This is NOT a 24 hour spawn (at least not on Ragefire). Spawned at 7:30pm and again at 10:30pm in the same pickzone. Time between spawns was around 40 min.
I just finished killing him and he conned even to me at 29, so he has a level range.
Also, be aware that he will attempt to flee when his health gets low so make sure the floor is cleared or you can root/snare him before he gets far enough away to bring the whole house down on you.

If you were me and I were you, would we still be friends?
On Monday, August 09, 2004, I sat down to camp the Priest of Najena at 3:00 P.M. E.S.T. (all times are in Eastern Standard Time). Knowing my luck, he wasn't up when I walked in. I killed him around eleven times until I decided one more time and I would leave. Around rolled 1:23 and a ghoul popped. But it wasn't just any ghoul, it was A Priest of Najena. I killed him and looted the key! It took me approximately ten hours. I read one hundred and fifty pages of a book, but I did it. Don't give up, he could be the next spawn! So this quest is still absolutely functional as of August 10th, 2004.
Is this guy still around??? I have been camping him for 3 days now and i sat through 9 spawns.....Any new info would help alot.....Thanks in advance :)
Edited: Just adding the amount of times i took out the place holder consecutively with a no show of the priest of najena.......15 times
First off, the Priest of Najena is a ridiculously long camp now. I did this quest years ago and it did not take nearly as long as it does now. Compared to cheap cloaks you can buy in the Bazaar now with nearly the same specs, the Mystic Cloak is not worth the effort. However, there is no completion for the camp spot anymore, and with good reason.
I have killed the Priests placeholder on and off for a few days now. Today I camped the tower for 12 hours strait before the Priest finally spawned. Halfway through the battle the Innrouk server crashed and when it came back up, it was just another Ghoul placeholder there. Am still waiting for another Priest of Najena to spawn...
The Ghoul placeholder for the Priest spawns every 53 minutes and 30 seconds, so it's almost an hour in between spawns. Unrest seems to have been patched up in that mobs can't see you through the floors and walls anymore, making it safe to sit in the Priest of Najena tower without the Crazed Ghoul from below hitting you through the floor.
My Enchanter 46 on MT decided he was willing to do this long camp for the key. I wanted the cloak because it was the best INT back slot item short of spending 1000's of plat.
My pet cleared the barbed skeleton below the tower and the crazed ghoul from the closet. Went upstairs, took out the ghoul PH, and sat down to wait. Every 12 minutes or so, the crazed and barbed skeleton would respawn, attack me through the floor, and my pet would take care of them again. After three, maybe 4, of these cycles, the Priest popped. I tashed him, slowed him, Wandering Minded (sp) him, DOT'd him while my hasted/DS'd pet tore him apart. Threw in a couple of Discordant Minds and Mana Seives. Problem was I stayed in melee range and kept agro thusly taking all the Priest's DD's; darn near died. Finally Priest ran out of mana and ran while my undamaged pet (his Rune III was still up!) finished him off.
My question is whether anyone else has noticed a change in the spawning of the Priest. If he is on a 24-hour timer as reported elsewhere, the odds of his popping after killing the PH once are fairly low. Perhaps since the Mystic Cloak recharge quest in PoK, they increased the spawn rate?
I would hate to solo this one my self it would be kinda hard but the real hard part is getting past all of the stuff that guards him i mean the stuff that guards the priest of najena will mop the floor with whoever takes him on that is why he is so annoying he also drops a rare key that you need in unrest for some reason i think but i dont know what for
Anyone who wants to know where it spawns, go to the EQAtlas.com web page for Unrest and look at the 3rd floor diagram, item #4.
This mob is worth camping if you want the Mystic Cloak and have patience. Especially since you can recharge the cloak now that PoP is out.
For all you mages out there, listen up: I just killed this thing solo to get the key for the cloak quest. Wouldn't recommend trying this thing under 34 solo. I recommend using the air pet to interrupt his casting. It can be a long wait to get him, bring a book, or watch tv. Make sure to keep that closet below his platform up there cleaned out as soon as the ghoul in it spawns or you can have an ugly fight on your hands if the Priest has spawned (I really hate self-healing mobs).
Now, for my little rant. Stop reading if you don't like rants...
This may be stupid and trivial but I don't care. I have read too many posts about the cloak and this mob that insist on attaching feminine pronouns and adjectives to this mobs descriptions.
Does anyone see the letters "ESS" on the end of the name of this mob? No, because they aren't there. Stop calling it a "she" and using "her" for it. Its a male if the thing can be considered gender specific at all.
