Groi Gutblade  

My Guess is he spawns close to the Bird house in SK, then, paths North thru Paw, all the way to the NK Bridge, then runs back down the wall to the shadowmen - I also believe the low level Mobs such as lions and wolves are PH for him.
So, if you want to see him , kill all the lions and crap you see around the Bird tower closest to the hermit and towards the KFC house from there.
I have seen an killed him about three times in that area. At the time, we where medding by the bird tower , and lions kept jumping us, thus we had to kill them.

Well, my level 15 wizard was in the process of
taking down an elephant calf near the SK bridge
one day, when this Groi dude strolls by and stops
to watch. I was long-range nuking the calf,
and after it died I debated whether to go loot
the corpse, being as how Groi was near it. At the
time I had no idea who he was, and figured that
I'd be just out of his aggro range if he turned
out to be a hostile.

Well, I decided to go loot the calf, and as I was
doing so Groi came over and started pounding on
me! (So much for aggro range!) He then cast some
kind of fear spell on me, then dealt the fatal
blow.

A rude introduction, but now I'll certainly avoid
the chap from now on!

Has anyone been able to pinpoint Groi's spawn site and spawn rate? Lacking that, where is he seen most often? Previous posts indicate that he's mostly seen between KFC and Splitpaw Spires. Any comments?

I was returning to Splitpaw after a near death zone when this guy jumped me. I'm a 28 warrior, but I had under half health (out of bandages) or he wouldnt have killed me. I had him down to quarter health when his DOT finally killed me. How do I get him to spawn. I want to hit him when at full health. I need REVENGE!

We were hunting the Gnolls outside Splitpaw last night. I was the puller, and I had just lost track of my group in the fog, when I spotted this guy and his pet (west side of spires). As I was debating if I wanted to attack him or not he aggroed on me. He was coned blue, but he went down really fast for my level 25 Gnomish Warrior. His pet was a pushover too – maybe3 hits. I didn’t even know who he was or what he dropped, so I was pretty happy with the pack.

I was fighting gnols buy the middle spire when this guy attacked my lvl 29 war. I had my lvl 35 druid as backup but didnt need him. HE WENT DOWN PRETTY EASY, AND PET WASN'T MUCH OF A FACTOR. HE DIDN'T DROP THE BACKPACK

This Troll Is also used for a quest concerning a druid. You get this quest from somebody in Rathe mountains...P.S. I hunted in SK from 17 to 30 I never saw this guy!!!

I was waddleing to the nk bridge from centaurs last night (as often is the case i was over weight again) and got jumped by him, he was a fairly even match with his pet for me at lvl 26. I got him down to nearly dead when my isp kicked me off (gits) so i died to him, pity cos i could have used that pack.

As to not getting a body if an npc does over 50% damage rubbish. I often train crag spiders through the gnoll camp in ek and kill the winner (normally the spider) for easy exp and loot.

Was getting about ready to camp for the night after a night of hunting at the Aviak Village with my lvl 24 shaman...when I saw this ugly ol' troll wander over and start beating up on some birds (I thought he was a PC too). I was at about 90% HP & mana and he conned yellow so I decided to take him on. I cast Affliction, Envenomed Breath & Tainted Breath followed by a root...they all stuck although, as expected, the root didn't last really long. I made sure to keep my distance in case he still had his harm touch and re-applied the two poison dots when they wore off. His pet showed up about halfway through the battle (guess he was sleeping on the job) but I just rooted him and went back to Groi...nuked him twice with my lvl 14 dd spell and he went down - didn't hit me once. Finished off the pet and looted his master...got the pack, a FS 2HS sword, a small bag and a worthless belt...and I dinged lvl 25... :o) I'm going to give the bag to my lvl 45 necromancer - the weight reduction is great for him.

First ran into him at KFC, seems he stumbled on to a group of high teens - low 20s. My guess is that he HT'd one, they got scarred and ran for him, leaving him in Melee with a chanter pet. My friend waiting for the chanter pet to do it's damage and die, then pulled him over to me for heals. Was not a very hard fight, seeing as he spent his HT. A level 21 rogue was tanking and a 23 druid was healing, so it wasn't too hard. He dropped the lionhide, woot, but my friend won the roll =(. Anywho, we spent the rest of the night have tracking half leveling on Chickens. Only other reported sighting of him that night was at bridge, but when we ran over there from KFC he was gone, and no one reported killing him. REason to beleive he's a completly random spawn. Oh, and the faction hits are (- Bretoxxulus). No others, just that.

I got him on track today while in a group at the spires. When I found him he was only at 1/4 health, thought someone else had fought him and lost, but I guess it was probably an aviak as he ran straight for me when I got close. Good thing about him fighting aviaks is he wastes his Harm Touch on them. Took back to group and we got the pack.

I saw this Troll on my way to Lake. He was at Aviak Tree and the birds are chasing him and his pet. So I wondered and want to look the fight cause I never saw the birds attack a mob bevore.

Then the silly troll decide to attack me and I defend myself and killed him with one nuke ;)

He had the backpack, 2 weapons (one rusty, one fs) and a Troll Meat.
I ma de Pickled Troll from the guy.... was nice dinner - no stats on it :)
