I guess I'm just lucky

One nite I was in BB, and there was 3 other ppl in the zoe....someone shouted "Master Brewer at spawn spot". Well I had no idea what the brewer was or anything about him.....so I went and looked for him and he conned blue so I thought I would kill him just for the exp......well after I killed him, I looted a cask...I had seen ppl auctioning to buy these so, I gated and stuck it in the bank and went to bed. Well the next morning when I woke up, I logged on and lazily made my way to BB....once I got there I was curious if there was another brewer down where I killed the first, sure enough there. I killed him and got another cask! I did a shout to see the rarity on the drop and no one answered....but after reading these posts I figured that I am just a lucky guy who stumbled onto something at the right time. =)

I recently killed a master brewer and got a casks. now i need 2 more. One thing that really ticks me off is the fact that people who are not even rouges or rangers are camping the brewer spot just to loot the casks and sell it for a god-awful sum of money (I have personally seen it go for 300pp!!!!) That is just outright piracy if you ask me. why pay such an amount when you can simply camp and get one for yourself! Also if you dont need the item for a quest, why not let someone else who does just have it! There's nothing wrong with trying to make a profit, but COME ON! If it doesn't do any good to have an item, just give it to someone who needs it. There are other ways to make a profit, like trade skills. That is what they are for. Go create some armor for cryin' out loud. There are alot more players out there who could really use it.

You think that's annoying? What bugs the heck out of me are all the people who camp the ground spawns of iron oxide in Steamfont, then sell it for rediculous prices in the Bazaar (sometimes up to 1500 EACH!) Makes it a real pain for potters who have an actual practical use for the stuff rather than sombody trying to get cash for something he just picked up off the ground.

My druid is hunting down brewers for casks at the moment, but not for selling, just for the lower lvl ranger I have. The items are not nodrop so it is easy to get one of your higher lvl characters to get it. I can imagine other people are doing this same thing too, for exactly the same reason: helping out their lower lvl char. It is only more boring if you don't get the exp. anymore :P

Oh, and considering the rarity of this spawn (not to mention the Master brewer spawn) IMO there are easier and faster ways to make cash than waiting endlessly for the brewer to spawn. ;P

That would be a great idea, if trade skill were worth anything, but unless you are an enchanter or have way too much plat to blow on raising the skill, I have not seen anyone make a profit from them. I am a rogue, and will be questing/camping for the cask, but I would happily take extras and sell them for what ever i could get for them.

Obviously u dont do trade skills or u wouldnt be spouting such stupidity. I have a friend who has bought himself an FBSS, 2 Wu's trance sticks within 2 weeks time just from simply making handmade backpacks. Not to mention made his monk a full set of Wu's. And you say trade skills our useless? Maybe you should actually try some of these things before you make judgements u tard. Sorry for the flame folks, tired of idiots is all =)

I agree with you on the fact that tradeskill are one of the most critical parts of the game, but I wouldn't call then a money-maker until you're very advanced... For your example, High quality Bear Skins are so rare that the few backpacks I've been able to make from them,I keep them for my own use, I wuouldn't sell them.

You will meet some people out there, that will even give them to you, but thats 1 out of 10000000 people!!!!!! I would like to recognize the person who gave me one, Slambo, a monk on test server. Well anyway, I am looking for 2 more, if i can buy or have them, i will also recoginize you. Thanks all!

Buy the Cask
# May 10 2001 at 6:04 AM Rating: Good
After 16 hours and 13 brewers later I still had no cask, I got sick of waiting so I went to gfay and auctioned for one... 10 minutes later I finally had a damned cask. The BB Cask goes for roughly 100pp-200pp, do yourself a favor and buy one (pp permitting of course).

100-200pp is crazy. I've seen em go for like 10-20pp. Do yourselves a favor, and dont spend 200pp for an item if you can get it for like 10pp. Why waste the money on an item that doesnt even do anything on it's own?!?!

Heh never sold one and never will but I have seen em sell for 5K. 100 to 200 pp is nothing compared to how rare the drop used to be. I think it's marginally better now but not by much.
Found him this morning

Last night I (23 Rogue) went to Blackburrow to get moving on the Burning Rapier quest. I needed to kill the brewer and get his Blackburrow Cask, not to mention 4 skins (NOT pelts) and 2 scalps.

