My group was taking these things out quite a bit tonight, and we got super lucky- one dropped, of all things, an Earring of Station, I kid you not- we were all very surprised. Another dropped a Tabard, which was pleasant as well, and the usual good coin. The Adherants have quite nice drops for their level and are not that difficult to kill, although magic resist buffs are indicated. In my experience, they mostly cast Walking Sleep as well as a DoT of some sort, poison based.
I was soloing these ugly looking creatures at 24.A necro can solo tese things easily. They also have the dagger and Tabard which a rare drops I think.I killed like 7 of them and only got one Tabard.
These are incredibly easy, at least to a 28 druid, i just root it first, then if it roots me, it doesn't matter. It dropped a shaman only helm 5 ac, +3 wis, i think it is quest item, but not sure. The only trouble i have had was when i was fighting a dragoon, and one of these bastards roots me...
A ranger and I were soloing Sarnaks and he got 1 to many. I pulled one of these off of him. He dropped a Sarnak Emblazoned Tabard 14ac 10hp 10sv magic. Too bad my Barbarian can't wear it as it is small/medium races.
I solo these guys alot, they've been blue since level 25, they will cast walking sleep or poison first, then try to nuke or dispell, then root you so watch out. (Had a blast pulling two of them out of the castle once)
I killed one solo with lev 30 and it was not so easy like some say it cost me half live and 75% of mana to root and nuke him and i would saz he was about lev 28 (guess from gained exp). I would not suggest to solo him to early
These guys don't have much in the way of HPs. My friend and I, both lvl 20 shaman took a red one out fairly easily. His Spirit Strike DD and Poison DoTs can add up, but if you just root and nuke, he shouldn't be a problem. You can pretty much count on being rooted yourself though, so don't plan on running too far. :)
I was with a full group outside the back door of the Sarnak fortress today, and we were pulling 2 and 3 Sarnaks at a time. At one point, all but one of us was busy attacking a Sarnak Legionaire, when all of a sudden, we were all hit with Poison Storm, a 24th level Shaman Area Effect spell. Turns out the Adherant targeted one of us and did damage to everyone in the area, including the Legionaire. First mob I've seen that's willing to damage one of it's own with an Area Effect spell.
I am a 25 druid. I ran arounf the castle for 4 hours stright with Camo. I was hunting only yhr Adherents, ALL of them conned blue to me. They also drop a rather nice Tunic but i have killed Approx. 50 of them and have only seen one.
These things also drop some kind of Claws look just like the Bladed thulian Claws and they work well with Btc. They are Ultr rare and are called Sarnak ------ Claws Really nice sorry for scetchy facts.
It is the Sarnak Revenant who is tough and casts fear/dots. The adherants have never been trouble for my groups whereas the revenants have caused a few deaths. Dunno about levels, I was usually too busy taunting and whacking to con the things :)
the adherants do not cast fear or clinging darkness. an adherant is a shaman sarnak. the lvl is a bit off. i have yet to see one less than 22. at 19 they were blood red. oh by the way. if you have a shaman friend, hope he is close by. these guys drop an Iksar skull helm. it is 5ac is a light source and adds 3 to wis. this item is no drop and is has a leather look.
one last thing. they are simple to take down. they hit hard but have low HP.
first of all ive conned one and its been yellow to me (im lvl 25) so the lvl is wrong. (ill fight them again tonite to make sure) also if you pull a few of these to your group then things can get ugly quick.
they cast fear, root, dispells, clinging darkness (DOT which also snares), on top of whatever DD spell they have. like i said a few of these can make things nasty fast.
