In North Qeynos: Fippy Darkpaw spawns regularly in the newbie area in front of North Qeynos. He shouts a threat to the zone and then charges the Qeynos gate, only to be killed off by the guards outside.

In Brell's Rest: Fippy Darkpaw is a little more difficult. See this quest entry for event and loot information. A chest spawns with loot after completion of this event.

In Overseer:

This card comes as a bonus to the Overseer Starter Bundle in the DB Store under Overseer. Comes with 5 Overseer Agent Packs containing 3 Common Agents.

After you purchase you might have to log out and back in a couple times but it will eventually show in your /claim window as "Overseer Agent Pack" x 1

If you kill all the guards and let Fippy make it through the city he will go right outside the SQ ZL that leads to the Clock. Once he stops there he will become Ready to Attack to everyone! "BuT eH iS AlReAdY reAdY To AtTaCk." some hopeless fool may say, but this is incorrect. He, as well as all BB gnolls are consider me Warmly! Why? Because it took the time to learn their way. Know their culture. Read stories to their pups. KILL THEIR ENEMIES!! If you, too, would like to have max faction with Sabertooths of Blackburrow, such as I, I would recommend murdering Holly Windstalker over and over and over again. She deserves it.

One of these days as an April fools gag EQ is going to make Fippy con grey like he usually does but he will be level 103, and everyone who attacks him will be blasted and it will take a full raid group to bring him down.

It would be hilarious to see, everyone getting killed who messes with poor Fippy.

Fippy's Triumph
# Feb 29 2008 at 8:59 AM Rating: Decent
I wonder if anyone else has done this.

When I was around level 40 or so, I came back to North Qeynos. I don't know what inspired me, but I decided to pull a huge train to the guards. I went around the zone and agro'd each mob (don't remember how I avoid insta-killing them but I did somehow). Once I had just about every rat, bat, snake, skeleton and gnoll chasing me, I ran into the city. My plan worked -- the guards could not keep up with the numbers. The town was overrun with yard trash, and it was really quite amusing.

Undoubtedly the greatest part, however, was Fippy. In the midst of the chaos, Fippy gave his infamous battle cry and stormed the gates. However, the guards who usually greet him were preoccupied, and he made his way throughout the city. When he made it to just near the South Qeynos zoneline, he stopped and shouted "I claim this town in the name of the Darkpaw Gnolls!" or something along those lines.

It was a magical moment.

My HERO!!
# Aug 27 2007 at 11:42 PM Rating: Decent
I love Fippy more then any mob in EQ. He's my hero if any mob in EQ needs to be a hero it's Fippy. As a long gnoll lover and protector of Blackburrow. I use to give weapons and items to the gnolls until EQ made it so the mobs don't take them from you like back in the day. I would venture to Vellios and get me 20 or 30 weapons and hand them out to the gnolls. I would have get some armor made for them and make them even more powerful. Once I even wasted 6k on SSoY for Fippy and he made it proc and kill a guard I was impressed with this. Well now folks don't even know about old Fippy and leave the gnolls of Blackburrow alone. I still feel Fippy is my hero. Anyone gnoll that's crazy enough to take on the odds of the Qeynos guards alone has my vote. We should all learn from Fippy and never give up on our dreams of becoming a HERO in Everquest. Yes I love gnolls so much every Halloween I get me a full suit of Split paw gear to wear. One day Fippy will win his Qeynos fight and I will be there to give him a hug for no mob in EQ has done what he has done. He is the orginal Gnoll. GNOLL POWER!!!!!

As a warrior...
# Jan 10 2005 at 2:23 PM Rating: Decent
My first character that I even bothered trying on (I actually didn't know how to cast spells, so a pure caster was out) was a Barbarian warrior named Tince. Tince enjoyed his time in Everfrost Peaks, managing to scrounge up enough ruined pelts for an ALMOST full set of leather armor, wielding a rusty (after sharpening, tarnished) ******* sword and a round shield in his off-hand.

However, he soon discovered a tunnel. This tunnel, where could it lead to? It lead to none other than Blackburrow! After collecting many gnoll fangs (and having no idea what they were for), he found a hollowed tree. "What a perfect spot to sit and take a rest in!" he thought. Quickly dispatching the gnoll pup guarding the tree, he went inside...

And promptly fell into a train.

The last sight he saw was a dwarven warrior with a sword and a hammer. This would become the first person who ever helped him.

The level 34 warrior (to this day I don't remember his name) had been collecting gnoll teeth for experience points. That's right. He was level 34 and collecting gnoll teeth.

For experience.

After he dragged my corpse out of there (he first had to explain how to /consent someone!), he showed me the path to Qeynos! I zoned in, and what did my ears behold but the cry of a gnoll! A gnoll of most evil of a name! Well, his surname was evil. Fippy does not sound very evil. Not evil at all.

Anyways, he showed me the two quests with the gnoll teeth, and it was my prime source of experience from then on. I met him once more, but that's it. After getting a port to Gfay, I found that orc hill and CB were NOT as good for experience as BB. I missed BB and still regret getting the port to Gfay. 'Course, having AOL lag didn't exactly help. Anyways, that's my story of how I first met Fippy (plus a feckload more).