Let's run through our basic clergy words, shall we? Ok... Priest = Male Priestess = Female
Say it together now.... Priest = Male Priestess = Female
Hey Folks, I have been hanging in Unrest with my Paladin lately, and have encountered this guy twice, so here is my take on him. Both times, I was totally ambushed as he popped. He spawns in one of the little tower rooms on the third floor that you can only get to from the small stairways in the front of the manor on the second floor. He spawns in the West tower room there (the one that has a closet right at the bottom--Khrix's side of the house). Anyways, here is what happened the last time I met him. I came up there ItU, as I always do. I am level 30 and this is really a nice solo spot, providing you try to control the mobs, and use ItU coming in and while medding. As soon as I came up to the second floor there, I saw a barbed bone skel sitting in the little nook at the base of the stairs. This would be good for me. I checked upstairs, and nothing was there. I looked in the closet right there, and nothing as well. This is good, I thought, and hit the barbed. I was tearing him apart, getting procs from Ghoulbane and IoN in one fight (with a dex of 104, I usually get at least one of each per fight, if not more). All of a sudden, a crazed ghoul charged out of the closet door, which I was facing. I thought, okay, I can still take them both. The skel was almost gone, and I had over half mana, and a lot of hp left. Well, right as I was finishing the skel, I saw very red spell effects (which I hadn't noticed before) and I saw something to the effect of "You have been struck by Wrath and lose 198 hit points". The skel dropped and I turned slightly right to center the ghoul and that is when I saw the priest standing on the stairs . As soon as I saw him, I turned tail and ran (took a split second to loot my skel though--kinda foolish but got 4pp and a bronze weapon). I ran and yelled those famous Unrest words, "Train to zone!!!!". I ran all the way, hearing other shouts of Priest to Zone etc. As I ran, he hit me with a couple more Wraths. By the time I zoned, I was down to about 2 bubs of life. This was close, but my first encounter was worse. Basically same premise, he popped while I fought another, but that time he rooted me right at the zone, and pounded me. I used LoH and was near death when a high level came and pulled him off me. That time I escaped with less than 50hp. This guy just seems to pop at bad times for me, both times after I had killed the ghoul upstairs many times. On a good note, this last time, I dinged 31 on the skel. This guy is definitely going to get payback from me very soon.
Updating my own post--I was camping the tower area where he spawns last night, and he popped again. There were no other spawns to add, so I attacked him. I was 33 at the time, and he conned dark blue. It was a long fight as well. He cast wrath successfully on me 3 times, each time taking 200hp. He also heals himself when he gets low, which can be a pain. I used bash to interrupt him whenever I could, and I got lucky and had a proc from Ghoulbane and Instrument of Nife. Had I got more procs, the fight would have been over quicker. I kept getting him low, and he was healing. Eventually he ran OOM and started melee, and I knew he was through. I kept hitting him, and started Undead nuking him (I had plenty of mana left) and he ran. I killed him as he ran down the stairs, and I was down to about 2 bubbles of health and mana, so it wasn't too bad. All he dropped was a tarnished bronze key (weak drop!). Even though he didn't drop anything good, I had the satisfaction of finally paying him back for previous harassment (see my above post). As a sidenote, I also killed the lesser blade fiend last night as well, so it was a rare spawn night for me.
6AM EQ time PoN was up. I was a Level 40 Wizard soloing this beast.
First try i nearly got myself killed. Cant melee and 3 other undead at the same time. Had to zone out. Medded back to full and full hp.
PLAN-B FROM OUTER SPACE: Target him by using ITU without aggroing. Cast tishans clash standing on the stairs, recast ITU, and run outside. He came running out after me. Be prepared! (at 40th level nothing else aggroed. Cast IMMOBOLIZE. NUKE - NUKE - NUKE - STUN - NUKE - STUN - NUKE - DEAD!
The stuns should be cast or you might end up 00m before he does, since he heals himself. The stun should interrupt his casting. He doesnt do alot of DD'ing, the most he could nuke me for was 160dmg, and that was without my SAVE BUFFs up. Drops key and silly bronze knuckles.

pos 500, pos 75, pos 44 in the tower, when looking from the front of the house, the tower on the left side, the ph is a ghoul or crazed ghoul, must kill several, maybe even as many as a hundred before the priest pops. Time in between pops varys depending on hour of day, as little as 11 minutes as many as 55 minutes, the place holders have about 1200 to 1400 hp's. Invis vs Undead while you med, and you'll be fine, not to agro anything else in house.
If you look at the screen shot you'll notice the hooks hanging from the ceiling. Only one side has the hooks hanging from the ceiling. Figure that out and you will have your cloak young grasshopper.
It's the tower to the left when facing the doors from the outside)
