Here is some info on the BW version of these MOBs.

Forest giant fort in BW. 2 at the front ramp, can be any type, arbor, ancient, and sometimes the named. Inside are about 6 giants, also can be any including the named. Pathing is a bit odd when trying to pull out of the fort itself if you are trying to swarm kite, so it is best not to try to kite around the berm outside the fort until you get them into a group..The best way I have found is to make smaller circles in front of the ramp to get them all together. Pulling singles is very easy, if you have taken out the ramp spawns, run up and tag one of the giants near the front, and you will not get aggro from the others unless your "friend" runs by one, but I never saw that happen when I was there. The front part of the berm area near the ramp can be tricky because there are quite a few wanderers there, such as the various sarnaks and tatterback apes, so it is best to take your pull around near the back of the fort because it is relatively clear there. All the wanderers I saw were a good distance away so it is pretty safe there. Drops were pretty decent, in fact, I had to destroy quite a few of the vendor fodder weapons like the weighted axe and axe of the ironback because I hade 3 backpacks full of gems or various type, a treeweave, and giant lord's tunic. The giants drop anywhere from 7g to about 5p per. After selling and converting the coinage to platinum, I ended up with about 450p or so for my troubles, but I did keep the treeweave to sell later, so probably around 800p all told. The giants gave around 1% per kill, and the named gave me about 2%
at level 51. Excellent place to hunt, I recommend it highly.

Last night me(45 SK) and my partner(46 Shaman) went to Fv to check out this camp of 3 bald Kromdudes. I single pulled each one with Flight arrows and we pummeled them easily. Occasionally they aggroed and I had to FD to keep them seperated.(Drink your Milk!)In about 3 hours they dropped 1 Forest Loop, 2 Giant Lord Tunics, 1 Lumberjack Cap, multiple Words and Runes but no weapons. The Shin Warriors that hopped on by dropped Two-Handed Fine Steel Swords and the Drolvarg Leglifters had Splintered Cloaks. Not bad for 3 hours, and I didn't see one Cheetah-Speed Ranger chasin' down his charmed moustache shouting "Beware Evildoers! For my facial hair will be avenged!"

Had an arbor drop it. First one I've seen and I've been hunting them for almost four levels now. Anybody know what it's for?

Treeweaves, don't count on it
# Oct 08 2000 at 5:45 PM Rating: Decent
All giants from Kunark have the chance to drop a treeweave. However, only Gorgul Paclock in BW drops it at any countable rate. MG Patriarchs CAN drop em, much less common. I have been killing kunark giants since lvl 20, starting in WW, then FM, and FV at least 150 (guess-temation) giants in all. I have seen MAYBE 7-8 loops drop in that time, no Tree weaves though. Pretty much, if you want a loop, buy it. If you want a tree weave, kill Gorgul Paclock.

I would have to say you are wrong. Any gian cannot drop the tree weave. I have never with many charactors hunting in FM EVER even heard of one droping there. I would say giants in BW can drop them and MAYBE (notice big) drop in DL.

Only one Giant I am aware of drops Treeweave...that's Gorluck Padlock (sp?) in Burning Woods. All Kunark Giants have a chance to drop a Forest Loop but not Treeweave, that I am aware of.

Soloing the Giants

If you want easy soloing the giant that spawns on the north side of the camp in FV can be pulled without aggroing the others.

We had a broup there for about an hour or so. In that time, here is what dropped: (1)Axe of the Ironback; (2) Weighted Axes; (2) Hammers of Flattening; (1) Lumberjack Cap; (1) Giant foreman's tunic. The spawn rate is FAST. It will keep you busy. And the exp was very good. At level 40 (hell) I got at least half a bub in an hour.
Forest loops and treeweaves

But as i look at all the comments on the rarity of Giant loot, i have yet to see ANYONE mention treeweaves or forest loops. These are 2 kick *** items, i am surprised no one has mentioned them. treeweave is like 25 ac, Druid wearable (and other classes, but druids getting 25 ac kicks ***) and the forest loop is 2 ac, +3 dex, agi, wis, wearable by all bu Pure casters.

I would just like to say that the forest loop previously mentioned CAN be worn by pure casters. I am a lvl 27 iksar necromancer who recently looted one off of a forest giant greenwood while soloing greenwoods and the easier evergreens in warsliks woods. Until I sell it I will wear it, hehe. I really do envy you guys who can kill these giants though, because i'm sure that if the forest loops do drop off these guys they are more common then off of the easier giants in warsliks...although I may be wrong.

The loot dropped by the Ones in Firiona Vie was heavy. We would get a rare item about 2 outta 5 kills. I got 3 giant tunics 2 weighted axes and an Axe of the Iron back in only an hour.
My group had the exact opposite with the

Lear is dead on with the loot these things drop...it's sparce. My group was enjoying the exp though. The group included 41 warrior, 40 Wizard, 36 cleric, 30 ranger, and 30 rogue. All of the non-hell bound folks were pulling nearly a bar of exp an hour out of this camp. I know I like it and will be going back tonight. The camp is broken easily and the giants die quickly.

Forest Giant Arbors
# Apr 28 2000 at 9:36 AM Rating: Decent
I was in a hunting party of 6 last night. The camp of 3 FGs is easy to break (run along the east zone border, you can't miss it). We mustuv killed about 50 of them. They spawn quickly. So fast, in fact, w/ Clarity & Mana song going, we couldn't keep up after 20 or so kills and had to re-break the spawn. About 5min spawn time. Over 1khp. And out of those 50, only one of these beasts dropped Coin (9g & change), and it con'd Yellow to my 40th Bard. We had about 4 Axe's of the Iron Back drop (2hs 16/37) and one of those Hats, 10ac +3sta. Seems, though, we were getting very little xp for them. Maybe we were just too powerful a group. PS - watch out for those Drov's :)
