undercon, maybe
# Jul 28 2004 at 2:06 AM Rating: Decent
56 ranger. running outta FV, just bought my lvl 56 spells... saw the leech and it was just so ugly i couldn't resist killin' it.

anyway... if its only lvl 35... i'd say undercon... it took me down to 88% before it died... i was sorta impressed, but dissapointed that for such a huge, butt-ugly mob... it didn't drop anything. =(
Cute little suckers

Hehee it seems FV mobs don't like Half elfs for breakfast! Somehow I managed to corpse run through FV for 11 levels (yeah yeah stayed too long in LOIO) and not get a scratch from drachies, leeches, and the like. When peeps say low aggro range they do mean low aggro range. I've run past them numerous times and gotten close enough that the dist. between was equal to the dist. I can throw and Ogre (I mentioned I was a half elf right?) Anyhoo just my stupid stories again...

Tough little suckers.....Not sure if its my bad luck or what but I have been soloing these, Froggies, and big Dogs (Dvorlag) (sp?.....me a 37 Shaman.
These things DO NOT like to be diseased...resisted 4 times I finally just kept him slowed and bludgeoned it to death with Hammer with my puppy nipping at his heels (if he they have any)
Needless to say I had about 150HP's left out 950+....but he died. Anyone using poison or disease should debuff them first then cast poison/disease. Save yourself some downtime.
Ouch, quit it, that tickles...

Was camo'ed and sow'd and coming from FV. Overshot the end of the bridge and ran up the hill where an Iskar weilding a wurmslayer was fighting one of these. Was like whoa, now if that isn't a totally cool mob, gotta watch this for a moment before heading to FV.

DUMB move... (remember, I was camo'ed) because all of a sudden BAM, hit for some large double digit amount, stunned, hit hit, stun, hit... One of these big fat silver worms humping fast after me. Had already knocked me down to about half hp but thank Karana I had sow on at the time.

I manage to break away and run towards guards thinking, oh, they'll save me, right?

Wrongo - they just stand there counting grains of sand or something as I bolt by and run around the bridge towards FV, /yell, /yell, /yell (phew - gotta love hotkeys). Did I mention these suckers are fast? Plus they kept breaking my root and resisting my snare. (I was about lvl 26-27 at the time; I'm a ranger).

/shouted a warning out that this thing was heading for town and ran around town, past bank (yeah idiotic I know but the Big Boat was docked so I was vaguely under the stupid thought that I could make it to the boat and escape this thing) ... no guards or pilgrims attacking this thing, me worried as heck that I was going to die because I was still bound in OT or FM.

Somebody /shouted: "Holy Tunare, what IS that thing?"

Luckily, there was a lvl 55 mage over by the bank, and she nuked its guts out... just in time to see another one of these big silver worms come loping into town, which she also dispatched. /em phew!

On the bright side ... just after this lovely incident, I spent a lot of time in LIO killing the gobs close to Cabilis in order to build dual faction in both Cab and FV (yes, I do intend to strut my human butt around Cab one of these days), and so I could do the Faydark armor quest. On my run back to FV, backpacks stuffed full of lil' red headbands and other items to quest/sell, my camo dies right in the middle of the spider field. /em eep!

Of course it took like 2 nanoseconds for the spiders to jump on me... 2 bubbles of HP down in seconds, I ran like mad towards FV, so at least I'd die near the bridge and not have to worry about looting my corpse while being attacked, with a /shout of warning. Managed to get in a /con of the guards while I was at it, amazed that I was "amiable," and wondered briefly if the guards would assist now that I was amiable. To my shock, as the spideys came madly after me, the guards DID attack!

I'm not quite willing to sacrifice my hide to test if they'll do the same with the worms, but it IS possible to get the guards to help you if you get your faction up enough.

