killed him 2 days ago took me about 30 min. He all but imposible to snare and will NOT stay rooted so I just DoT kited him til he died.

Well, the long and short of it is that me (50 druid) and my friend (52 necro) were camping IGs in everfrost and someone said this guy was up. We had no idea this guy was lvl 50 so we /ran 1 100 to decide who would go after it. He won, he died. He wanted revenge (and is a proud sort) so he gave it another go...died. He purely wanted revenge now..hehehe...so we paired up. Buffed pet and sent it in with thorns. Pet took a few hits but as soon as my snare hit him (which he resisted) he was PISSED at me, completely ignored the pet wacking him in the back. So necro boy cast a debuff on him, that really got him pissed, and I just kept snaring. About the 4th one finally hit and he just kept chasing the necro around while the pet wacked him good in the back. I'll give verant one thing, this guy is smart/dumb. Smart for ignoring pet and going after PC, dumb for letting pet do almost all the dmg to kill his sorry ***** Both of my dots stuck (drifting death and immolate), but the snare wasn't sticking very well. Oh well, he's dead and my friend got the mantle for a souvenir. :) Btw, he can outrun sow for sure, and I barely outdistanced him with Form of the Great Wolf (lvl 44 wolf from).

51 Nec and 56 Druid - Druid Snared - Nec Splurts - when splurt one is done - SEND a SOWED pet NOT TAUNTING and Splurt again and Kyte him with a POWERFUL 10K Dot (your pet not taunting)- If u send in pet right away Dark *** will kill it fast - This method will work all day

Finally completed my Mantle of Souls. I killed the DA 3 times in EF before I got the mantle to drop. If he has 2 visible daggers one will be the bloody dirk so if you only see 1 dagger visible he should drop the mantle. His PH is a goblin whelp that runs his same path. IF you goto back of S Tower with your back to tower he or PH will walk from your left to right close to tower (slower than the other roaming spawns there). Path starts a spot across the lake to left from tower (east I think), to near tower, then right through the 2 igloos up the hill and then warps back to 1st point. I never got accurate time of this spawn but it is very long I think. Never saw PH sooner than 8 or 10 hours though someone else could have killed it. Wouldn't expect to see the DA faster then every couple days. I recommend camping a lowbie char here just to look for him and kill goblin whelp if spawned. Was some work for 5e necro and 55 druid. Only resists seem to be MR as fear would land about 50% at lvl 52. Snare and kite with pet, splurt, BoD, ignite, EB, and druid DoT's.

As a Low level Shaman I camped the Three Igloos in EF. This guy walk by two times and Despawn the times I was there.

In my multiple campings of the Caster Igloos, I saw him walk by about every 5 mins. He came off the plaines and walked through the igloos and despawned up the hill.

Apparently, he spawns all over the world, not just in Everfrost and Feerrott. According to Allakhazam's quest database: "The bloody mantle comes from the assassin, which is a level 50 mob that randomly spawns from Faydwer to the Karanas, to Everfrost."
While I don't personally know if he spawns in *all* those zones, I have personally seen him in West Karana, North Karana, South Karana, the Rathe Mountians, Everfrost, and Feerrott, and I think I may have seen him in Kithicor, though I'm not certain. It seems he gets around.
As for the loot, the mantle is apparently used in a Paineel quest to get the Mantle of Souls (ac+1 str-5 sta-5 int+10 mana+75, eru nec only, lore, magic, no drop) and supposedly increases your faction with Miragul's Lich tremendously, though how a Paladin would successfully complete this quest is beyond me, as it reportedly requires high faction with a heretic to complete. I suppose a Paladin can help some necro friend do this and then the necro can do the phylactery part of the FA quest....

raising faction is easy go to warren and start slaughtering kobalds ( also raises erudin faction) it is alow lvl zone king is lvl 22ish onecan easiy get a key in 3 hours of hard slaughter hope tis helps.

I noticed that no one had a loc for this guy. I can't say for sure that he's not a roaming mob but ive seen him twice now and in the same spot several weeks apart. Had read this before when i was curious about him the first time and got the loc. He was in Freerot at 79,1873 or there abouts just doin the old sit and spin. This may or may not be a spawn point. Good luck to all you camping him. He's still red at 34

Yeah, he's indiff to Barbs. My barb's a shaman who worships the six hammers, and he left her alone. I actually went up and hailed him, but he didn't say anything. It really freaked me out when I saw him crossin' the south river wall. I thought, OMG, I'm gonna die! Nope. Walked up and stood on his feet and he just stared at me. ::shrug:: Go figure.

saw this guy near the lizard camps by the undead ruins in Feerrott, bouncer Flerb killed the lizards and he jumped out suddenly, I saw him shred bouncer Flerb in a few secs, wth near 100% hp left, he said something like "feel the sting of my blade fool" and proceeded to kill bouncer Flerb, thought he was a player who was incredibly powerful, but he conned dubious to my DE necro.

chances are Endder if you followed him and he disappeared it was lag .....he stopped a while back or somethin

I have not confirmed this, but many higher level Barbarians have told me that he won't attack me as I am a wood elf bard - I am not so sure that I want to test him though - hehe .... Is the mantle a "bloody mantle" ? If so I think it is used in the Fiery Avenger Quest indirectly through the Quest for the Mantle of Souls (Raises faction witht the Lich Miragul in the Everfrost Caves so that you aren't KOS and can give him his soul back so that the Necromancer Miragul appears - Miragul drops items needed in the Fiery Avenger Quest)

Saw him last night. Was indifferent to my lvl17 Woodelf Ranger. Still didn't get to close to him though.

i was hunting ice gobs at the camp in the plains[ the one with 3 igloos] and the dark assasin strutted pass me. I followed him and came in front of him but he ddint do anything. Then he dissapeared.i dont know why or how. i think i went LD when he disappeared

i got a rogue and i was wondering the price on his bloody dirk and if possible its drop rates. since its not such a great weapon for a level 50 MoB it shouldnt be that much right?

The dagger is a bloody dirk. it is 6 22, 3dex, and 3str I think. I have not aquired one yet, but I am sure that it won't be too hard. It's not a fantastic weapon.

I read up a little that he dropped a mantle and a dagger for rogues only. I would like to know more of this dagger if possible. A name or stats would do.

Indeed, your information is quite helpful, you have my thanks. It is unfortuneate that you do not reside in the same realm as I, for I would enlist your help in finding him. However, I will report my own experience when I find him, perhaps I will be able to add helpful information on him as well.

Voras, I'm afraid I do not know how often he spawns but I can tell you he's not rare. Zypher and I went to everfrost again last night and found the Dark Assassin. After 10-15minutes of battle, we slayed him again. I do not know what his respawn rate is, but he is not camped by high level players because his loot is not great for how high a level he is. I hope this helps you.