Alas, Tince, we hardly knew ye (yes, btw, that name WAS chosen by the random name generator... I was just glad to HAVE a name that wasn't already taken!).

I forgot to get a pet up, and was medding out in Queynos newbie area. Well, what I 'thought' was the newbie area. The Fabled Fippy Darkpaw rushed me and beat me senseless for a few...minutes before I realised what was going on. Once I did, I threw a quick Sirrocco at him. He wasn't very happy about that...
Fippy the Legend

How funny to reminisce about your first impressions/experience's in EQ.. My very first journey in EQ started as a Ranger. Spawned in Surefall and after an hour of exploring finally found the tunnel to Qeynos Hills. Well i think i was lost in the tunnels for like 20 mins in the dark till someone came past and hailed me(finally turned gamma up) then he led me to Qeynos where Fippy proceeded to beat the crap out of me while the other guy ran to the guards. Well i couldnt believe it when I spawned back in Surefall after that huge adventure to Qeynos so I logged off and didnt play for a week lol. To this day i still kill Fippy for the fun of it if i visit Qeynos.

So THAT'S why they die so much!!!

Fabled Fippy 5th Aniversary
# Jan 08 2005 at 7:12 AM Rating: Decent
Me and some guildies were running around, trying to get as many of the 5th Aniversary Fabled items that we could, we would move our lowbies into the spawn areas, park them, and then move our highbies in and camp. The "Fabled Fippy's Paw" was the item he dropped for that event. It was a wisdom item that went into the ranged slot I believe. We just happened to run over Fabled Fippy on our way to the Fabled Orc Tooth Earring in West Karrana. Do a search of the Fabled items on Al's, it's interesting!
my first fippy experience
# Jan 08 2005 at 5:51 AM Rating: Decent
The first time I saw fippy I had just made myself a pally, turned in my scroll to my GM and ran out into the newbie zone to kill me a few rats, well as soon as I get outside the gates here comes fippy, only not regular fippy this was fabled fippy and he slapped me silly, than after I respawned and went back out he was still there standing over my corpse barking before he charged the gates and got squashed by the guards.
I'll never forget it.
Ah the memories.......

It seems like it was only yesterday when I was making my first character on EQ.I made an Erudite mage and set out for some adventure. After that 'oh so scenic' boat ride to Queynos I ended up in the newbie zone right out in front of the castle.
As I was sitting down right next to the guards medding up some mana in comes ole Fippy.Well since I was sitting he hit for full damage and me being lvl 2 I died pretty fast. I so enjoyed killing him whenever I saw him after that...

As a matter of fact I think I will go pay the old guy a visit for old times sake..

Really helps if you have your raid mages summon a pile of mod rods so your healers aren't OOM on incoming. FYI this isn't a sploit, but using DA or harmshield to get him to the raid may be. *you have been warned*

The Tale of Lord Darkpaw
# Jan 05 2005 at 10:05 PM Rating: Good
Now I had never meet Lord Darkpaw face to face, being a resident of Neriak, although I had herd of him. He was said to be a ten foot tall gnoll, a prodigey with a warhammer, able to lift Trakkannon with one hand, that shrugged off magic as if he were emerging from a cool mist.

I was on my way out of the Pits of Dispair in the Endless Desert of Ro when I entered the land of the Fabled Gnoll Demi God Darkpaw, so natually I was on my guard, evac up, exodus ready at the snap of a finger, and the command word on my lips that would instantly send me to the nexus. I shifted out of phase and proceeded cautiously forth.

My spell must have been broken somehow without me knowing it. I had not ventured far into the Realm of Lord Darkpaw when I saw the Deietific form emerge from the trees, raise up a warhammer that seemed to glitter in the sun and stride forward up to a guard that was comming straight at me.

I was so awestruck at the sight of Lord Darpaw emerging from the forest that I must not have noticed the guard decending upon me. The guard raised raised his sad, sullied, swrod, and uttered a familiar curse: You have desicrated your own lands Dark Elf you shall not desicrate ours!

There was a battle cry of YIP YIP YIP, and in a bolt of lighting Lord Darkpaw swung his majestic hammer at the despicable creaton of Qeyons. The lowly guard feeblely set to recieve his the storm that was rushing upon him.

Mithanel Marr and Tunare must both have been watching this pathetic guard and taken pity on him. A bolt of pure magic must have screamed from the heavens and stunned Lord Darkpaw for the one meer second allowing the guard to plunge his meger sword into breast of the most noble breast of Lord Darkpaw.

I was filled with the rage of my kind. That filth slew one creature who was willing to lay down his life to protect one of Children of Innoruuk.

I turned at the guard who was gloating over the corpse of the fallen Lord Darkpaw and bound him where he stood. I began an incantation to call forth a mystical familiar of Druzzil. Once the familar took form, the ground around me started to crackle with energy. Hair stood up on end as lighting came down from the sky and impaled the guard where he was bound in a blinding flash of light.

All that remained were the charred smoking boots of the imputent guard. Lord Darkpaw would be further advenged. Qeynos would burn well into the night that evening from magical fire and lighting.

The place were Lord Darkpaw fell shed his own blood in the defence of one of the chosen of Innoruuk is all the more richer.
