Chancellor of Di`zok

Monster

Uploaded July 24th, 2007

This shaman can be found deep within the Sarnak fortress in the Lake of Ill Omen. He is a fair bit stronger than the rest of the Sarnaks in the area.

He is often hunted for his spear which is usable by shamans, and is also a part of the quest for the key to Charasis.

Chancellor of Di`Zok now has a small chance to spawn anywhere in the Sarnak Fort in the Lake of Ill Omen. The throne spawn location for the Chancellor now spawns much more frequently, but is no longer guaranteed to be the Chancellor of Di`Zok.

Seems I need the Charasis Key to get in to get the book from the library there for the Mage Epic 2. And to get the key I need to get the Jade Chokidai Prod off this mob. My question is this, I am max ally to the Di'zok in Chardok, when I kill this guy how far down will my faction go?

Pull Spot: looking at his throne i stood on the right hand side - had 0 adds
Group: none

Strat:
He popped and I immediately casted Ice. He summoned his pet, then I casted Exile Summon on his pet once - took it to 9% or so - then casted Engorging Roots on his pet and killed it. I stacked Winged Death and Breath of Ro. Then casted Ice one more time - he was at 20%. To finish him off I casted Scoria. Looted the prod and took off to PoK. Easily resisted all his crap with 118-136 resists.

That I must say is a beautiful Post..
The method you use to post and the Info given is Parfectly done... One thing i would have added is the Class... By Looking at the buffs and spells used i could tell you were a druid, but not everyone might. That being Said.. I wish Anyone who posted an "I killed this mob...." post would use your format... Lets try to make this a standard And I will be the First to name it the "Heiben The Braindead" Standard of EQ posting. Again Thank you and Continue to post like this, please :)

His location in The Lake of Ill Omen is -2516, +5017. If you have a map it's the biggest room in the Sarnak fort. As a 50 shadowknight with only virtue(3.7k hp) I pulled him to the left of the throne if you are facing it. (Which is a great spot thanks for the tip) Then proceeded to beat him down. By the time he was dead I was at 26% health and OOM. Simply invis to him and beat him up. No adds at all, dropped the prod. If you are a melee without and casting abilities(i.e. warrior, monk) and he slows you, you prolly will die at level 50. Cause he slowed me and my spear line of spells finished him off.

Go to www.eqatlas.com and look up the Sarnak Fortress in the Lake of Ill Omen. There is a specific location for this guy shown deep in the fortress.

This punk will soon feel the wrath of a mid-40s necro. Don't need to be 10+ levels over a mob to solo him!

# Apr 06 2004 at 12:39 PM Rating: Decent
Seems this mob is currently bugged (on The Rathe at least). Tracking showed me running right past him, even though he wasn't there, so my guess is he's under the world. Didn't wait for a GM to show up, but I was there for longer than his two hour spawn time, and nothing.

Went down in about 20 seconds to a 62 ranger with nothing but SoW on. I didn't have to cast anything and by the end of the fight I had more than 90% hp.
easy
# Jan 30 2004 at 9:47 PM Rating: Default
easy, did it when i hit 55, pulled everything 1 by 1 and killed it, the chancellor was a bit harder though.... should have saved the prod, now that im 65 i decided to go for the key... he has been down everytime i go there so far...
Chancellor
# Jan 06 2004 at 10:56 PM Rating: Default
Very easy kill for 60 Druid. I went into Great Hall with Superior Improved Camo, went into the far right corner adjacent to the throne. There was one Adherent between me and the throne. Rooted/Snared him Wildfire and a quick Scoraie and he was done. Then rooted Chancellor. Had Banishment up for pet and got rid of him. DoT'ed Chancellor with WD,BoR DoD,WD and he was done. He did cast several Poison spells would be good idea to have Magic and Poison Resists up.

wizzy solo
# Sep 08 2003 at 4:56 PM Rating: Decent
For the 52 wizzy, i used to kill him a bit when my wizzy was the same lvl the best tacic i found was to wait in left corner for roamers to leave same as you but i just pulled him by rooting his pet at the throne and then tanked the chancellor while i chain nuked (you channel some nukes but mostly you'll get your nukes off while the dumbass stops meleeing to slow you) best luck i had was with draugbht of ro due to the 3 second cast time and less chances for interrupt, make sure to have manaskin up (or was it diamond at that lvl) for a little bit of an edge. And like you said loot prod and gate ;-)
lfg..

