Alternates with the Picklaw Cabalist and Lookout in the Guard Room. This is the room just down from the stairs where the first group of players is usually found.

I am a lvl 19 human warrior not twinked. My Hp unbuffed 607 attack 425 ac 401. I hit consistantly around 20's good at duel wield and double attack. Is this a good place for me to go for the exp?

So there I was, 7am, nobody else in the zone, a level 23 human shadowknight, who was hoping to group up to get to level 24. I attempted to draw a few of the pesky goblins out, knowing full well where the guards were (just in case). I foolishly pulled one, and got 3 adds, dashed for the guards, and sat safely while they dispatched my would-be attackers. I summoned a pet, and returned, knowing the room was now virtually empty, I could attempt to solo one of these beasts. I tried to con one (who was alone) and of course, he was quite red. I have never known fear of a goblin in one-on-one melee situations, and so I let loose a mighty battlecry, and my pet and I began the fray. He kicked me around a bit, I have a few nice items, but I would hardly call myself twinked. I siphoned his strength, lifetapped him every time it recycled, and continued to beat on him until finally I saw that he had scored 3 hits on me in one round!!! To my dismay, I spun around quickly, and there, behind me was another of the foul beasts. I considered running, but just as the thought crossed my mind, Harm Touch recycled! With renewed courage, and determination, I finished off the goblin I had begun the fight against, and turned to face my new attacker. He too was red, and my health was down to 2 bubbles, but I immediatly used Harm Touch, and behold, we were almost on even footing. My pet continued to beat him down, as I both Slashed, Bashed, and Cast. By the end, he was trying to escape, and I had more HP than when I first attacked this particular creature (I love Lifetap!). An Engulfing Darkness took out the end of my mana, but slowed him to the point that my pet and I could still follow. His poor pathing had him hung up trying to round the corner up the lower stairs, and with one last slash, I had defeated 2 reds, with only the help of a poor pet (if you've ever had a SK, you know how utterly weak our pets are, if you've never played a SK, but have had a pet, try to imagine how useful your pet would be if it were 10 levels lower than you. It's basically just a very mana efficient DoT, useable on multiple foes, one at a time.). The loot was not bad, both had small ringmail boots, but the XP was the greatest I have experienced since first level. This dynamic duo had netted me almost a yellow apiece!!! After healing up, and meeting up with 2 others when they entered the zone, I was level 24 within an hour. WOOT! WOOT!

I was fighting these (and other mobs in that area) and at level 22 all the guards we fought were red, cept one that was yellow. The other posts are accurate, as they hit for 50's occasionally. I didnt seem to have any probs tanking them *I have crusty suit*
Make sure to root them as they run cause they twords the guards lol, had one ksed from us in this manner

Update

I've spent much time in High Keep recently and would like to update the level maxes. The Gaurds can Max out at 27, possibly higher. My Paladin is 24th level and more often then not the Gobo Gaurds con red to me... and while fightin it's not uncommon for me to be hit for in the 50's consistantly and these guys love double attack, so that means 100+ points of damage very quickly. If you dont have a healer in the group then be very careful...

I seem to remember them maxing out at 56(ish) per hit, and they have double attacks. If they max out a few times, they can eat up hitpoints fairly fast, especially if your tank is only 18-20th level. Once you get past 20 or so, they dont max out so much.
Not to tough

When I was 23 with a 20 pet I could take these on fairly easy. If you have an adequate tank they are not to hard. Don't remember how hard they hit. If caster root/pet and blast about every 20 seconds. Should be dead. These guys also run so if you are about to die and so is he, continue, he will run and you will live. Good luck