ROFL all you want but anyone can in fact be bound in the OT , in OT all you need to do is sneak around the seawall and bind them just inside of the outpost on the beach. and if memory serves me correctly there is a set of ruins in FM where people can be bound.
Big Leech

They have a small aggro range but are very tenacious. I only ever fought one, and it broke root so often I said to hell with it and went toe to toe with it. It hit hard, but in the end I turned it to paste. Btw, the FV guards will just stand by and watch you get womped on, so dont bother heading for the bridge.
Frenzied Leeches

These things are nasty! The guards will not Help you kill them. You have to zone to clear the agro. I died and he came back after me to kill me again! (I was bound I FV)

By the way there is good evidence these guys regen faster then normal mobs, I been kite/burning these and pirates they are about the same level as each other but the frenzied does seem to regen faster then the pirate or the occasional drolvargs the pilgrim/drixie guards let me have.
and btw these are social mobs if your near the ruins there are quite a few of these and the lamprey running around .. sunbeam it there and you better no the way to lake of ill omen or swamp of no hope zones.. I had 7 of these guys after me at one point... RUN..and GATE.. better part of valor so they say, to live and fight another day.

Recently a Cleric friend of mine blasted one while rooted for about 1100 hp's over 5 or 6 shots.
Small Aggro range
# May 17 2000 at 9:10 AM Rating: Decent
As Fallon said, the guards do not attack these creatures. I did, however, see a Drixie fighting one. You have to be fairly close before the will attack you, even though they say "ready to attack" They were consistently hitting me for 54 points of damage (but I don't have a high AC either)

I have to agree that the aggro range is quite small. You almost have to walk on it's head to get it to aggro. This is good to know if you are just trying to get through unscathed.

Heh...you have to walk on it's head or have it fall on yours. One spawned on me in...get this...the middle of the FV outpost, of all the stupidest places. And of course, since the guards don't help you....well, you can imagine what happened.

Stupid game bugs.

No, they don't. I was at the bank in FV with a huge group when suddenly someone pulled up with one in tow. We just watched in amazement as we had never seen one before. And the FV residents and guards watched with us lol.

Ditto. I was enjoying a little swim inside the breakwater near the main bridge and got jumped. Ran to the guard and he picked his nose while I got smashed.
Animal?

Wow had no idea they counted as animal. I have sunbeamed many, just watch out if you accidentally hit a pilgrim, they don't like the sun or something...

Ensnare is great though :)
Easy solo kill for Druids
# Apr 28 2000 at 3:38 PM Rating: Good
Try this. Ensnare (lasts longer), Terrorize Animal, DOT. Then recast as necessary. You can med while the leech is running away. At lvl 34, 12 or so kills = 1 bub exp.
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 28 2000 at 3:40 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) lol what isnt an easy kill for druids solo, u guys can kite 3 or 4 things at once. Wish there were less stuck ups among you though, once a druid decided to charge me 10pp for a sow!! after he cast it, when i explained that Im Cr'ing he started calling me a thief =/
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 12 2000 at 11:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You'll find idiots in every class/race combo. The thing about druids is that we have some great spells that people really rely on (port, sow) so we have alot of contact with other players - which means that our idiots get alot more exposure. I know warriors that are complete bozo's - but they can't port, so nobody is really sending them tells unless they need a tank. Trust me - I talk to sooo many people. I walk into a zone and almost invariably, I'm begged for port or sow immediately. People send tells even if they're halfway across the zone from me - I'm not complaining, after all it is very profitable to port people at times. It can also be time consuming though - and people can hound you to death if you're in a zone to level and you don't want to port. The benefits of Druidism are massive, though - and I can understand the occasional bad press that our class gets. I mean, HECK - even low level druids can ride me about sowing them or porting them for free to "help a brother out".

It does get bothersome, honest. And the Kite thing isn't as easy as some non-Druids may think. First of all, druids for the most part are made of wet paper bags. At 30, with full buffs, I have a bit over 700 hp's. My RL partner has a 15 warrior with NO buffs and hp's at 500. Needless to say, at 30, I rarely solo. Even blue conn'd stuff resists Ensare often enough to rip through me like a handful of tissue in a cuissanart (sp?). And I agree that being hounded to death is the bane of a Druid's existance.

Now, for the record...on the initial post of this string, what does "CR'ing" mean?

Corpse Recovering lol
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 25 2001 at 10:24 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Corpse recovering? I thought it was corpse running....
#Anonymous, Posted: Nov 12 2000 at 4:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Finally, someone's got it right..... (BTW, I personally think that its easier to solo w/ a necro anyway.... and I play both classes)
