does he agro on everyone? What faction hits (if any) do you get when you kill him?

Also, what does he look like?
RE: what factions?
# Aug 05 2001 at 11:58 PM Rating: Default
he HATES Paladins, specefically priests of Quellions and Deepwater Knights, he's part of the Heretics faction. however, he's only up if someone's doing the Soulfire quest (or if someone made a HUGE mistake, and got him to spawn on accident), he'd aggro me if he got the chance...******* Miragul

Soulfire quest has nothing to do with the Necro, this is for Firey Avenger. Soulfire is just one of the 4 items to turn in for the Firey Avenger.
head????
# Jul 25 2001 at 8:02 PM Rating: Default
i need 4 items to complete the fiery avenger quest...
1.) soulfire
2.) ghoulbane
3.) robe of miragul
4.) head of miragul

the known loot only says:
robe of miragul

where is the head? can anyone shead some light on this situation?
RE: head????
# Oct 11 2001 at 9:44 PM Rating: Default
The head also drops off of Miragul. You can also get it by just killing the Lich of Miragul but it is better to spawn Miragul and loot both right there.

Rivervale Quest
# Jul 25 2001 at 12:21 PM Rating: Default
There is a quest involving the scarecrow in Rivervale in which you receive a page that when identified, says it belongs to miragul. However, in another part of the quest, it is suggested that miragul is a female DE, yet every post I see seems to say it's a he, and doesn't specify the race (or if it even is a regular race). Anyone know anything about this?
RE: Rivervale Quest
# Oct 21 2001 at 9:02 AM Rating: Good
Miragul is an Erudite male
He is THE heretic. He was the first Erudite to study necromancy and was the leaders of the heretics in the war with the 'good' Erudites. How he ended up in Everfrost i dont know
RE: Rivervale Quest
# Oct 20 2003 at 1:03 AM Rating: Decent
he was NOT the first erudite to study necromancy. if you read the lore: he was studying wizardry, magic, and enchantment simotaneously outside of erudin when he went back to gather more scrolls. upon his return to erudin he found that a small group of erudites had branched off and formed a secret group of necromancers. he was intrigued by this new art form and started to dapple in it as well, which ultimately led to his downfall.

Hey anon poster, youre the fuggin idiot. Book of Scale is a Lore item and tradeable. The torn burnt tome half and torn frozen tome half from Naggy and Vox are No Drop. But after combining them its a Lore Item that you CAN sell if youre dumb enough to. Have a nice day.

RE: the robe blows
# Jul 20 2001 at 4:43 PM Rating: Default
It blows? Excuse me - what robe are you buying for 100pp that has these stats, because I want to be on your server!

This is a NODROP robe, and while it is likely that if you're high enough lvl to kill this mob, you probably have a blackened crystaline robe, crystal covered shroud, advisor's robe, etc, this robe certainly has nice enough stats for a caster.

Of course, I'd rather have a *different* robe (I wear a BCR now) than this, but I would hardly say it "blows."
I want his keys...
# Jun 15 2001 at 12:43 PM Rating: Default
I'd love his robe and head, sure, but the odds of getting my hands on the Books is seriously low, as I must convince a drgon-raiding group to let me at least roll off with the paladins present. I find this unlikely.
However, as per the legend of Trakanon's Chosen, at some point in time, Miragul was given some "artifacts of power" to hold til Trak's Chosen hero comes along for them. Following threads since Beta, I have come to believe those 'artifacts' are the set of keys Miragul used to activate the OLD-WORLD Firepot teleporters (in cities, the ones that when clicked on say you do not have the key...).
---
No one has ever seen any 'keys' drop, nor any other item to my knowledge than the Robe and Head of Miragul. As well, I have found no evidence of ANY drop from the Lich Miragul.