Hate to tell you but while zone this is the SHIZNIT by the date of your post i can tell you that you're gonna spend ALOT of time lfg and all you'll see is the occasional farmer and maybe a group going to kill drusilla for greenmist or spirit wracked chord quests :-( unfortunately people nowadays would rather sit at a zone out and kill the same 10 mobs over and over again rather than face even a moderate challange for better exp and any kind of actual fun. However if you can get a group of low 50s together north and west wings are great exp for you, you can take south but the swarms of casters make pulling irritating, and i would stay away from east... good luck man this is an awesome zone!

Ok Here is what not to do. I pulled him all the way out of the fort so I wouldn't have any adds. Bad idea. Got him down to about 20% and he gates back to spawn point. Grrrr...By the time I mend up and BW and work back in he was dead.

Here is what to do

So I try again today. Work my way in clear the room and then use my Resistance Disc. I sneak up behind him and take him on. I did have to use my Mend during the fight and had one add but I still had about 30% health at the end of the fight. The resistance Disc is what made this possible. No spell hit me. Got my key now its time to LFG for Howling Stones...WOOT

Two hour respawn time.
duoed with 46 chanter/44 druid
# Jun 11 2003 at 2:37 AM Rating: Default
46 chanter and 46 druid soloed him for the spear. We set up in the corner to the right of the throne. First thing we did was harmony everything we could. Then I (chanter) started by charming an adherent. I like having caster pets. Then I mezzed di'zok and so his pet came after us. No problem, wasted the pet pretty quickly. Then pulled the chancellor, but we ran into the problem with this room which is WANDERING ADDS.

Sarnaks ALL OVER, and they move fast. We had 3-4 adds on us...I was mezzing but unfortunately I had hasted my pet and he kept breaking mez (the change to prevent pets from breaking mez is really great, except it doesn't interrupt attacks currently in progress...be careful when hasting pets...)

Finally I just started chain stunning and then nuked the chancellor down when I got frustrated. At that point the druid evac'ed us (barely, after 3 interrupts).

If I had to do it over I'd clear out a few more of the sarnaks first, and then charm his pet. The other mobs are so much greener than the chancellor that they don't do much of anything to him.

# Apr 05 2003 at 4:22 PM Rating: Decent
Just soloed him for his Prod and took it off him). Reasonably easy. Go into the fight at full mana, you will need it all. Loaded up all my resists, and cleared a few of the yard trash away first. Stood in the corner to the right of his throne, rooted him, and drew pet out. Rooted per. Ran back and ensnared and dotted Chancellor. Ran back out of Chancellor's casting range, and did a bit of medding. Reapplied dots, and finished off with a fiery blast of starfire. Took his prod and gate out ) Easy....

Easier to root the pet on the opening shot. He has a 50/50 chance of trying to throw a spell on you, during which you are attempting to root him.

Soloed him at 51 using my Vocerate Earth pet. Sent in pet buffed with BO3, Expediance, and SoL. Healed him a few times, and then cast EM on the Chancellor. He never hit me once.
Bard solo takedown
# Mar 20 2003 at 10:11 AM Rating: Decent
He was a pretty easy fight for a 55 bard. For a moment I considered swarming the entire room (it's big enough) but with casters I thought better of it.

Travel song'd to the corner, waited, as posts say here, for the path to be clear of greens and pulled. Only distance song I had up was largos binding so his pet reached me first. The only mistake I made was when I found out his pet could not be charmed, I didn't immediately charm him to kill his pet. As a result, I had to pull the mez and heal stunt once as I didn't have my resist gear on.

Overall it could have been a cake fight if I'd prepared a tad better. Got my Jade Proc for the HS key and promptly ran over to Kaesora for the other part. Could likely be done by a lower level bard if you don't get adds (fairly easy to do if patient), charm him to kill his pet, have your resist gear on, slow, haste and regen and you'll be fine.
Chancellor
# Jan 23 2003 at 2:35 PM Rating: Good

Ok,
52 wizzie here to impart some information that hopefully may be of some assistance in battling this guy. First, the corner to the left of the throne seems to be the safer of the two suggested spots for camping; I never incurred any aggro there. I also noticed that the small collection of minions gathered round him rotate on a pathing timer and if patient will, at some point, all leave on individually patrol. From here there is generally a 3-minute (+/-) window of opportunity for engagement.
My attack was as follows: (1) AoE snare him and the pet (2) stunned and rooted him (3) walked pet out of radius (4) Dropped a Rain (4) popped his meat sack with a IC and Draught(5) Looted-gate.

G'luck on the kill,
Marcavious Wrothriel
