, hit it with Cascading Darkness and if you've drawn it away from adds enough, fear it. Runs when it hits 20% usually. A few times it just kept on coming, but that's the exception rather than the rule. Also drops some really nice merchant fodder, the mithril amulet which sells for about 95pp with a 150 charisma.
Any help?

Ello all. I need a few spells that drop off these creatures, and I have never been to this zone. So, could anyone be so kinda as to point out a safe camp ground, on this map [link=http://www.eqatlas.com/kunark/skyfiremtnsmap.html where I can pull these easily and safely from? Any help and advice is greatly welcomed and appreciated.

Wurm Scales?

I've killed a few of these. Didn't get any spells yet, but have 3 wurm scales. Anyone know what they are for?

The scales are not NO DROP, Lore, or stackable, if that helps anyone.

fought everything here except ancient wyvern and guardian wurms never been summoned don't know if they nerfed that or what mostly hunt the higher level stuff in a nice spot my friend found near VP where we pull anything to a nice safe spot with no wanderers. Just one last note saw someone saying the ancient wyvren may not spawn anymore saw him on the night before holloween right near the OT zone while exploring red to me at 52 heard it summons didnt try
Easy for 53+ druid

If you are a 53+ druid just snare, root, cast Winged Death and use your ES arms. Pretty easy to kill with winged death and ES arms. Takes maybe 7 or 8 casts though.
The REAL way to fight em ;-)

Just get yourself a shammy or 'chanter and debuff and slow em, then melee em. They are no problem at all after that. I (a lvl 47 Ogre Warrior) and a lvl 47 Ogre Shaman can take these no problem. If I had better weapons it'd be even easier ;-) . Shammy resist debuffs, slows, melee debuffs, then poison dots then meds. That's all there is too it. I and his pet finish em off, usually only have to heal once or twice. This strategy works great if your third party member is cleric (CHeal heaven in here :) ).

You have bad grammar.
Summoning.

I didn't con it (silly me), but as soon as I snared it, it summoned me. I gated immediately, and am glad it succeeded...I escaped with about forty hitpoints. Here I thought only level 51+ mobs summoned. Is this mob special, or is the level listed above wrong?

Mature Wurms don't summon and no mob will summon you unless it's been damaged, it is possible that you attacked a guardian wurm that was damaged by a group killing them at VP entrance and it hadn't fully regened yet, when you aggroed it it immediately summoned you *shrug*

you probably had a guardian wurm... mature wurms don't summon

Interesting, me and shammy partner have killed many of these with no summoning. May have been a special one. They seem slower than the regular wurms. We have gotten a couple of spell drops from them. Sweet exp for 2 lvl 51's
Enough HP already

I solo'd one of these with my 53 wizard. It had many times more hp than I had mana so I had to root and med. I had to recast my buffs twice during the battle it took so long. They resist fire and have some magic resistance so sometimes I would have to cast root up to 3 times to get it to stick. I was using level 49 Paralyzing Earth so when and if it stuck it would remain rooted for up to 3 minutes during which I could med up enough for another ice comet. It is an easy kill for somebody with nothing but free time on their hands. Not sure of the exact HP because my nukes scrolled off the top of the text buffer. Next time I'll have to count, if there is a next time: The 2 plat and words of convocation I got in loot didn't impress me much. Overall, I'd say they're not worth killing unless you wish to kill time for half an hour.

These things are cake if you bring a necro. just toss a slow spell so when fear breaks someone doesn't die. I'd say these things have about 10k hps? Not too bad but its still a lot of hps.