The brewer spawns, I've seen, in TWO DIFFERENT PLACES.

One of these is at coordinates (+32, +32) on the bottom floor of Blackburrow, right next to the water outside the Pit. It's a 17 min 30 sec spawn, with placeholders; the placeholder appears to be a Gnoll Guardsman.

The other spawn spot is beneath the Elite ledge, at approximate coordinates (+20, +350). There appear to be two spawn spots there, amidst a bunch of barrels; the Brewer was on the left.

It was odd; when the Brewer or his PH spawned next to the Pit, there was nothing in the other spawn spot, and vice-versa: this morning I went in for a few minutes, and there was no one at the Pit-side spawn point, but the Brewer was standing under the elite ledge (and he dropped the cask, woot!)

The brewer spawns ONLY near the water. The master MIGHT spawn under the ledge but the reg brewer (more common one) doesn't.

I found and killed him yesterday in BB.

He was located below the Elite ledge. Head down into BB. When you reach the place where you can go straight to the Elite ledge or turn right over a wide bridge. Turn right. Cross the bridge then head down the ramp. Turn right once more and go back under the bridge. Ahead of you will be some water and to the right a bridge/walway with a lone gnoll at the front. At the back near the wall are some barrels with 2 Gnolls out front. The Brewer was the far left one.

When I attacked he said, "....no stout." Not sure if this means anything but another thread mentioned the Gnoll said "... no cask" when his cash dropped. He was yellow to me at level 12 and hit very hard. I had to zone then come back with a friend to get him.

They con red to my level 8 mage did a max of 28 points of damage. Where they con green to my 16 warrior and gave her xp! The load anywhere between nothing and 5 gold they also load cloth armor and weapon(rusty).

I searched the Bestiary for 'rude individual' and it came up. Level 10-12, no faction whatsoever, and it spawns in South Qeynos. Also a post about it said it spawned in North Qeynos as well, and they are hostile in NQ. The guards don't mind at all if you kill them. According to the posts they sometimes give exp at 16 and are good for camping at around level 12. I found the info on them right after asking for it, maybe I should have checked before posting the question

Where do you find these 'rude individuals?' They sound like they would be good for training but I've never seen or heard of them. I've seen the hut, the one near the three watchers opposite the Blackburrow entrance, but never seen any rude individuals there.

One spawns in the place of a guardsman near the water. If you head down the tunnel from the top and take a right on to the bridge, on the left hand side of the waterfall there is a boulder. In front of that boulder is where the brewer/guardsman will spawn. I have only camped this guy once and he spawned after about 3 hours. Another time leveling my monk I heard he was in the area so I jumped down to nail him. At level 14 I was able to take him without a problem.

Now the master brewer is suppossed to spawn near the brewing barrels. The area I am talking about is right before the hallway with the burly gnoll and 2 doors. The door straight ahead is the 1 commander/shaman/elite +4 gnolls room, and the other door makes a lot of noise opening and closing, leads to a walkway with a burky down below. Hope that narrows it down some. I am not positive the master brewer spawns there but that is what I have heard.

Okay, I have seen and killed both the gnoll brewer and the master brewer when they spawned at the spot near the water on level 3. Spawns occur roughly every 20 mins or so, and about 1/4 of the time it is a brewer, other times it is a gnoll guardsman. I have only ever seen the master brewer spawn one time and it was at this spot.

Got mine...

Don't know where he spawns as i saw him beating hell out of a guy on the way to the zone so i jumped into the fray with two other guys. I managed to do the most damage and got the kill, the MB dropped the cask. I was very lucky and some of the hi-lvls in the zone let me know all about it (jealous buggers). Anyway, the gnoll conned red to me, I'm a level monk, and had some decent lvl 9 shammie buffs on me.

The Master Brewer is the only one that has a set spawn point the A Gnoll Brewers from what Ive seen have a couple of different spawn points one of which is the placeholder for the Master Brewer.

Drop brewer casks. Quest item for a few classes and sell pretty good. About the same difficulty as an elite gnoll guard.
