Previously i read a lvl 19 ranger got himself beat down the newb king. my dwarf warrior beat him down at 16. One thing to keep in mind is buff yourself before the fight and dont try to cast to many spells unless its to root or snare or anything to attack or affect the target. The king casts as well so dont try to run a little to heal yourself.

Killed him alone (using my slow, dots, and melee), although I was down in health quite a bit.

He almost killed My 12 Erudite Mage, and my partners 11 Dwarf Warrior. Didnt Drop Squat that I remember. Good X.

You are a big spooty liar if you say you took on the king at lvl 8. I saw 5 lvl 8 dwarves attack the king and got their butts kicked into next tuesday

My party took on the undead king at level 9-10. A paladin , warrior, druid and ranger. Took him out like nothing, didn't even give him a chance to cast much of anything. He dropped nothing. Is it possible he spawns at different levels. We camped the board just for the king and was very dissapointed in the fight he gave.

I went in with 4 other ppl lvls-11 to 14 and it was hard as hell, even though we had a paladin with heal touch. He really takes a lot to go down. Don't take him without two ppl with healing capabilites and/or big *** buffs. Watch out, he is a badass.

Okay, I've fought him once, and watched others fight them as well. I've NEVER seen him use harm touch; only Wizard spells. At the time I fought him I was a 12 Cleric, and he was yellow to me. I was buffed to ALL hell by a shaman, and he still kicked my ***. If ANYONE thinks that they solo'ed this thing at 8, without more than two heals and some kind of divine intervention, then someone must have slipped something into their coffee that day. Sorry, man. Clerics are given the BEST anti-undead spells, and at 12, with massive Shaman buffs (And I mean lvl 20+ Shaman buffs), when he conned yellow he still WHOOPED THE **** OUT OF ME!!!!!

I was a lvl 19 ranger. Fought this guy at 3/4 health. By the time i got him down to half life he had me down 2 50hp. He kicked the liveing %^&$ outta me.

hi all...i am mago 14 and just killed the king...not too hard, died once only, lack of strategy....the loot was a bit surprising: word of eradication...what to do with it?
salut tout le monde: le king est pas vraiment dur, sauf qu'il appelle souvent un pawn pour l'aider, et ça, c'est moins drôle, alors tuez tous les pawns avant de l'attaquer...le loot, c'est: word of eradication, mais ça peut changer à chaque fois...bonne chance

Let me correct some people...this guy doesn't have Harm Touch, because he is NOT a SK, he's a wizard. He is about lvl 15-18 and he casts Shock of Lightning during combat. I was camping chessboard today with a small group of 10-12 people (I'm 11) when the king appeared. We decided not to try it, and I watched a lvl 18 Cleric solo it pretty easily. If anyone doubts that he's a wizard, I have a screenshot of him casting the Shock on a guy in my party :).

He conned Yellow to at 14 with my Shaman Barbarian. I was Buffed all the way. I had all kind of protection on (skin like Diamand, clarity to keep my mana up) my agility was above 100. and he almost kicked the living out of me. I had to run (i outran him because i was sowed) and them i gated. this was the only way to stay a live.So, I don't believe anyone that who tells he that he soloed this guy at level 11 and below and kicked his ***. it is just impossible.
The one time i killed was with my 15 warrior(tank) , still conned yellow, that was buffed all the way to hell. At time i killed, but i was down to almost a bubble.

You SOLOED him at 8? What kind of a monster are you? At level 14 he still cons yellow to me. I doubt 2 Lay Hands would be enough to solo him at 8... two heals would just delay your death another second or so. Are you reading the posts at all? Harm Touch for 200 damage. That can't be far away from the amount of hitpoints you have at level 8 :).
Maybe you can't read the difference between pawn and king...

I SOLO'ed him at LVL 18 and he brought me down 2 bubbles... and it was a quick i mean real quick fight! and I am thinking that one of my bubbles equals your whole life at lvl 8

I followed your advises and I created a new character: a Barbarian Warrior (who can take hit/heat better than this one.) Leveled him to 8 and got my guild( mostly Shaman friends of lvl 45 and plus) to buff me all the way to HELL. I went to the chessboard, waited for him, took him in solo, and I asked my friends to heal twice as you stated (light healing) and HE kicked the living/hell/crap out of me. Thus, you are just A BIG FAT LIAR AND STOP THAT. You are the kind of person that are harming this game and misleading newbies like that.

I am a lvl 9 worrior. The other day 3 worriors went after him. Me and another were killed and the third was healed and buffed by a "passing " cleric lvl 30ish. He finally did him in. What class and race can kill hin at lvl 8.

You are a lying fool. You have maybe 350 HPs at level 8. First you get HTed for 200 then he will hit you for 30 a pop. Besides the fact if someone was healing you then you werent soloing were you? LOL. Ummm... I soloed an SG and only needed all the level 49 shaman buffs, 49 druid dmg shield, and constant Complete Heals. I was level 10! WHat a fool you are....

I'm terribly sorry, but a cleric of the same lvl would buff the fjzuck out of him even more so than Shamans, Chanters, etc..

Hehe, the top guy is full of it, Im a level 16 Wizzie, and I can kill him but sometimes i get really unlucky and he kicks my ***. He can root and cast shock of lighting, totally evil guy. I doubt a level 8 can beat him with all the buffs in the world.

hi well i killed this guy a long tiem ago on my first cahr i believe i was 15 war i thought it was a pawn and went at it i wasnt twinked ... i just remember he missed a lot and i was happy i dont think he drops anything special he is 14 cant be anything good k your level 8 u die fast and your full of crap you prob already knew that =)

I am a lvl 21 paladin I camped this guy at lvl 21 he was green but he gave me xp I have a friend lvl 19 we where bored an went over to the board she had ever been here well there where alot of newbe's around and we let them know what we where hunting anyway we sat there healing and buffing newbes for about 2 hours then I seen a king and told her it was at the 2 spawns at the tree I ran over and started killing it useing ward undead and yelp the hole time my friend went down fast but I used my Lay On Hands on her and when I turned to us it on her there was ANOTHER king so we where there killing 2 kings and not even knowing it I killed my really fast and helped her kill hers anyway 2 kings at the same time was really good xp ......oh and the king I have heard drops a crown but I have never got it ...but I haven't killed him to many times like 3 or 4 well I hope this helps and yes he is lvl 14 ....have fun =) ~Denday Evilstone~ *on MT*

Although the King offers little for loot (as do all the Chess pieces) the Exp is the best at Levels 10-13.

These guys do Harm Touch for almost 200 points of damage! They also cast Necro spells but are poor at Melee. Best to Melee them before they can cast spells or do touch.
