Kunark gobbies got a waist most super models would kill for! To bad there butt ugly. At least Kunark gobbies are smart enough to pull there pants up unlike the ones in HHK that i satred at for the better part of 12 odd levels.
The Wurm has a better damage deley ratio then the Staff which makes it better right there BUT you can also use a sheild or another weapon with the Wurm which makes it EVEN BETTER.
Maybe true but how difficult is it to get (lagit, no twinking) the Wurm Slayer compared to getting this staff. From what I have read this staff is much easier. You get what ya pay for (fight for in this case). Of course now days it's not unusual to see multiple newbs running around with a wurmslayer. Twinks abound!! Can't wait to read this statement in a very short time from some twink " WURM SLAYER THATS A NICE NEWBIE WEAPON from 20 to 30 OR SO " LOL it will likely happen!!
Me a 47 troll sk, and a 43 druid went looking for him. We ran into him and were unprepared, he was hitting me for 90's constantly and the stupid pet wouldnt leave the druid alone, so we evaced and went back with a plan. We killed everything in sight and he still snuck up on us but we had him to a quarter of his health then out of nowhere 4 more goblins jumped in, which was no big deal but i started missing him constantly and he started hitting me with a barrage of 90+ damage hits, so we evaced again but i was getting hit by him, 4 other goblins and the damn pet and died just before the evac took affect. Kind of embarassing actually. My only suggestion is kill everything, I mean everything before trying to kill this guy, or u might get jumped by more than u can handle.
Similar set up when I got my staff. Me, a 42 warrior together with a 45 druid. First attempt I tried to tank him while druid banish summoned pet then tried to heal me once he cleared pet. Druid went OOM from this guy beating me down so hard. We had to run.
Our second attempt druid rooted and DoT'd him while I tanked and killed his pet. Once he was a third of the way down on health I finished him with melee. The key is taking his 97/hit melee ability out of his hands.. his spells aren't that tough nor is his pet dog if you have someone else to occupy it.
I take it that you haven't been at this mob? He's deep (well not so deep but anyway) inside the twisty caves that will make get you lost if you haven't learned them beforehand with invis. I just went to see this guy just to see his ugly face. There is lots of gobs (caster ones too) running around him. there's no way to take him outside without clearing the path pretty well. Then again, i'm just a poor newbie and might have mis-understood your message. -- Fizzl, 27 lvl ranger Defenders of mithril hall Xev
Me (lvl 40 sham at time), and friend (lvl 44 mage at time). Whipped out pets at the entrance by the yellow brick road =P stam, agil, and shield spelled mage. same on myself but added talisman.
Talisman on the 2 pets, str and dex buffs. sowed everyone... chloro up... just started roamin thru mines being careful around every corner. (always sneaks up on ya anyhow heh) You will eventually find him and his pet and they will be set on you before you can do anything about it. mage pet sets on gorelik, I set my pet on him also. I then cast something on goreliks pet to get him agrod on me. drag him around a corner real quick while pets and mage is eating away at gorelik. root his pet away from us, come back and start casting on gorelik. If your pets are about to die, you might as well gate, so nuke him fast or slow spell him. he hits double 97s and has quickness so you want to take him out without getting meleed. He killed us once by jumping us while our pets were busy attacking other mobs. we tried to kill him while 3 other mobs were on us. I got him to about 5% and got toasted... mage was busy being whacked by pet
Guy is not to be taken lightly, but if hes busy being whacked on by pets he doesnt seem to cast a whole lot. I would suspect one or two spells from him per minute, although he likes to start early with slow and root spells so magicres if you can. If he gets you rooted in melee range yer toast.
Anyhow got him 2 times, he got us once. Both times he dropped the staff. Very nice 28 dmg 45 dly war only. if it was a sword, youd see everyone using one just like every 35+ shaman has a jade prod and a charred shield. This thing is way better than an Exe Axe and all I could get for it is an RMB. Oh well, hopefully warriors will come around as this item is fairly easy to get with the 2 hour spawn rate.
At level 25 I hit a crippling blow for 175 last night. Max normal hit is around 75. I call it my Whooping Stick. It sells for so cheap because no one knows 2hb! Mine is up to 120 now. =)
Gorelik is pretty easy to a druid of high level solo. I think the reason is that something about snare makes many mobs who are casters intent on beating on you with melee and they don't cast much. I've had great luck with the chancellor sarnak guy in this same zone doing the same thing. I snare goreliks pet first, then gorelik. I try to wait until hes in one of the many long halls great for this. Then I get to one end swarm, starfire if time, run back to the opposite end starfire (usually taking one hit for 97 in the middle.) occasionally he tries to root which usually fails and blast cold (put on cold res, magic res, and chlorplast before the fight) Usually the fight is surprisingly easy with me hardly losing any hp at level 50. The only times it turned bad is when I did not get him in a hallway that was long enough and i was avoiding other gobs. I found it works best if even 3 other gobs are around assiting him to ensnare them all too, wait for clumping and continue doing it the same way. When hes dead i loot the staff and gate to my bind near the zone to frontier mountains, forgetting about the dog.
The staff is a ver nice weapon, 28/45. Lord Gorelik drops it every time and has a spawn rate of around 2 hours. He is kinda weak for a lvl 40 mob, 3 lvl 40s can take him if cautious. Heck I took him on with 2 groups of lvl 25-30s. Great loot for such an easy and predictible mob.
He spawns in the goblin fortress and wanders about, he cannot see invis, so what I did was follow him around his route while invis, then chose a good spot to ambush him on his next pass. He can be a little tough, as he melees for 97 with the staff and is a shammie and all. (likes to cast Togor's on the pet, very annoying!) A key thing to remember is to get him alone so the weaker gobbos don't interfere, and remember to Nullify Magic him at the start of the fight! He's a shammie, wiping away all his shammie buffs with Nullify makes him a lot easier.

As a Rogue lvl 55 he hits hard enough to take me to my last bub to kill him a real gamble for a Rogue to consider soloing. A few buffs and poison is a must to take this guy on he must haste buff himself.
Dont underestimate this guy. He soaked up 2000+ hps of dd from me (46th wiz) as well as being meleed by a 43rd Ogre Warrior and 42 shaman. This guy and his pooch managed to kill us all solo. At one point he cast an Invulnerable on himself. Ugh! Tough fight for a stick.