As the Lich, and possibly the Live, M. can be Charmed, I seek to one day SPEAK with both versions regarding Trakanon, Paineel, and any keys or artifacts. Further, it seems that faction MAY be gained with at least one version of M. through Paineel questing (I've yet to verify this).
Anyone else in a position to try any of this?
Anyone EVER heard of any other drops from M. than the Robe and the Head?
Isn't he dead?
# Jun 08 2001 at 6:54 AM Rating: Default
I thought Miragul, while performing his last spell that was supposed to make him immortal, turned himself into a lich and then trapped his soul in a neckalce of sorts. Then Trakanon, preparing for the last battle, took Miragul, Naligor, and Edril to be his three chosen and they wait deep beneath his lair. So how can both Miragul (which is supposed to be under Trakanon, and his lich (which is supposed to be in Frigid Plains) both be in Everfrost Peaks?
RE: Isn't he dead?
# Apr 09 2002 at 9:00 AM Rating: Default
Actually, Endril returned home, and was 'buried' in the lake in Felwithe. Rumors say that the amulet Trak gave him is buried with him.

It seems more to me that Trakanon has the souls of these three at hand, ready for them to be reborn (I take it as reincarnated) as Trakanon's chosen.

As for Miragul, his soul is in the phylactery you get from the oracle in OOT (How *he* got it, I don't want to know). Miragul's story states that "the mage’s soul, now locked within the phylactery hidden deep in the cache, retained the ambition and desire to amass knowledge and power." It seems to me that returning the phylactery is putting Miragul's soul back into his lich body.

After returning him to his not-so-dead state, has anyone tried talking to him (if such can be done). The pots in TD are nothing compared to Miragul's Highway...
RE: Isn't he dead?
# Dec 05 2002 at 12:48 PM Rating: Decent
I LOVE this idea! The quest for the keys to Miragul's Highway has forever been my main uber-quest goal in EQ...

I believe the Keys were Trakanon's gift to Miragul.

What would you ask Miragul though to discover the secret of Miragul's Highways and Trakanon's Chosen?

# Jun 08 2001 at 5:50 AM Rating: Default
I have a good friend who has his Soulfire and the Book (he still needs to give it to the oracle for the phylacetry) and I was just wondering how many people and of what level ranges we will need to bring to drop this guy. I mean, I couldn't imagine what would happen if I charmed Miragul and my friend hands him the phylacetry and the lich promptly wastes us. Complete waste of 2 dragon drops? Yeah, I would think. So I guess we would need to be fairly prepared...

# Nov 21 2000 at 1:10 PM Rating: Default
I think this is one of the best looking robes in the game. It's a shame they make stuff like this components for epic quests. The people that can wear them will never get them due to paladins needing them for their epic. :(
RE: Dang.
# Jan 31 2001 at 7:37 PM Rating: Default
Aye, it's a shame that in addition to Miragul's head they made the robe to be a component of the paladin's Fiery Avenger quest. A while back, when the FA quest was introduced, there was a bug when the head dropped from the Lich of Miragul (A huge ***** up!). In effort to prevent paladins from completing their quest using this shortcut, they added another component to the quest. Of course they had to pick a nice caster robe to be the required component to make the quest is even harder to complete for paladins.

Although it is a rare instance, paladins sometimes need to compete with casters in order to get their Fiery Avenger, which in turn is a component for their final epic quest.

His first form isn't as tough as most think, it conned even to me at 45 and was the same as any necromancer NPC of that level. After given the phylactery though his second form which was level 53 spawned, this one was tough, we had brought 3 groups of levels 45-60 players whom were friends of the pally and it took us about 4 minutes to drop the guy, mainly because every few hits he procs a 300-400 damage lifetap much like Venril Sathir except much weaker, he also cast many high level necro spells(of course). He did eventually go down with only one death(one of our clerics who used a group heal) but still, moral of the story is don't take chances if you're doing this quest, bring as many friends as you can.

Listen to this guy. I just fought Miragul with a bunch of friends. We had 3 full groups and an incomplete fourth. Our only death was a 52 druid who aggroed with starfire too early. Miragul dropped him in one nuke. Buff up as much as you can. His DoTs are NASTY. You need hp for your tanks more than anything else. Once his nasty DoT mana runs out his melee is no slouch. Hitting in the high 100's all the time. He has TONS of hp so even if you survive the DoTs you need the extra hp to wear him all the way down. Make sure he's charmed or mezzed when you hand in the phylactery. Con him and make sure you're indifferent before you click the trade button or he will eat it. That is all. Good luck. I looted a nice head and robe from him.

