Bard AE Kiting

Just want to clarify a couple of things here, since i wished someone would have done this for me.

First I strongly suggest the sow potion, it is a great idea, this will run you roughly 60-120pp depending on server, but will eliminate the need to twist songs and will alow you to concentrate on your circles more, (this will be a highly needed skill as you get higher if you want to continue to solo kite)

Second this is going to be a guide / list of what i did, and what i have shown several bards on the stromm server and all have enjoyed this.

So to start this you need sow, regardless of how you get it, always refresh just before you pull so you are certain it will not wear out before the kite is done.

****WARNING spiroc Proven backstab for 220-380hps

OK to start this one i did this....

First equip your flute and sing invis, then run up to the top of the aviary. Now at the top stand on the ramp and face the building entrance. Now fire up Levitate, as soon as the spiroc charges you from inside the building, turn and run all the way around the building at the top to arg the ones on the platforms and in the building, once you make it back to your ramp that you came up, head back down this will pull all of the chickens in the aviary. When you hit land run around the aviary till you see the sea, now out in the ocean there is a bird house up on a pillar, run towards it (lev is still going) and when you get close target the single chicken in the coop and hit him once with chant of flame, then switch back to lev and head back to dry land. now run toward the mountain and head halfway up it, from there run like you were headed to the raft, as you pass the birdcage on a post stop and chant it too, now fire up heal song ( stops hurting the chicken so they all drop at same time and heals what little damage you have taken) and head to level part on beach near aviary where you can run in circles. Now you have all of the spirocs that you want in your train, find a semi level area and hit numlock and F9 four times quickly, this will keep you runnin and switch to an above / behind view, (so you can see the circles you run in.)Now fire up Denon's Disruptive Discord (with brass equiped) and run in circles. When only the last spiroc is standing he will try to run, chain him and dot to death. Wait for repop and rinse and repeat. The Spirocs will take you up to level 47 or 52 before tooo many of them start turning Light Blue, then it is time to go to Raptors which will get you to 60 with patience.

Now for some helpfull hints i have picked up and will share with you.

1. create a macro as follows
Line 1= /stopsong
Line 2= /pause 25, /cast 1 (one being heal )
Line 3= /stopsong
Line 4= /pause 25, /cast 2 (two being DDD)
2. place this macro on hotkey
3. now if you ever get hit, just hit this key several times and you no longer have to twist, the macro does it for ya, and you are back to full health.

Next For those of you just learning to AE kite, or that have never tried cougars i STRONGLY reccomend only pullin 2-4 spirocs your first couple times till you get the handle on things.

I hope this helps fellow bards, if you ever need assistance my game name is TAIISIEN on the Stromm server, just send a tell.

Yes i think you read the title correctly, as soon as you have killed enough of them you will be kos to them, I have found that you can quite easily start at the bottom and run all the way up collecting ALL the spirocs' (about 18-25 of them all together).. Don't bother with 'Bonds of Force', just make sure you at least have either your JBoots, SOW potions or a SOW caster nearby, run round the edge of the island and just keep constantly casting 'Circle of Force', these things are weak, and at 43 at the time I was getting about 25% experience per pull, (does take about 30 mins to kill them all, and because you need to wait till they are out of range from you, by the time you have ran far enough away from them to cast again, you have just made your mana back.

and........ after all that you will find you have about 2% mana left so go sit down and laugh your *** off at the easiest XP you ever made.

Witnesses at this act of what seems like stupidity has been witnessed in awe by lvl 60 characters.

BTW i wouldnt recommend ANY other class other than wizards doing this, or wizards with any less than 255 INT and KEI..

Here is how a bard does these little goonies.

I usually run up the ramp aggroing as many as I can, then when I have gotten as high as I can go, I use my lev song and jump off the edge and float down tot he ground. I usually pull about 10 or so spirocs. I take the lev off then play selos and run in a circle to get them into one good bunch. I use solon's bewithching bravura to charm one, and send it after the others. Ideally, the group should be pounding on the pet while I stand aside and wait for my pet's health to drop to a little over 20%, then equip the flute and play shauri's sonorous clouding (invis) to break the charm. Once the charm is broken I run in circles, chant kiting my former pet until it is dead, and then charm another and repeat the steps until they are all dead. I have used this method in different zones, and have swarmed up to 25 MOBs at the same time. Usually around 2% per kill. I have seen up to 6p drop off of these. The last MOB usually warps to it's spawn point when below 20%. I try ti snare it then keep the snare song playing while I work on my melee skills killing it.

Some stats

Lightfoots are a Warrior class (they bash), and have just under 2k hp (measured one at 1940). All spirocs run reasonably slowly, average to below-average magic resistance, and very small "social" or "assist" ranges.

Lightfoots can drop up to 5pp 12gp 12sp 12cp, drop Spiroc Bone dust (very roughly 1 in 4 times) which is used for high level rogue poison, and appropriate level research items.
Quadding Spirocs

Hello all...

Just a quick post to give you an idea on how quadding these works. Ive been quadding them now for then grand total of one day :) so i am by no means an expert, but hopefully what i have learnt will help some of you.
I am currently a level 46 druid with 220 wis and about 120 pts worth of mana on items and these little babies take all my mana (try and get a kei. makes a big difference)
If i can i will try to pull lightfoots only as they have the least hp (all are dark blue btw at lvl 46 inc watchers and proven) however it is almost impossible to chose what u pull as they agro a lot from hidden places.
U can pull them from above if they are high up you do not have to run up the ramps each time so just stand under them, look up, and pull with ensnare.
If you want to intentionally pull a proven pull with Drifting death and then ensnare it a few seconds later. this will bring its hp kinda in line with the lightfoots. If there are any watchers in your quad you will find they are the last standing assuming u pulled proven with Drifting death. You will probably be oom or lom by this point so just drop a drones of doom on them to finish them off.
Easiest place to quad them i find is along the water. You get no adds here.
Most loot ive ever had off them is 6pp but on average id say about 2pp. They are great xp and i find im getting about 1.2 blue a quad.
Hope this helps.

These little birds can backstab.

Then again, I use this against their brethren. I charm one of them, force them to attack another then fear the second one. My new "pet" makes quick work of his prey.

You are correct there...I was rooting/DOTing one of these cockatoos while running across the island. Since casting these spells don't require facing the target, I kept my back to it most of the time until it broke a root and double backstabbed me for 200 pts a whack. LOADING PLEASE WAIT...

I found spiroc bone dust on these guys quite alot. The provens and warriors hardly have any of the dust but these lightfoots carry them at about an uncommon rate.
