Was on my continuing mission (read, all consuming obsession) to find and Kill Narra Tanith when I saw him on track. Yellow to a 33 Druid, traveling north along the west wall. Took him out easily and he dropped the Runed Oak Bow.

I think I have now seen every rare spawn in SK several times with the exception of Mroon and Narra,

Just killed fabled version..looked like an undead gnoll, hit 59 warrior 1250ac up to 400 he enraged and he summons

dropped Fabled runed oak bow 43/31 some stats&saves but nothing to write home about.
No faction hits

I forgot to add that there were no faction hits when killing him. None of the centaurs give faction hits when killing them. You can kill them in their own village, even kill the vendor Meadowgreen, and when he re-pops, you can sell him all the loot you just got from killing him and his brethren.

Nice, huh?
I was a Coloth Stalker

I was in SK with a 32 Ranger running around the zone trying to pop the named spawns. This guy popped up on track at 6:30pm EST in the SW corner of the zone. He was yellow. Upon attacking him, he promptly whooped me senseless and sent me running to the zone with 10% health. He resists Snare and Tangling Weeds big time and hits for around 70, and bashes. He also runs as fast as SoW. One good thing in trying to escape him is that every once in a while, he will fire his bow which gives you a little distance while he fires. Then again, he also stuns with his bow which helps him catch up.

Upon zoning back in, I decided to follow him to study him. Coloth walks fairly fast, faster than PC walking. With SoW, I kept up easily, but if I stopped, he would gain good distance in a short amount of time. He picked up his track along the West again and walked along the wall to loc 1444, 3067 where he stopped and turned East, walked East through the Skeleton camp to 734, 2625. Here he stopped, turned South and walked to -1701, 896 where he turned a bit and walked South straight through the middle of gnoll hill and the ent to Splitpaw to the aviak city at -6379, 849 where he stopped and then turned East. Then he walked the following path: East to -6497, -197, turned NE to -5709, -1172, turned North to -5335, -1237, turned East and walked to the Hermit's cottage, and turned North at -5292, -2710. At -1494, -2716, he turned NW and walked into the NW corner of the zone, then turned South at 1799, 2648, and walked up the West wall a bit to -44, 3273. He then turned NorthEast and walked back near the skeleton camp to 1097, 1438, turned West to 1241, 2573 and then turned East back toward the skeleton camp. At this point, it was 7:30pm EST, and a 50+ guildmate had arrived to help me take him out, so I pulled him to the bridge, and we killed him...easily. He dropped a Longbow and an Arrow...one Arrow.

BTW, he ran on the same spawn as Brother Qwinn. Upon killing him, Brother Qwinn was the next named to spawn on this cycle. Sir Nanduar was already wandering around.

Hope this helps.
Good luck.
Spawn and drop

From my experiences with him.

He has no faction hits. His common drop is the Long Bow. I've personally killed him over 10 times and never dropped the Runed Oak Bow but Thunderhoof has dropped it. He is a undercon. My unbuffed druid at level 53 underestimated him and almost died. <wink>

My 2 cents worth.
New Information please?
# Apr 23 2003 at 12:47 PM Rating: Default
Jessh you guys make this topic look like a broken record...almost every single post is about how tough this guy is to whatever level you are. Now I don't mind if everyone and their dog wants to post that this guy is an undercon and why they think so, but if you could add some new info to your post along with it, well then that would help the whole community just that much more. The information I personally am interested in is are there any faction hits and if so what? Maybe no one else cares about this, but after having been laid waste by many an unexpected bard, I'm not too eager to get on anyone else's bad side unless it's from a role-playing stand. If anyone at all would be interested in ADDING to the info and not just reconfirming what everyone else has already said, I for one will appreciate it greatly.

I've killed Coloth a few times. He's level 35 and very tough for his level. He has high magic resist and runs very fast. Don't try to solo him at 35. You'll die or get him to half health before you have to zone and let someone else have an easyish kill.

As far as I'm aware he has a random spawn point. He used to be seen daily (sometimes even hourly) but he is much rarer these days. You may end up waiting days for him to appear, and you won't be the only one waiting!

The bow is dropped on average 30-50% of the time, so you have a 1 in 2 to 1 in 3 chance of getting one.

As far as the lower level guy is concerned I've never seen him so can't comment on him or whether he drops the bow. It seems a very good bow for a lvl 20 drop.

I picked him up near the Centaur Village and decided to follow him to see where he would go. He walked SouthWest towards KFC and the from there west and up past the shadowedmen and North where he headed East back towards the Centaur Village. He seemed to make a big loop and have heard that he pops at the fire in the village itself.

He dropped a long bow and 4 cheap arrows. No ROB.

Forgot to add- He conned light blue to me at lvl 50 and knocked me down about 1 and 1/2 bubs of life. When he ran he wasn't to fast. I only had a 28 sow at the time.

RE; what is KFC
# Nov 03 2001 at 11:29 AM Rating: Decent
KFC is the chicken place in the southern end of the SK. You will know what they mean when you get there!

What is KFC?