Funny, I'm a 54th Dwarven Paladin myself. We rule! Go Tramddark!

Let me tell you a story of how vicious this monster can be. Well it all started when me the brash cleric i am went to Everfrost in search of Gauntlets of the Ardent. Now i jump into the water asnd somehow make a wrong turn and end up in this underground cave. ow just looking for the firt time i tought my piece for the quest would be here. Talking to my friend in group talk says he got the piece, but he got it in the water. After realizing that i went into this cave i met lich, face to face. And let me say he dropped me a lvl 35 cleric with buffs on that put me to 1,200hp in 5 seconds. His first cast dropped me at least a bubble maybe 2. Then for some reason he did not attack but ran up to me and doubled me for 200 a piece. He has a pet who hit for 150.~~~Note my damages may be wrong on account it happened so fast. to put it simply i tried to explain to my friend i was dead but i got off I am de and it was over

This is a bit of exaduration. He would not drop a buffed 35 cleric in 5 seconds. His 2nd form might, but not the average just-spawned type spawn. You are supposed to charm miragul and give him an item to get the real bad boy to spawn. I believe the 2nd form is the one that drops the no drop robe. (used in pally quest?)

Worst the first form ever did to me was cast scourge on me and hit me for 120s. I would guess he is about level 45 or 50 tops in this form and I've heard he does not drop the robe this way.

The Lich of Miragul and Miragul are both part of the Fiery Avenger Quest. After giving the Oracle of K'Arnor the book of scale, you reciece Miragul's Soul. You must charm his Lich and give him his soul. Then the real Miragul spawns who is level 53. He drops the robe and head of Miragul which are one of the final steps in recieving the Fiery Avenger

Both items dropped are No Drop, and count as half of the Fiery Avenger quest. The robe, as Adraii said, is very nice, with the head being...a head. To get Miragul to spawn, you must give Miragul's Lich a "Phylactery", which you get from the Oracle of Karnon, to get that you must give the Tome of Scale (i think) to the Oracle. To get the tome, you must kill Nagafen & Vox, to get both halves of the Tome of Scale. Give these halves, and 1000pp, to the female Tobiath that does a part of the Gleaming Torch quest. A little confusing, no? Miragul is as strong as a Dragon, and has a pet to boot. Reccomended party to take him: Everyone you can get.
The Robe

The Robe of Miragul is a Robe of the Oracle skin, except black & red, NO DROP, and a heckuva lot more stats. Worth it. =)
RE: The Robe
# Jan 02 2002 at 12:29 AM Rating: Decent
I'm going to have to disagree. Don't know if you're being sarcastic, but this robe is definately NOT worth it for any caster. Just to get in on a dragon raid, you usually must be level 46 to 52. Most casters have better equipment by then. Supposing you don't, the books are almost always allowed to be rolled on only by paladins. So, you must be in a situation where:

a) You are of right level to attend dragon raids.
b) The book drops off Vox / Nagafen.
c) No paladins are there to loot, or caster-rolling is allowed.
d) You must win both rolls.
e) You must gather 3 or more groups of 46 or higher characters to kill Miragul.

Easily the bottleneck of the paladin epic, this robe stats don't suck, but aren't too great either, and getting some of the best caster robes in the game are arguably easier. This robe admittadly does look neat, but this fashion is probably one of the most rare in the entire game.

What I wonder is, if this guy is such an incredible necromancer, how come he is wearing this mediocre cloak? =)

# Aug 06 2001 at 12:32 AM Rating: Decent
worth it? Worth killing both dragons, rolling on the scales against Paladins and the wishes of everyone else, ruining quests, killing poor innocent necromancers, stomping flowers, Good GOD! When's the carnage gonna END?! IT"S JUST A ROBE! A QUEST PIECE! WE'RE ALL GOD'S APPLES, waiting to be EATEN!
