He is a bad con. I'm lvl 31 and am still getting a fair amount of xp from him. He takes about 1200 pnts of dmg before he drops. I figured this by averaging the 8 times I soloed him one morning.

I don't know what Ienymar is talking about, but at 23rd level he still occasioanally takes 1/2 damage or less from Careless Lightnings. His magic resistance might be low for his level, but it's far from PATHETIC......be warned, just because you think you have enough mana to nuke this guy to death at 20th or 21st, doesn't mean it's going to work everytime. It might work once or twice, but I can tell you from camping him for 10 straight hours, he will resist you often enough. Sometimes 3 different times in one battle.

i have to agree here -- im a 23rd shammy and he is even -- shouldnt resist much BUT even when i Malise him him which drops MR and other stats -- he has been known to resist once or twice so be careful

I am a lv 18 Enchantress i was grouped with lv 21 monk, and lv 23 magician.we killed Broon about 15 times...mostly they killed him. What i want o say is of all my spells the only ones that stick to him was after 4 or 5 casts of Tashani was choke wich was doing minimal damage sometimes 4 ,7damg after more tashani it was doing 18 damg, and he was chaising me but with sow and others hiting him from behind he goes down easy.Even after all tashan casted on him my DD spell got resisted everytime, out of 10 times i casted melee debuff only sticked to him once.only Dot and Tashani worked so if do not have tanks and clerics below 20 lv may want to stay clear of him.The loot is terible i got 1pp one time but the rest only gold and silver, rusty weapons. They both leveled on him and i made about 2 yellow bubs and about 4 blue.So i think he gives good exp,i do not remember what faction we got so i'll have go again and see.He killed me once so i liked the idea of having something to do with his death.

Um, just fyi, Tashan does not stack with itself... like if you cast it on a mob 50 times, the mob is still going to have 1 tashan's worth of MR reduction.

I mean really... if it were cumulative, it would be rediculously heinous. It's a strong enough weapon as is.

However, as you discovered, Tashan does cause a -lot- of agro for the money; so casting it repeatedly like that might have been intelligent sheerly for the purpose of forcing mister Broon into chasing you, and giving your melee free hits.

Just curious... does Broon drop any interesting meats?

Drop: Cyclops toes
# May 07 2000 at 1:50 PM Rating: Decent
Broon drops cyclops toes, used in magician focus item quest(air-pet). Easy and cheap way to get toes. Today he dropped 2 toes in 5 kills.
Btw he spawns near HH pass zone (ramp)and walks to the water just north of bridge to N karana.
Hmmm...

Maybe a mage could take on broon at level 20. All he has to do is DD shield, nuke, nuke, heal, nuke nuke, heal, oom, tank 4 pet. Broon go bye bye. hehe
I agree with Audubon.

Solo'd Broon as a 21 druid fairly easy. Charmed blue griffawn....and sicked him on the ugly thing. Was fairly easy....didn't even lose pet. What i want to know is does he drop anything worth keeping?? G'luck everyone.
Druids should be ashamed!
# Mar 21 2000 at 7:01 PM Rating: Good
If your a druid you can easilly solo him from 21 up...at 24 it's not even work.

Grab griff and sick it on him (be warned that the lowest griffs will not attack him) then swarm him and med...then when swarm wears off recast it and med again. As soon as your pet dies...snare broon and lightning him until dead. At 24 start using crud and he is a piece of cake. You'll finish him with full life and down maybe a bubble of mana.

I agree it would be a piece of cake at 24 for a druid, but I dont think trying to charm a griffin at that level is very smart. If the charm even lasts long enough to attack broon it wont last long enough to kill him then you have both the griffin on you as well as broon and I doubt at that level you can solo a griffin as well as broon.

hehe i think he meant "grifFAWN" actually im sure of it... druid are the easiest to solo with espesially in the karana's and oasis get a pet about 2-3 lv's lower than the monster you wanna kill your charm can last the whole fight if not thorns are always good :0)
Broon

I took him in group of levels 18 20 and 21. He took out our first tank rite before we killed him. He only dropped 4 gp and a Rusty Long Sword. Droon spawned after he died and everyone had to zone.
No Subject

His magic resistance is PATHETIC, and i mean REALLY PATHETIC, i kited him at 21 fairly easily, mana got low but he rearly took less then 100percent dmg from careless lightning

He definately is an under-con. He cons formidable blue to my 26th lvl druid. I did manage to solo him, but I had to snare/kite about halfway into the fight because he was hitting quite hard.. not too often but when he connected, he CONNECTED for 48pts.
Hard than he cons
# Mar 01 2000 at 11:00 AM Rating: Decent
I'm a 24th level paladin, and he cons blue to me. He hits HARD, so don't be fooled. I wouldn't take this guy on solo until at least 29th level, and then with an escape route planned.

He hit me for 40 max.
Weak for a low 20s.

I attacked broon with my fresh to lvl 24 ranger (so he had maxed out lvl 23 skills) and fought broon down to the last 3 hairs of his health before I lost this battle. there was health space then the B for broon that is how close he was to dieing in a fight that close it could have gone either way but I lost and went back to 23 I got a bug up my butt and decided to go after the blue conning broon almost got him now that I'm 25 and have a enough exp in to the lvl that I can die and not loose my lvl I am going to have to go back for him. so the point of this was to say that if a lvl 24 ranger can almost do it any lvl 24 should be able to because we all know rangers can dish damage but cant take it
