im lvl 40 and i can solo them so i went to pull one and i came out with three thay agro from a long distence and thay het for 75 max and thats like 2 time out of the battle and thay have up to what it seems to me 2000hp and thats LOW for a mod at that lvl
Funny how these little kooks swim in place with one arm gimping. Then I noticed one of them had a Harpoon he wanted to hand over! I whispered into his ear something about how my pet liked his shorts and he got upset and fell over dead! Sheesh, my pet was so embarrased!
I saw a 35 Iksar shaman soloing these without a pet. His tactic was DoT and then root it out. I suppose you could use a your poochie but I do think that it would die to quickly. Good Luck with them
started em solo as a 45 druid. they have about 1k hp's as 2 drifting deaths take em out. Key is to harmony the pairs then root snare dot med rinse and repeat hehe. in maybe 8 kills got half a bub so no better xp up to about 50.
These things have about 1400 hps. 2 conflags at lvl 48 (doing 622ish damage) left them with a smiggin of hps left. An ice shock (lvl 34 nuke, 320 dd) finished them off easily. I could take on 2 spawns per bar of mana at 48 leaving me at about 20 - 30m.
Half a blue of exp for 2 of them. Not exactly as good as quadding but not too bad. :)
Fire resist appears to be quite low, Magic resist low, Ice resist medium.
I am soloing these at lvl 45 for fairly good xp . There easy to pull cause they spawn far enough away from each other ot safley pull one to the bank or in my case if you have enduring breath (camp glubbsink in the faydwer port to get a spear with unlimited charges of enduring breath much easier than carrying around fish scales)you can melee them underwater if they resist snare alot. I cast call of sky / str of earth / feet like cat / firefist and sow swim down snare one swimup to shore melee it heal my self and repeat till OOM .
3. Gimpy city...they hit for upper 70's to low 80;s...there are mobs in OT who hit harder than that and have more HP and are actually a lower level than the BG's
4. Each pillar comes with a convenient double spawn, no adds if you fight them right then and there
Now, when I fight BG's, I NEVER pull them anywhere. Reason for that is that I'm a mage, and I don't see any advantage to it. Scout out the area underwater sometime invis (they don't see through it) and see what I mean. The main construction with the dome on top is safe at its top, then the ledge halfway down it with a pillar at each of the four corners. This is basically a merry-go-round of phat xp. You just go from one spawn point to the next, and if you kill them and take a bit to med, they don't take very long at all to pop if your the only one camping them.
Info on BG's spawns: Each pillar has 2 BG's who spawn at them. at many of them, you will only see one. DO NOT BE FOOLED! Always remember, young grasshopper...crouching bloodgill, hidden gobby! There's ALWAYS one around the corner unless somebody is camping it and intentionally ******** up the spawn. The chance of there being only 1 at ANY spot except the 1 pillar out from the beach near the sarny fort is zero to NONE. Many people I know have found this out the hard way..they pull one with snare and try to kite underwater, then the other one agro's and seems to "come out of nowhere" to kill them. BG's do not roam from their spawns, they simply have a VERY far assist radius. An AOE snare if you line it up right and their near each other will work, but if you only see one, again, DON"T FALL FOR IT. When you attack one, the biggest chance is that the other will come prancing in and start hitting you too. BG's HP's are always not very high and they don't hit too hard, but 2 can hurt on anyone unless your intentionally pet tanking like I do. That said, here's what I do to take them.
Mage strategy: Get out an earth pet. High HP, and sometimes it will root and you'll find your pet only fighting 1 gimpy BG while the other one sits a few feet away out of range and whimpers to himself. I suggest you have the 44 spells before trying this solo. Anywho, burnout 2 the earth pet, DS it, and then send it after the nearest BG. Now sit down and watch. Pet will be taking a mild beating but if your lucky, it won't be dying outright. Btw, did I mention ALWAYS FOCUS THE PETS! I can't see any reason why you wouldn't have your focuses at this level...but I digress. So the pet is tanking 2 BG's now. Hit your /pet report health Hotkey. If its health is around 50 percent, now is your time to cast a heal on it. 1 heal should do it, 2 if you feel you need it. Next, hit the /assist hotkey with your pet targetted. This BG's HP should be very low because it's been concentrated on by the pet the entire duration of the fight. One Shock of Swords, and bam, its on DM or dead. Next, turn to the second spawn that your pet is now focused on. If its HP is 30 or so percent and your pet isn't about to die, give him a happy shock of swords and now you have another DM or dead BG. Other mages I know have done this with elemental maelstrom and chain healing the pet, I'm just suggesting what works in my view. I like to do these with another mage as a partner usually, but its not required. Just be careful. And once you've killed one spawn, move around the pillar to the next spawn point, med up, let the pet regen, and do it again. You can get some pretty nice xp doing bloodgills. On my server, at some times they'll be camped, but usually I'm one of the only, if not the only, person down there.
Anyway, have fun with this. The BG's are probably the easiest clump spawns I've seen for a long time, and the loot isn't too bad. 4 orange in a hell level and 300 pp in 2 days isn't too bad in my book.
Live a little!

I'm a 43rd Level wiz and these guys are the bomb for xp. Here's what I do:
Jboots, Lev, Steelskin, Greater Shielding, and invis. Swim my happy butt down and SoTF a couple... Swim up real fast and bunch those 2 up... Move to next pillar, swim down and do it again. Now bunch all 4 of them up. Run them to the shore and then it gets pretty easy. BoF and CoF till dead. I see close to 1 1/2 blues per pull, and still have 2 blues of mana left. med for 4 mins, rinse and repeat. You can level VERY fast this way. Just remember to shout for Iksar SKs when those scales drop. They appreciate it.