I keep hearing people talk about a place called KFC (no not the chicken place) in or near SK. What does KFC stand for and where is it? Am I just missing something obvious here or what? Please let me know.

KFC is a slang name for the Aviak Aviary (Birdhouse) in the southern part of SK.

I battled this guy yesterday. Saw him on tracking from KFC, actually caught up to him somewhere North and West of there. He conned blue to me, a 40 Ranger (of course).

A few things learned:
1.) He's faster than SoW. Even snared, I had to run a long time to get enough separation to get off a Heal.
2.) High Magic Resistance. He resisted more than 50% of the Snares I threw his way, and every Grasping Root but one. That broke in about 5 seconds.
3.) He has a boatload of HPs.
4.) He likes to double in the 80s.

Ok, that said, I did manage to defeat him. I was out of arrows, so I just used straight-up melee, with 9 points of damageshield (which definitely helps). It was close - in fact the fight was totally even for a good long time. I had to back away (see above) and cast 2 heals in-fight. That turned the tide in my favor.

He dropped the Runed Oak Bow (21/43, range 125, all bow classes). It's actually an upgrade to my Trueshot (20/45), so I was pleased. Seeing usable equipment drop is always nice.

He popped yesterday just east of KFC. He was rather fast even after I snared him. All he had for loot was a plain longbow.
My death to Coloth
# Aug 16 2001 at 9:33 AM Rating: Default
Coloth owned me today as a 32 ranger. Resisted every snare and grasping roots I cast. Runs faster than SOW. Hits for up to somewhere in the 70s. After I come back, get my body, get him on tracking, I pulling him to the bridge, where a high level Paladin (Cleric maybe) wiped the floor with him in about four rounds. Dropped, oh boy, a Longbow. Yep, died for a longbow. He conned yellow to me at the time.

so I decided to try and solo him.... being a very well equpied monk (not twink I still don't have a haste item yet) and having mend. so I layed into this guy. He has a LOT of hps.. after using mend it was gettin close. at the current rate my wu's stick was owning him I figured I'd come out on top. then just before he turned tail to run he wipped out the can and dropped my last 300 hp's before I could burp and fall over (FD). Bleh. so now he's on my list of things I'm going to kill when I get a freind or higher lvl. (Mooto knows my wrath. oh yes Mooto you will die every time I see you even when I'm lvl 60) sorry got off track there

Today I saw him by the aviak village. Was half health and oom at the time, so I found a druid to track him while I med. We grouped later and engaged him. Was a gamble, because didnt have LoH at the moment. But we took him. Hits hard but if you have a good healer and dotter behind should be no problem. Druid was lvl 30 and I ended with 60% health, after 2 druid healings. Dropped the bow alright.

His level must have increased as he was blue to me, a level 39 ranger, and we indeed an extremly tough mob. I had cleric buffs, call of the sky and flamefist on, along with SoW and a damage shield. I rooted, fired arrowd until i ran out, DoT'ed and he just wouldn't die, root broke, and then he resisted everything after I couldn't lay a hand on him. He walled me for constant 80's double hitting. No idea why he was so uber.

Spire group saw him walking through today, We had a full group of something like this: 25 Warrior, 26 Shadow Knight, 23 Shadowknight, 24 Shaman, 23 Rogue, 22 Wizard. I think we could have killed him had we been prepared, shaman was 60m when the fight started and we got him to about 25% health. Needless to say though, the wizzie didn't do much:) We probably wouldn't have even tried, as no one had ever heard of him, but we felt pretty confident about killing the undead cyc. Btw I was tanking most of the time and he never hit me harder than 84, usually hit about 50.
doesnt only drop from him

I am a lvl 34 Druid that happened to be sitting in S.K. tracking /hoping that Quillmane might spawn/ before I logged off for the night. I happened to see Coloth Meadowgreen on tracking and asked my R.L. boyfriend who he was. I knew he must have something very special as he started drooling at the mention of his name. My boyfriend is a lvl 22 ranger.

My gut instinct told me to leave Coloth alone as he conned yellow and i was soloing at the time. However I couldn't stand the look on my boyfriends face. I had to try. Well I should have gone with my gut instinct and left him alone. He resisted every spell i cast on him....snare, root, dot...etc. Needless to say, being a Centaur he is faster than sow. I died.

Good news is that I am very persistant. After retrieving my corpse I tracked him again. He was West of the gnoll spires. I got help from a friend in the area and got my revenge and the Runed Oak Bow for my boyfriend.

If you're going to go against Coloth and usually kite to kill and are under lvl 35.....Get help!

Happy Hunting......Missnomer - Tarew Marr server
Do Root Kiting

Instead of the regular snare, and DD kiting, do Snare root DOT...then run out of his arrows range and med. if root brakes recast till dead
How do you get him to spawn
# Mar 05 2001 at 1:41 AM Rating: Default
I have tried to find him several times at different times of the day and can never find him. anyone know how to get him to spawn?
Is he a triggered spawn?
# Mar 01 2001 at 9:32 PM Rating: Default
Seems that he and Kroldir were not up for roughly 16 hours.
