Varsoon the Undying  

I don't play much, so I've been a Level 11 Human Monk for about 3 weeks. But back when I was about level 7, I was just coming out of Black Burrow. I was at about half health because someone trained some Gnoll Guards and I got caught in it. I zoned ASAP. I'm just walking out of the cave when a Wood Elf comes running from the direction the Ruins are in, with a crap load of Skeletons (Decaying, Regular, and Putrid. Or so they looked. There weren't dread corpses there). He was about twenty feet away from me when he ran past, so like 3 putrids and a regular skeleton trained on me. I almost got killed because I didn't have much HP at the start. This other half elf who wasn't at full HP helped me, and then another Monk stuck around to kill a putrid for the rib bone, and watch.

After the fight we all kinda sat around and talked for a bit. Now, I had never heard of Varsoon then, and then out of the corner of my screen, I see the other monk drop dead. I start to stand up when the half elf gets up too, turns, and gets dropped. Just as I'm about to fight (although I had no chance), Varsoon's pet nails me from behind for about 24 damage, and then bashes me, which stuns me. Varsoon then proceeds to kill me with one hit.

After I respawned, right outside North Qeynos Gates, I told the half elf that the whole incident there really sucked. I started back to my corpse. Big mistake, because as soon as I zoned into the Hills, Varsoon with pet was waiting. You know the little recoil you get when you get hit? If not for that, I would have died a second time. Varsoon smacked the spit outta my mouth, which sent me back in North Qeynos. I zone back away from the path, and find out Varsoon got killed by the guards. I come back to Black Burrow, and find my corpse, along with about 6 or 7 other people's corpses. Varsoon had a grand old time.

I've never run into the living version of Varsoon, only the zombie. The next time I ran into this guy was when I hit 9 and was leaving Black Burrow again. Someone shouted that Varsoon was dead, so since I had only seen Varsoon's Undead form, I decided to go to the ruins to kill Skeletons. Well, that guy didn't know about the Undead version. So I'm heading to the ruins, and I come face to face with the ugly thing. So I ran myself away and shouted that Varsoon isn't dead. So then I got into an argument with the guy. And told him that I just saw Varsoon staring me down. I stop for a bit, since Varsoon didn't chase me, and when I go to look back, I get rooted by him, and then he nails me from behind and drops me. So that sucked. But the same guy who killed his Living form killed the Undead form.

The next time I found Varsoon, was when I was hanging with my friend who was camping Pyzjin. He ran out of supplies so he went back to Qeynos to go get some. He told me to stay there and make sure no one camps the ruins. So I'm sitting there, and my friend had been gone a while. Next thing I know Varsoon spawns, and starts beating me. I started running, getting bashed and beaten. For once he didn't root me, and his pet didn't bash me. So then I'm almost to the campfire near Surefall, and then I see the line "Genadiel hits Varsoon the Undying for 30 damage". I turn around to see my buddy kicking the hell out of Varsoon. He tells me to go and run, and that he can handle it from there. I start heading back to the ruins, when the pet (who I forgot about) kills me.

Bottom line, I really hate this guy and his pet.

im a 24 cleric on povar and i was collecting pelts for my tailorign and varsoon (the zombie one) poped and sum one yelled i wennt over to see he conned yellow but probly a lot high i disided that i would pull him off them and divine arua and goto zone i got him to about 1/3 health wiht undead dds and then i had one bub of health left i divine ran till it ran out and gated to nq he was the hardest yellow i ever fought~

Varsoon the undying spawned and started making havoc and i did a little test. I went camouflaged and went right up to his face(thank goodness it didnt wear out or i would be a dead lv 15 ranger). He cannot see invisible. He ended up being killed by Marton Sayer.

I was by the crossroads and i got attacked by Varsoon Luckily Nash was there and wasted him.

Well if it helps any I killed the guy fairly fast with my 44th necro (pet hits like mad 47s I love it) fear is your best friend so is FD.

fakk. just read the halloween and the friday the 13th coincidence. Tonight was the 13th and friday. fakk fakk double fakk!

I don't know his level, since he was green to me at 51, but the undying form (which spawned after necro form died) took my to 2.5 bubs health in no time, and cast one of those roots that snare you quite successfully (it still overwrote my sow, too); luckily, he switched to trying to melee me, and two starfires took him out.

i was camping the millers one day, when varsoon popped and a druid who was camping the GBS asked for help. i killed varsoon easily, i mezzed his pet nuked him, then mezzed him and repeated it. it wasnt too hard, but i waited and got full mana and i had a druid friend who was coming to visit me, so i pulled him to the guard tower and my friend came, varsoon the undying attacked the wizzie NPC neclo ressar(not sure of how to spell his name) and the monk konem matse(not sure of how to spell his name either). varsoon the undying wasted his mana and then the monk and him started fighting, i helped the monk, because i wanted to kill varsoon the undying, but the monk got the last hit =(. guards didnt help at all, and they werent attacked by the undying form. just thought this might help some people who get attacked by him and want to try to kill him.

In my mid-twenties, I visited Qeynos Hills and saw Varsoon and his pet walking around, presumably toward the ruins (red con). A little while later, there's a zone message with Varsoon spouting off about how we have unleashed some kind of great power/evil/whatever. A little while later still, Varsoon the Undying (blue con) did a little fear kiting . . . I was the kite. I died.

I do believe there is a quest involving these rare necros. Varsoon and Varsoon the Undying have ties with the Bertox Necros. Pyzjn is a gnome necro and gnome necros worship Bertox. Pyzjn drops the coveted GBS which is identified as Varsoons Black Heart. I believe there is a hidden connection and probably a way to trigger these spawns. I believe some know how to do this but will not share their secret since it yields a very profitable item.

The first day I played in the Hills, this ugly zombie ******* poped up outa no where(but I can't see how because everything comes from something)this guy used fear on me, but it was a waste of his mana to use on a lv. 5. That ******* then hit me twice for 80+!!!!