I solo this gobbies alot (lvl 45). They are very easy especially for an Sk to fear/kite. They are even easier for Iksars to solo when you got 225 swimming skill =p
Im a SK and i can solo these easy at 47 and now 48 still good exp. Marauder drops a piece of the VEESHAN peeks key quest if u see him up and can kill him DO IT ! hes usualy camped 24/7 plus hes a 8 hour spawn.
Quick question...could anyone tell me if melee classes around 45 can solo these pesky gobs? Or if there is a strategy that any Paladins have come up with? Any help is greatly appreciated 8) thx

i played a 35 cleric and a 26 druid on my two computers. I figured it would be a breeze. well, with my cleric i pulled with a DD swam striaght up and with levitate from the druid i floated to shore. where i was saddened to find all on my druids spells were resisted and my cleric was half dead..i sat my druid down and memmed healing and used all the mana to heal my cleric whilst using the last of the clerics mana to cast wrath and finally a fear spell....well the fear lasted a LONG time and it enabled me to get enough mana to cast one more wrath which in turn persuaded my wet smiling friend to limp towards the Iksar city and all the while I prodded it forward with a few bonks of 5s to 10s about its pointy ears. well 10 minutes later it just died of old age i guess and i rifled its pockets for a hefty sum of ten silver..now to try the barracuda
can a 40 Mage take one? no JBoots... if not w/o jboots, then can i kite them with jboots?to anyone who says a mage cant kite, i have kited specs in oasis...
Has anybody had luck quad kiting these things? I was going to give it a try when i found that it only took about 5 casts of lightning strike to kill one, but it's so damned hard to see clearly down there and backpedeling is impossible underwater, that it made me wonder if pulling all 4 might be impossible to safely do at level 45. If anybody has managed to quad kite these please post how it has gone for you.
Well, I've never hunted them, so I'm gonna guess their as social as the other Gobs. The way I see it, Quading them wouldn't be all that hard, but getting four to chase you might be. Unless they hang out in groups.
If you can get four to chase you, well, then you'd probably want Lev on so you can run with SoW above the water to get them on the shore. The use the snare/AoE like normal.
I'm gonna guess these would be good exp. If you make it to the shore safely.
Just a warning to those camping the shore and pulling from the goblin tower. While you may never see them on land they do appear there rarely. I do not know if this is because they like to "stretch their legs" occassionally and wander from their spawn spot or if it is the result of a pull gone awry. Whatever the reason be aware that what looks very much like any other land Gob is an ENTIRELY different beast. My group of low 20s was methodically churning out xp when one of these joined a pull. Needless to say the "Loading Please Wait" quickly followed.
This seems to be the easiest coin for us bards to find. The bloodgills are always camped, and drop the coins pretty frequently. Being a bard (with the tambourine the coin is used to get) I have out these things for free (unless some dern TWINK wants it, then I sell for as high as I can!) For a real (ie un-twinked) bard, maybe 25pp if you feel you have to sell it.
By the time a bard comes along for the damn coin it would nigh impossible to tell if they are twinked as many items are obtainable by this level. so dont be a jerk if a bard needs it for the tambourine and you can give then do so...jeeeeez
I conned several of these guys, and at level 53 some of them were still blue... most were not. Even so, whenever running through the lake, I stop and kill all of the blue ones that are up... usually 2-4 goblins. They are just great XP.
Usually one Ebolt will finish them. Occassionally ebolt will drop with a sliver of health left on the bloodgill.
OK I killed these for about 7 lvl's with my wizzie. From 44 to 51. At 51 only about 1 in 3 is still blue, but solo some greens still give xp.
On the subject of XP they are awsome. In lvl 51 I still made about a bub every hour and a half. Prior to that a bub an hour is about right. They are very easy to kill for casters due to there low HP.
One Icecomet and they are running and can be finished of for about 300hp nuke. THus I would say their HP are about 1400. For melee types they do hit pretty hard, and thus they are a much easier camp for casters.
My tactic was always to pull with proc of staff or temporate flux, alowing only one to be pulled from each pair. Then head for the submerged platform in the north east part of the spawn area which allows you to fight on land. (Lev and SOW are good for this as then you can surface and run on the water thus avoiding getting hit, they swim pretty fast but with swim above about 150 you can just stay ahead of em). On reaching the platform root the mob in place. Icecomet and its running then finish off with a lower lvl nuke for about 300 dam.
This is a very fast and safe way to lvl, only problem is that its boring as solo gets lonely after a while. Good new is if you get bored you can always head to dread for a bit of grouping )
Ok, first of all there are 10 spawns. 4 pairs around the pillars, and and another pair to gaurd the entrance. dont bother with the 2 gaurds, simply go to the first 2 you want to kill, single pull one(requires a ranger, druid, or enchanter to single pull them) and kill it. then kill the other. to get to the next two, follow the hill of dirt on your right around. all 4 pairs are based around this hill. I could solo these as a lvl 45 ranger, but only keep 2 of the spawns. But when me and my 45 cleric friend hunted them together, we killed non stop with no down time whatsoever and made 1 blue buble each 30mins. remember this is in the worst hell lvl b4 your uber 51+. So basically we made just as good exp on a normal lvl in hell. Loot was up to 5p, the ancient coin, bloodgill scales, research items(runes, pages...), a few gems including the black pearl, and the incredibly rare harpoon of the depths.
